Accident
Ashley's POV, December 28th
The next morning, I was downstairs in the kitchen making breakfast when I heard a knock on the door. I quickly went to go answer it and saw Quin standing at the door. I couldn't help but notice the red/purple bruise underneath her right eye.
"Hi, Quin!" I said.
"Good morning Ashley," Quin answered politely.
"What brings you over here so early in the morning?"
"I think this is yours," Quin replied, holding up a blanket that was definitely ours.
"Oh, thank you so much for bringing it back."
"You're welcome," Quin said as she turned to leave.
"You're welcome to stay if you like. I'm making pancakes again."
"No thank you. I really should go. Me and my family are going out this morning," Quin explained.
"Okay. Well if you don't mind me asking, what happened to your eye." Quin stared at me for a moment in both confusion and fright.
"Uh well, me and my brother like to play on our Nintendo Switch and last night I fell off the bed and hit my head," Quin rambled. I don't know how believable that story is. Something about this family doesn't feel right.
"Oh, okay," I said, showing no signs of my skepticism, "Well I hope your eye gets better," I said sympathetically. "And I actually have something for you" I continued as I quickly ran inside and grabbed a piece of paper, scribbling my number down on it, "If you ever need anything, just call," I said as I handed Quin the paper. She nodded her head and shoved the paper in her pocket before waving goodbye and descending back down to the house.
3rd Person POV
Quin trudged slowly through the snow back down to the house. She paused for a moment, getting lost in thought, before remembering that everyone was waiting.
After breakfast, Peter, Susan, Hunter and Quin headed out to the garage, Hunter and Peter climbing into the car. Susan pauses for a moment pulling Quin back with her.
"It's a late Christmas present," she explained, as she pulled out a small bag, "I know dad wouldn't be happy that I bought this for you but what he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?"
Quin oopened the bag and inside it, there was a white box with a blue and purple galaxy print on it. The box said Marvel x Pandora. As she slid open the box there was a silver bracelet with two charms on it. One black widow charm and one infinity stone charm. It was beautiful. Quin quickly pulled her mom into a hug before climbing into the car.
It was still very early in the morning and the sun wasn't even up yet. The snow had melted the day before making the roads very icy. As Peter drove down the road a bus came tearing down the hill, slipping on the icy roads. The bus continued speeding down the hill as the car continued to spin. Shatter glass showered everyone as cold air rushed through the car. After an eternity the car finally came to a stop.
