Summary
This story is an Avengers AU in which the reader slowly gets to know Loki (slow burn) and of course the Avengers, but I still have to think about how exactly (suggestions welcome).Anyways, I already have some ideas, but I'm not overly sure...Disclaimer: As already mentioned, this story is an AU of the Avengers movie. That means there can be parallels in the plot and some scenes of the storyline from The Avengers were taken over in the story partly or in a modified form. Nevertheless, the story has nothing to do with the original film.ALSO please read the tags before you read the story.

A New Beginning with the Avengers

The next two days were relatively the same; you were brought food by Tony, if you needed anything else you contacted Jarvis, who helped you, and in the evening your bandages were changed and your wounds were cleaned.

When you woke up the next morning, you noticed a difference: your wounds didn't hurt as much!
You were very relieved. So you tried to stand up, which you did without any problems. So yes, your back still hurts a little, but you can stand it. No comparison to the days before.

When you left the bed, you first looked around the room. You opened the closet, and to your surprise, all your things were hanging in it. As you continued to look around, you noticed that there were shelves that you had not seen before.
And what surprised you even more was that they were all filled with your things.

"When did this happen?" you asked yourself.

There was a tray of food on the table, and you realized you were hungry, so you sat down at the table and ate. You noticed a door that was ajar and probably led to another room.
But you decided not to go in because you didn't want to get lost. The other door was to a bathroom that was quite large. It had a shower and a big bathtub.

Then the window caught your attention, and you went straight to it.When you looked out, you got a shock. You were way up high. From here, you could see almost the whole city.

"Yep, this must definitely be the stark tower," you thought to yourself. You were not afraid of heights, but you still had some, let's say, respect for higher buildings. But the view was overwhelming.

Your thoughts were interrupted by a voice: "Are you enjoying the view?"

>You flinched slightly. "Tony!  "I didn't hear you come in," you said, a little surprised.

"Sorry, the door was open; I didn't mean to startle you," he said.
"I see your injuries are better," he added.

"Yes, much better; I can actually move normally again... almost," you said.

"Oh, you'll be fine." Then I can show you around a bit today and show you some rooms, ok?"

"Oh yes, that would be great" you said excitedly. This had always been the dream; you could hardly believe it.

"Very well, let's say in half an hour," suggested Tony.

"All right."

"Great, then I can introduce you to the rest of the team; they've been asking for you all along," he said.

"The team you mean-"

"Yep, the rest of the Avengers, and before you ask, yes, you are part of it now, but before you can go on missions, you have a lot to learn and a lot of training ahead of you."

"Omg!  "Really, I love you, Tommy!" You've never been this excited before.

"Its okay" he chuckled "but like I said, it's going to be hard work, and you're going to need a lot of patience and discipline," he added seriously.

"Wow, mom and dad are going to be proud of me. I can't wait to tell them about—" but before you could finish your sentence, you were interrupted.

Tony's face became sadder. "Listen, about your parents, we need to talk about something else too," he said in a sadder tone.

"What do you mean, uncle?" you asked, confused. "Aren't I still going to go home?"

"That's the thing," he said hesitantly.
"I'll explain it to you tonight in peace. Not now, ok."

You just nodded silently. What did he mean by not going home? Did that mean something? No. No, that was impossible. That was simply not allowed to be!

Tears welled up in your eyes, and Tony immediately came up to comfort you. "Hey, calm down. Everything's going to be okay. I know it's hard, but life is cruel."
"We're going to get through this together, okay?"

"O-ok." you sniffled softly.

When you calmed down a bit, he let go of you and said, "Hey, let's talk about this later."
"How about we distract ourselves for now, and I'll show you around now, huh?"

"Yes, all right," you said now, a little calmer.

"Well then, come on, this will definitely interest you," he said encouragingly. With these words, you set off.

As you walk through the many rooms, you first realize how incredibly big the house is and how much there is to see.

It is explained to you that there are some rooms that you may enter only with permission or not at all, either because they are too dangerous for you or because you have strong fears that you could break something. as if you were a small child? But ok.  You don't want to upset him, so you agree.

He also introduces you to some Avengers. For example, Clint and Natasha, with whom you will train Or rather, Tony wants you to be trained by them.
You will also meet Thor, Steve Rogers, and a few others. They ask the usual small-talk questions and seem really nice. Of course you're not entirely surprised, since you wouldn't have been unfriendly to them, but you wouldn't have expected them to accept you right away.

By the time you were ready, it was already late at night, so you headed back to your rooms, or rather, your room.

