Summary
A companion piece to my main fanfic, Midoriya, the Master of Illusions! Here, I'll be posting side stories that come to me... well, whenever. I won't be having an ongoing story arc here, most likely. Just some.... DvD extras, you could say. Some will be canon, some will not. Some may be relevant to the main story, some won't. Don't expect a set schedule either, this is purely an "oh, this sounds like fun, let's write it out!" type of thing. That being said, I hope you enjoy.

Q&A Session!

  • SKTurbo asks: Will any of the “Savior Six” come from outside of Class 1-A? Furthermore, will any be from outside UA? Like, a Vulture version of Hawks or any number of tech-based baddies that Melissa Shield could emulate?

No, as fun as that idea would be, I wanted to keep the Savior Six in Midoriya’s class for the sake of simplicity and ease of interactions. Mei is the only exception, but seeing as she and Midoriya work at the same company, I don’t need to shoehorn her in as hard. In addition, I have… plans with her.

But why not add anyone else from outside Class 1-A? Well, if I had, say… Inasa Yoarashi as the group’s Cyclone, for example, I’d have to come up with a reason for him to be constantly hanging out with the rest of the Savior Six, which, while not impossible, felt like it’d be too much work to justify. Pro Heroes could work if I had them join UA as teachers, but I wanted a similar age group for Midoriya’s teammates.

Members of class 1-B COULD work, I suppose, and I had for a while considered adding Pony Tsunotori to the group, acting as their Hobgoblin, but I decided against it since I didn’t know enough about her and the connection to the Hobgoblin felt too weak. I suppose I could have made Setsuna Tokage/Hiryu Rin into their Lizard, or Jurota Shishida into the Rhino, maybe Togaru Kamakiri into the Scorpion, but I’ve picked out the roster already and I’m satisfied with it.

Also, Melissa won’t be using a villain persona for heroism. She might use villain tech, but that’s not going to happen until she meets Midoriya in the chapters covering the first movie.

  • DarkGallant asks: If you didn’t use Mysterio as the villain helping Izuku, which other Marvel villain would you have done?

Good Question. There are plenty of villains who would have made for interesting mentors, like the Taskmaster, Doctor Doom, or Anton Vankov/Crimson Dynamo, just to name a few. But at my heart, I’ve always been a Spider-man fan, so I’d say it would either be Dr. Curt Conners, alive via a clone of the Lizard, Dr. Octopus via an AI scan of his brain, or an AI of Harry Osborn for the Green Goblin. If I did go with these guys, I’d probably make Midoriya have to struggle with his angrier, bitter side trying to take over.

But also, one of the issues with making a villain into a hero’s mentor is, well, the motive. Why would Dr. Doom train a child to be a hero when he’s not interested in such a method of saving the world? Mysterio was easy enough because he’s motivated by a desire for fame as well as his ego, plus he tried the hero thing, sort of, when he first started out, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch to make him willing to train a hero.

  • criticalstr1ke asks: Are any heroes tech going to be reused, like Iron man repulsors or Spider-man's webbing?

Oh, definitely. Midoriya mainly uses villain tech since that’s what he has the most access to, but Hero Tech will definitely be used… and not all of it by the good guys.

  • Evvarr asks: Guess I’ll just go back to one I brought up before (and if it HAS been answered and I forgot , sorry) .... WHAT FUCKING ALIEN DID ALL MIGHT MEET! WHY?!??! YOU DON’T JUST SAY THAT CASUALLY

Well, if you REALLY wanna know… Howard the Duck. The birdman from an alternate Earth was caught in a time vortex while fighting the Beyonder and was flung into the future. All Might encountered him fending off members of the Creature Rejection Clan and they hung out for a bit before Howard was pulled back. All Might was very confused by the encounter.

  • Coolbean24 asks: While a mha and marvel crossover is not unexpected what inspired you to have Mysterio as a central plot point?

Well, like you said, a lot of MHA/MARVEL crossovers exist, but the majority of them are “Midoriya becomes Spider-man” or some other Marvel Hero. It’s a fun idea, but it gets tiring after a while. Then I found Mischief, which was about Midoriya becoming a hero while also being the son of the Thor villain Loki, and thought ‘Midoriya using a villainous heritage to be a hero? That’s a neat idea.’ But it did a few…. Interesting choices in story alteration, so I chose to write my own, with my own flair.

As for why I picked Mysterio? He’s my favorite MARVEL baddie and I knew the most about him. Plus, his illusion tech made him a cool character with a lot of creative ideas for fight scenes and tech.

  • Kaijusentai asks: Are any of the classic Marvel kaiju (Fin Fang Foom, Vandoom, Gorgilla, pretty much anything from "Tales to Astonish") still around? If so, do people know about them?

If they are around, they’re most likely hiding or imprisoned by SHIELD. As for if people know about them? Eh, kind of. They’re passingly aware they exist, but much like magic or aliens, people believe there’s a more realistic explanation for them, like “HYDRA made a Fin Fang Foom robot to kill Thor” or “Mysterio faked Vandoom with an illusion.” I did briefly consider making a passing reference to Godzilla having been real (since MARVEL did a run on Godzilla comics) but that would deprive Mysterio of one of cinema’s greatest icons, so I chose against it.

  • Guest asks: How do you think the spider society will react to Mysterio/Izuku and the rest of the savior six if given the chance hypothetically?

That largely would depend on the Spider Society member, but in general most of them are thinking “keep an eye on him, but give him a chance.” There’s only two major exceptions to this, both of which are spoiler characters.

  • Corma88 asks : So… how long until Osborn decides to travel to Japan? And, will the fight be a solo fight for Midoriya, a duo of him and Parker or a Big F*ck off team up with the entire class?

Without giving too much away, he’ll be in Japan by the Kamino Arc. As for the fight…. Midoriya will definitely be working with the Spider-fam to fight him. Who will that consist of in this case? You’ll see.
