“Will it work?” Sersi asked Phastos. “It has to.” He responded back to her, more hopeful than ever. “Good, but if this somehow doesn’t work then we may need a backup plan for our backup plan,” Thena said. “If we had one then we would’ve proposed it instead,” Phastos said.
“Well… I might actually have one.” Sersi said, surprising the other two. “Is it reliable?” Phastos asked her. “Yeah, but he has a habit of showing up late,” Sersi said as she got her phone out. “Wait, a human?” Phastos asked her.
“Must be one of the Avengers Phastos.” Thena pointed it out to him. “So who is it? Hulk? Doctor Strange? The guy with the hammer?” Phastos asked, glad to have an avenger on their side. “None of those guys actually..” Sersi said sheepishly.
“Well, who?” Phastos asked. “I can never remember his hero name, but his name is Saitama,” Sersi said. “Well if you have that much faith in them, it’s worth it to call them along,” Thena said. Sersi nodded, as she went to make the call and Phastos went to build the wristbands.

“Well that deals with the last of the rubber band gang,” Genos said as he threw the unconscious body of the leader on the pile of the other guys. “Good job Genos, they were an interesting group,” Saitama said as he held a rubber band.
“Indeed. They were notorious for stealing rubber bands from the entire city. Didn’t throw off the economy but it inconvenienced the citizens.” Genos explained as the police began to take them away. “Neato, we better get to the store. I heard they’re selling crab cakes.” Saitama said as he started walking.
“Sensei, your phone is ringing in your pocket.” Genos pointed out. Saitama looked at the phone, confused. “Don’t recognize the number, should I deny?” Saitama asked his pupil. “Well it could be important, maybe you should answer,” Genos suggested.
“Yeah you’re right, but if it’s a telemarketer Im gonna break my phone,” Saitama said as he picked up. “This is Saitama, who am I speaking to?” Saitama asked. “Oh thank god it is you. Saitama, it's me.” A female voice said to him.
“Alright, but who is me?” He asked the stranger. “Sersi, don’t you remember me?” She asked him. “No, are you some low-rank hero?” Saitama asked. “No, I visited Japan a few months ago. Remember?” Sersi tried to jog the caped baldy’s memory.
“I asked you for directions after I bumped into you at that convention in Tokyo.” She said to him. “Ohh, that’s you. Hey, what’s up?” Saitama asked as he finally remembered. “Hey so I am kinda trying to save the world, and I know you’re super strong.” She said.
“Yeah, so where are you at?” Saitama asked. “The Indian Ocean, volcano somewhere.” She said. “Aww man, that’s pretty far,” Saitama complained. “Well, it’s to save the world.” Sersi pointed out. “Fine, I’ll show up. It might boost my reputation too.” He said.
“Sensei, I am coming with you. You probably need all the help you can get.” Genos said. “Fine by me, hope we get back for those crab cakes.” He said. “So clarifying, you are coming?” Sersi asked one more time.
“Yeah, don't sweat it.” He said as he abruptly hung up. “So which way is India?” Saitama asked Genos, who pointed in a direction. “Alright, you can fly there right?” He asked Genos. “Yeah, but I may be a little late.” The Cyborg said.
“It should be fine,” Saitama said. He ran back down the street. He then got a starting run before taking a giant leap in the direction of Genos Said. Genos activated his newly installed thrusters, courtesy of the doctor, and took off as well.

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean….