Tony had constructed the room in such a way that there was his room, behind it a hallway, and behind it your room. You both had your own room and bathroom, but the kitchen (one of several in the tower) was in Tony's room.
So it was adjacent and separated from his room by a door.Well, to go to your room or leave it, you always had to go through Tony's living room.
He did this to protect you, so he knew that whenever you left the room or something happened, he was the first one to help you.He didn't want to control you or anything, which you knew, but he wanted to make sure that no one could get into your room unnoticed and take you away. You thought it was a bit ridiculous because the tower's security system was already pretty good, but since he insisted, you finally agreed.

"That's all for now, I think," Tony said, when he had pretty much shown you everything.

"How about we have dinner now, and then I'll tell you all about it in peace, okay?" he suggested.

You agreed with a "mhh," and you both went into the kitchen, where you ate dinner.
When you were done, you went into Tony's living room and sat down on the couch.

"So where do I start..." Tony said thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on the floor.

You looked at him expectantly and a little nervously. After a moment of silence that felt like an eternity, he finally began to speak.

"So you know when you were in the company and you fought there, right?" he said in a tone you had never heard from him before.

You nodded in agreement, still slightly taken aback by the whole thing.

"Well, by the time I got there, it was too late; I'm so sorry."

"What do you mean?" you asked incredulously.

"I looked for you everywhere, and when I found out where you were, I went straight there; I didn't want anything to happen to you, but unfortunately I was too late." I saw your family—" he stopped and looked at me sympathetically.

"Please go on," you said softly.

"Well, they killed them, shot them both." When I saw you on the ground, I thought you were dead. Blood was all around you and on you. Well, at least the bullet in your back saved you from death. If it hadn't been for that, the Chitauri army probably would have killed you, but they must have thought they had already killed you because you were lying on the ground like that.

"Chitauri army?  "What's that?" you asked in surprise.

"Well, it's hard to say... It's a kind of cyborg, so it's robotic but in human form. "We don't know exactly, but what we do know is who's responsible for it. " At the last part, his voice darkened into a kind of hatred.

"And who?" you asked.

"Loki," the way he spoke the name, was just defiant with hatred.

"Who?" you asked, confused.

"Not so important. You shouldn't really know all this. At least not yet. "You've been through enough, and it doesn't make it any better," he said.

You understood what he was saying, and you knew in your heart that he was right, but you would have liked to know more about it. But he was right again—the thing with your family had taken a lot out of you but there was one question you had to ask. "Why have you been living under a false name all these years, uncle?"

"What? " The question was somehow so inappropriate, almost unexpected for him, that he didn't know how to answer. "Well, actually, I did it for you," he said finally.

"For me?" You didn't quite understand.
"I didn't want you to be in danger because of me." "If people knew who I really was, don't you think they would take notice of you?" You just stood there silently.

"I didn't want anything to happen to you, because if someone kidnapped you or worse, I would never have been able to forgive myself, so I kept it a secret."

"And mom and dad?" "Did they know?"

"No." "No one except the Avengers, and some of them still don't. Just the closest people on the team that I can trust." he said.

You could understand his fear on the one hand, but on the other hand, you kind of blamed yourself for what had happened because of you.

As if Tony could read your mind, he said, "But don't blame yourself; it's not your fault; it was my decision." And about the cancer: You did your best; you put yourself in danger to help others, and that showed me that you were ready to become a part of us. I always knew you would make it one day, but I told the security not to let you in because I thought you weren't ready. But I was wrong. "You are more than ready; I am very proud of you." He said it praisingly.

These words brought an indescribable feeling about you. An Avenger was proud of you. You could hardly believe it. But at the same time, you became sad. "Yes, but I still failed; I didn't manage to—"

You were interrupted. "Stop saying that. There were far too many of them for me to be able to do it alone. Death is part of the battle, and it's all the fault of whoever sent them. not yours, okay? But you also have to learn that you can't save them all."

You didn't say anything; deep inside, you knew he was right, but you didn't want to admit it.

After a moment of silence, Tony finally said, "So it's getting late; what do you say we go to sleep now? Tomorrow's another day, huh?"

"Yes, you're right," you replied with a yawn.

With these words, you both left the living room and went to sleep.

The next days and weeks were relatively the same; you explored the strong tower a bit, talked to the others, or helped with small things. only with the difference that you now additionally train in the morning and in the evening. Some of the Avengers were also there sometimes. But mostly, you still train with Clint or Nathasha.
You were still struggling with the loss and had to get used to the new environment.
Sometimes you even had days when you just wished everything was like before, but you always got comfort and support. This helped you process the whole thing better.
