Grandparents' house
3rd Person POV December 26th
As the car pulls up to the house, a golden retriever comes sprinting out to greet them, followed by a woman.
Chelsea runs up to the kids, licking their hands before encircling them, tail wagging ferociously.
"Oh Susan," the woman says after hugging each of them, "I forgot to mention that we have some friends staying up at the Hearth right now who we thought you might like to meet,".
"Really? Who?" she asks.
"Oh, they're this wonderful family. Their names are Ashley and Dave and they've got 4 darling little kids. Some of them might be Quintessence's age."
"Really?" Quin asked, perking up at the idea of getting to spend time with kids her age.
"Oh yes, I'm sure you'll love them. You're welcome to go up there and introduce yourself if you like."
"Can I?" Quin asks, looking over to her parents for approval.
"Sure," her mom says reluctantly, "Just be respectful. Okay?"
Quin nods her head in agreement and starts making her way up to the Hearth.
"Okay Binny, you have fun," her brother says, ruffling my hair, "If you need me I will be downstairs, in my room," Hunter calls out as he retreats downstairs.
"Bye!" Quin calls out as she starts trudging through the snow and towards the Hearth.
When you hear the word hearth, you're probably think of some fire place. And like, the Greek gods or something. You know, like, Hestia, goddess of the hearth. Well that is what a hearth is, but the Hearth is actually a building that Quin's grandparents built. More like another house. With a kitchen, and a living room, bedrooms and bathrooms. It's a guest house that is for some reason called the Hearth.
Quin walks up to the door and rings the bell. Remembering to be respectful like her mom said. The door is opened by a girl, around eight or nine years old.
"Hi!" She says, "My name is Claire. What's your name?"