Thena was busy keeping Ikaris distracted, but that gave them the chance. Druig activated his wristband, which began the Uni mind. He felt them all be connected at once, they could actually do this. They could save the world.
But Ikaris wasn’t stupid, he noticed the Uni mind happening. He left the ship and saw the volcano go dormant, he couldn’t allow this. He used his heat vision on Druig, descending and then picking him up. “I should’ve done this 5 centuries ago,” he said.
Ikaris tossed him to the earth, before following up with heat vision. This drove him further down into the bedrock. He then took down the Domo and let it fall to the earth. Once everyone was gathered on the beach, he landed next to them.
“Druig is gone, it’s over.” Ikaris declared before Makkari tackled him away. All seemed lost to them, but now they had one more hope in Sersi. Well, Sersi wasn’t entirely their last hope. A rush of air was felt behind them as they saw a person there.
“So I'm guessing this is the end of the world right here?” Saitama asked Sersi. “Yeah, but we have one more chance.” She said before briefly explaining to him and Phastos what she could do. “I need you to keep Ikaris busy.” She said.
“We’ve got you,” Phastos said as Sersi ran towards the volcanoes. There was a brief moment of silence between the three remaining people. “What are you staring at? We gotta stop this Liquorice guy.” Saitama said as they took off.
Ikaris just beat Makkari, ready to finish her off. Then Phastos and Thena came in to attack. Phastos shot blasts at him and Thena blocks his heat vision. Saitama went over to Makkari and helped her up off the beach.
She said thank you in sign language, but Saitama was confused. “I don’t get that sorry.” He said. Saitama watched as they all began working together to fight Ikaris. He had to admit they were impressive and had cool abilities that worked together.
Saitama heard something behind him, before turning. Some weird man, fish, or tentacle thing walked into the beach. But he looked just as confused at Saitama as he did him. “A human?” He said out loud. “Yeah, what are you?” He asked.
He was about to answer, but an orange fiery blast took his head clean off his body. “Oh hey Genos, nice shot,” Saitama said as his student landed next to him. “Thank you Sensei, he seemed like bad news so I attacked,” Genos said.
“I hope he was a bad guy because otherwise, you killed someone for no reason,” Saitama said. “So basically the flying guy is trying to help end the world.” He said as he pointed to the battle. “Should I take action?” Genos asked
“Nah, I think they got it covered,” Saitama said as he watched them. After fighting a bit, Ikaris tries to fly away to stop Sersi. But before Phastos could even react, Genos came in. He grabbed Ikaris by the leg and threw him down to the ground. Genos had landed practically on top of him
“I don’t know who you are, but I can’t let you succeed,” Genos said. Ikaris tried to use his heat vision on him, but Genos dodged. “Machine gun blows,” Genos shouted before unleashing a flurry of blows on Ikaris.
“Yo arm blaster guy, Genos can handle him. You go help Sersi.” Saitama to Phastos, who nodded. Both he and Thena took off towards Sersi. Genos finished his assault against Ikaris, who was somehow still conscious.
“I know you’re evil, but I don’t want to have to kill you,” Genos said. Ikaris used his heat vision on Geno's chest, which sent him flying into the air. “Not killing me when you had the chance is your first mistake.” He said as he took off after him.
He began throwing a combination of punches at the cyborg, who simply took them. Genos blocked one, before delivering a blowback. “Fine, have it your way.” He said as he began his own assault. They were actually pretty evenly matched.
While Ikaris had the edge in strength, Genos held the speed advantage. Saitama just watched this like it was the most uninteresting thing in the world. Then the ground shook as Tiamut began to emerge from the ocean.
“That’s a freaky-looking statue,” Saitama said as he looked at it. Genos was momentarily shocked by it and Ikaris took the opportunity to attack. He used a decent amount of power and used heat vision to cut off one of his robotic arms.
That was the only thing keeping him stable so that made Genos fall. Luckily Saitama caught him before he hit the ground. “I’ll take over for you now,” Saitama said as he set Genos down on the beach. Ikaris saw him and landed in front of him.
“Are you gonna get in my way too?” He asked Saitama. “I mean you’re gonna destroy the world so yeah,” Saitama said. Ikaris then grabs him and tosses him into the air. He then released the most powerful blast of heat vision in his life.
The blast sent Saitama hurtling out of the atmosphere and into space. He actually missed the moon and kept going. “Oh, that’s not good.” He said as he kept going.
Back down on earth, Ikaris flew over to Sersi, ready to stop her. “I took down your friends, it’s over.” He said as he prepared his heat vision. The other Eternals were ready to fight him and protect Sersi, but then something unexpected happened.
They heard something crashing down, it sounded like some kind of meteor. They looked up and saw a burning object falling from the sky. “Must be some more volcanic debris,” Phastos said, ready to shoot it. But it seemingly changed directions and went towards the head of Tiamut.
“No way,” Druig said out loud. They all knew who it was, for Saitama had made it back. They saw Saitama collide with Tiamut’s head and go straight through it. The entire movement stopped, everything seemed calm. Then it happened.
Tiamut’s head exploded in a flash of light. It didn’t just explode, it practically vaporized. All that was left was dust and small pebbles flying down. Ikaros fell to his knees, his entire mission was a failure. He had failed Arishem and his lifelong goal.
Saitama landed next to everyone. “How did you make it back? I saw Ikaris send you into outer space.” Phastos asked. “I had a stomach ache earlier before arriving here. So after the blast sent me flying out into space, a fart slipped out and that sent me back.” He explained to the shocked Eternals.
“So a fart is responsible for saving the planet?” Druig asked. “Yeah, I guess,” Saitama said. Then Ikaris got up, ready to fight them out of desperation. But something hit him on the back of the head. It was Genos, who had smacked him with one of his severed arms.
“I managed to make my way over here,” He said as he looked down at Ikaris. Sersi walked over to Saitama. “Thank you, for saving us and the world.” She said as she shook his hand. “No problem I guess.” He said.
“Sensei, we need to make it back to town if we wanna buy a crab cake,” Genos said as he welded his other arm back on. “Oh crap, you’re right!” He said, before running away. The B-class hero saved the world, but can he save the crab cakes?
Tune in next time to find out!
