Chapter 13 - Tonight

It's after dinner that Loki makes his move. Causing a bit of a ruckus that caused everyone to be upset and assured that he would be alone for the rest of the night. With everyone at a distance, he used his magic to glitch the security system, and he teleported himself to Alice's floor.

Everything was dark Loki heard a faint noise like people talking around the corner into the living room he saw the Tv on. He stealthily walked into the room, looked around the couch, and saw her.

Curled up on the couch like a small kitten, knees up to her chest, right arm dangling over the armest the other arm under her cheek, gathering drool and her hair all very the play. She looked quite peaceful if untamed. But Gorgeous to him.

Alice was well aware someone was in her room she assumed it was her father checking in on her as usual and continued to sleep. But that was clearly not the case as she felt someone touch her cheek with rough, much too rough to be her father's (the man moisturized more than she did.)

Immediately she sat up and jumped over the armrest, landing on her butt.

Alice looked up to see Loki with his hands up in surrender. Alice could not find it in herself to speak.

"Hello," Loki offered his hand to help her up. She ignored it and stood up on her own, backing away from him. In their short time apart, she's learned to fear him. Unfortunate but predictable. The others warned her.

"You shouldn't ....I'm not supposed to talk to you," she speaks softly "I'll get in trouble"

Right, she was Stark's daughter. He remembered him dragging her out by the arm. He looked at said arm she saw his stare and slightly turned to hide her arm despite her wearing a sweater. Her bruise had almost faded away and was a slight yellow now.

It seemed that she was more scared of her father than him.

"I just wanted to show my appreciation for your company on the helicarrier"

"I like your stories" she confessed looking down at her toes.

"Would you like to hear?" Loki offers. She is hesitant at first, but she nods and takes a seat on the nearby armchair. He takes a seat on the couch.

The rest of their night was spent sitting on the couch talking until Alice fell asleep. The soft sound of classical music filled the room, and the blinds opened up. Alice rolled over and stretched, feeling more relaxed than usual, like she actually had a good night's sleep.

"Good Morning" Alice opened her eyes and saw her father leaning on her door frame with a cup of coffee in his hand.

Alice smiles as she sits up.

"I'm making breakfast it's almost done, come get it" Then he left for the kitchen.

Alice looked around she did not recall falling asleep in bed but on the couch while listening to Loki talk. Maybe it was all a dream. Maybe he didn't come at all last night. It was just a really good dream. How unfortunate.

Alice sighed as she slipped out of bed when she noticed a piece of paper under her pillow. Pulling it out on the front was Loki's name in beautiful cursive. So it wasn't a dream. Smiling, she slowly opened the paper to his beautiful handwriting it said:

You fell asleep. Don't worry, we'll finish the story another time.

And that's how that began. For months after that night, the two continued to see each other every other night or so. Sometimes they talked and watched movies or books. Sometimes, they'd just lay in silence or even sleep together.

During the day, Loki is surrounded by hate, and Alice is alone, but at night they are together, and they care for.
