London
Bip, bip, bip... Fuck my life, Valerie thought when the alarm of the phone sounded at 5.00 a.m. She couldn't be mad at it too much time, though, it was for a really cool reason. She was going to visit her dad and his new girlfriend, which she hadn't met yet. It was a short visit, she was gonna be back on Monday morning, but she had to take a flight to Edinburgh where her dad lived.
She woke up, and quietly made her way to the kitchen, the last thing she wanted was waking Astrid this early, she had already done that yesterday. Once there, she made her coffee, took some biscuits, and wrote a note for her friend, -Bye Jones! I already left, obviously, I'll see you on Wednesday! Have a nice trip you too!- Astrid was also travelling, a bit longer, it was a job trip. She went to the front door, grabbed her suitcase, keys, jacket, gloves, scarf... What you usually use for winter in London or Scotland.

She didn't quite like travelling too much, not because of the plane, she loved planes, and it also was a short flight, just 1 hour and 30 minutes, but because of the people, too much noise... Basically what was called social anxiety. She did what everybody had to, security control, take the tickets... After that, she walked through the stores, arrived at her door and, surprise! The flight had been delayed TWO hours. Great, she had absolutely nothing to do. She expected that she would've been there around 9.00 a.m, but no. She was going to arrive at her destination around 11.00-12.00 a.m, she was radiating happiness.
The bad luck was sitting on her side, because when she finally found something that had her distracted, - Harry Potter and the Phoenix Order- with her earphones and everything, she felt a soft touch on her cheek. She jumped scared, not expecting that, and at the moment she turned her head to the owner of the soft touch, she regretted it. A kid. It was a little girl. She didn't hate little kids, she just didn't care about them. But the problem was that she was perfectly in her fantasy world, and maybe if she wouldn't have turned her head, that little thing would've left and go to search for another poor human. But now, she had turned herself into the victim.
The two hour were the longest two hours she had ever spent in her entire life. She didn't put much attention on the girl, and the little one got bored and left, and she finished her film. But, finally, she was on the plane in her seat, next to the window, at least. However, haven't I told that the bad luck was sitting next to her before? Well, it looks like it took the same flight. A middle aged woman, all good up to here, the thing that wasn't that good was the thing that she was carrying in her arms. A baby. A fat baby.
Valerie's face was as white as if she would've seen a ghost. Let's make a recompilation; delayed flight, the little girl, and now a baby. The only thing she wanted was to get to Edinburgh, to see her dad. The woman sat down, the baby on her lap, looking calm, she just hoped it stayed like that the whole flight.
*****
She was in Scottish land! She was relieved, the flight -thank god- was good, the baby was calm and, yes, cute. In one moment when he smiled at her, she interacted with him, they played a bit.
The black haired girl was in the front door when she saw a grey Mini Cooper, her dad. It's not like she had been months without seeing him, she visited him two or three times per month -if the work let her-, but after all he was her dad, so she was excited.
"Hi dad! I missed you so much" She said getting in the car, her dad looking at her with an enormous smile. Even if he saw her normally, every time he saw her, he thought that her little girl had grown up, although it's impossible to change much in two-three weeks, dad stuff.
"You are gonna love Emma, or at least I hope so, 'cause she already loves you" Her dad said, already driving.
"C'mon John, you know I will, I mean if you like her, I will probably do" Valerie calmed him down, although she loved seeing her dad a bit tense. She already thought of the situation, she put herself in the worst. She knew that although she didn't like her if her dad was happy, that was it.
Her dad's house was a bit far from the airport, so they put the radio on and Valerie was captured by Morpheus.

She didn't know how much time she had been asleep, but they still were in the car, her dad looking a bit anxious, which worried her. She straightened up in her seat yawning a bit, "Dad, what's up?" when she saw his face she understood, "You want to talk about him, right?"
"He has a name Valerie", John sighted, he knew her daughter hated that conversation, but he had to talk about it, "For you maybe, not for me"
"He's your brother, sweetie"
"Dad we've talked about it, a person that thinks that if you like women being one you are ill, can't be related with me. You also know he was the reason I was in first place in the closet and why I waited so long before telling you. I understand that he's your son, and that you love him, but don't ask me to do the same thing".
The air became a bit thick, and they didn't talk about anything else the whole way home.
And they arrived. Valerie would be lying if she said that she wasn't nervous, after all, her dad had a new couple which wasn't her mom. They took her things from the boot and headed to the front door, Valerie's dad took the key and opened the door.
Emma was there, but she wasn't alone, she was with a redhead with really light blue eyes. Valerie would be also lying if she said that she wasn't shocked by the beauty of the younger girl.
