Summary
An original character and Loki romance POV, I always loved the idea of everyone living in the tower instead of the compound…"Amelie’s life is thrown into chaos when her uncle Tony Stark announces Loki's arrival. As she spends time with him, Amelie discovers a vulnerable side and develops an affinity for the once-feared god. When a powerful force threatens everything they hold dear, she teams up with Loki and the Avengers to fight back. If they fail, there will be no turning back."

Amelie Stark - Kill The Lights

Amelie Stark - Kill The Lights

Full of pizza, I put my plate down on the coffee table and collapsed back against the sofa, groaning slightly. Loki's soft laugh sounded next to me as Bucky leaned forward to look at me, amused.  “Over indulged?” I rolled my head lazily toward Bucky and glared at him as he chuckled.

Tony dumped his plate on the table and slumped back the same way I had. “Well I definitely ate way too much.”

Thor picked up an entire pizza box, seemingly nowhere near done.

“Film time!” Peter grabbed the remote and began flicking through the settings.

I turned to Loki. “It’s Titanic tonight, Peter’s choice.” He smiled at me warmly, looking to the TV as the opening credits started.

“Friday! Kill the lights.” Tony grabbed another beer as the lights dimmed.

I relaxed between Peter and Loki, who couldn't be more different. Peter was jittery, his leg jumping all over the place as he watched the movie, while Loki stayed deathly still, barely daring to breathe. With one arm draped on the back of the sofa and my head leaning against it, I stole a glance at Loki. His eyes were glued to the screen, his body rigid with tension. His fingers kept tapping on his knees like he was expecting someone to suddenly whisk him away. He seemed so uncomfortable that I almost expected him to get up and leave any second.

I couldn't help but smile sadly. My heart hurt to see this God in such a vulnerable state, so desperate for acceptance even after all that he had done. I lightly tapped his arm and he turned towards me, before leaning back and tilting his head slightly as he waited for me to speak.

“I know this probably feels strange.” I whispered. “But I promise you can relax here, no one is going to ask you to leave.”

He lifted his eyes to mine, seeming to deliberate for a moment before relaxing back into the sofa. I turned my head to the TV, the corners of my mouth turned up in a small smile, pleased with my victory.

We watched the movie, a peaceful understanding between us to appreciate the evening in our own way. I glanced over at Peter and found him fast asleep beside me.

Smiling, I turned my head to Loki to show him. At that very moment, Loki looked up from the screen and our eyes met. A wave of surprise swept through me when I realised how close we were. I hadn’t adjusted once Loki had leant back into the cushions, and now there was hardly an inch between us.

We stared at each other silently, my train of thought forgotten. I felt my breathing hitch and my cheeks flush as he continued to look at me, his face unreadable.

For a second, I could have sworn I saw his eyes flick to my lips.

“Anyone need a refill?”

I recoiled from Loki as my face flushed even darker, turning to answer Steve. “I’ll help you.”

I stood up quickly and followed him to the kitchen, careful to avoid making eye contact with anyone as I made my escape.

I bent down in front of the fridge behind the bar, feeling the cool air on my face.

What the hell was that?!
