You're the one I Dream of

Shuri landed the jet, on the aircraft platform; the transportation was waiting once they arrived. They sped to the medical unit, and rushed Okoye in on a gurney with Shuri, and Attuma close behind. Once they went through the doors of the operating room, Shuri turned abruptly in front of Attuma, and gently pressed the palm of her hand to his chest, preventing him from going further.

“Attuma,” she looked into his eyes. “This is as far as you go. I got this, and will keep you updated. He stared at her, then to the double doors they ushered Okoye into. He nodded and turned away. Shuri went just inside of them, as she activated her kimoyo beads. “We just brought Okoye in; she’s going to need emergency surgery. You’re needed here.” She peered into the room, Attuma stood staring out the window. Then left to take care of her big sister.

Attuma looked down below, at the busy streets of the Capitol. They were unlike those of Talokan, very active. But they do not possess, the tranquility of that of the border tribe, nor of the river tribe. He wasn’t sure, but he could guess; M’Baku’s mountainous domain was very much peaceful.

Every good thing, he has come to have; is while making his home in Wakanda. He had only hoped, the day he arrived; the Wakandan warrior he battled, would be there. But she had left, and for five years; he waited for her return. Only in his dreams, could he imagine, she was waiting for him also. Now, this incredible woman, he is in love with, is fighting for her life.

But as bad as things looks; within his heart, there is at peace, and the sense, she is going to be alright. And when it is all done, and her strength returns; they are getting married, have a bunch of children, then live the best of life. He manifests it, she just needs to, as well.

“Attuma, Bhuti wam,” (my brother), M'Baku raced towards him, Attuma turned to him.

“M'Baku, suku'une', a waye',” (brother, you’re here), they gave each other an endearing bear hug. Then parted. “Shuri, called you.” Attuma acknowledged.

“Yes, she informed me, Okoye had to be brought in for immediate surgery,” he confirmed. “And told me I was needed.” He could see Attuma was in distraught; with worry of Okoye, but also, displayed hope.

“Yes, you are definitely needed; but above all, wanted,” Attuma says to him. M’Baku laid a hand on his shoulder, and gave it a soft squeeze.

“I wouldn’t be anywhere else, in your time of need,” he expressed. “Come, lets sit and wait. Shuri is on the job.”

“And that’s why I am confident, everything will come without difficulties,” he sat down, rubbing the balls of his hands together.

“It will be,” M’Baku agreed. “So, tell me. Did you take care of what was needed, while in Talokan?”

“Not quite,” Attuma went from distress to anger. “Talokan will soon be a distant past; once I have dealt with the trash. His eyes had turned dark, his expression cold. M'Baku wasn’t sure if this should be pressed any further. All that is necessary; at the moment, is positive thoughts. Attuma looked at M'Baku and saw the concern. “Don’t worry, in suku'une, (my brother), that all can wait. Right now, Okoye and her health; is my main priority.

“Good,” M'Baku said. “Because she is going to draw from your positivity, and support. And you will get that from us, as you will need it.”

“Nib óolal, in etail yéetel in suku'un,” (Thank you my friend and my brother), Attuma felt like just breaking down, releasing all the anxiety filling his very essence. Then rejuvenate into the powerhouse of strength; he will need, to carry Okoye to the other side, of her biggest upcoming challenge.

Tecumbalam made it back to Talokan, desperation her company. Though she was warned, but when does she ever take heed; she went directly to Namor, for his help. He needs to know, Attuma will no doubt be coming after her. Once he discovers; it was her, who injured, or maybe, even killed his Wakandan girlfriend.

She came upon the dry land, pausing in front of his dwelling. She paced back and forth, deciphering if this truly was the best idea. Namor is exactly what he is known to be; a serpent. He can strike out at the least of ones expectancy. Namor stepped out of his room, he was in; after waiting for her entrance. He heard her come out of the water, and her footsteps impacting the ground.

“What have you gotten yourself into now?” He was not looking sympathetic.

“K’uk’ulkan,” she went to her knees, giving him their nation’s salute. He didn’t reciprocate, only gave her a sneer for her effort.

He knew she wanted something from him; she always does, whenever she came to him. Never once, has she come to him, with a sibilance of admiration, love or devotion. Maybe a little affection or seeing what his needs were, for a change. And then, perhaps, he could have felt a little empathy; for whatever plight, she has found herself in. But he discontinued, along time ago, of any hopes of that from her. She doesn’t have the capacity, to show anyone; any signs of tenderness.

“Oh, this must be major; this time, for you to refer to me as that,” he laughed. She remained on her knees, but raised her head, to stared at his mockery of her dilemma.

“Please my K’uk’ulkan, I need your help,” she started the water works, if that ever moved him. Maybe, if she did it more dramatic; than she has before, he would feel differently. “My life is at stake here.” His eyes narrowed.

“Again, I ask of you,” he stalked towards her, taking her arm into his hand, and lifting her to her feet. “What have you done?”

“Please don’t hate me,” she pleaded.

“I don’t, and never have hated you, Tecumbalam,” he turned away from her, staring into the flowing water. “Though I should. You annoy the Hell out of me, but your antics over the years have amused me.” She heard a glimpse of hope in his words, now to capitalize on them.

“You don’t hate me?” She asked, as if confused.

“You are the mother of my daughter,” he reminded her. “How could I hate you? You gave me, what no one else has ever. An heir to my throne; even though, I will probably out live her.” Tecumbalam’s mind began to calculate. She has never thought of it, in that aspect. She is like a queen mother.

‘Reina na,’ (Queen mother), came to form inside her warped mind. She needs to seal the deal, and make him, feel something more for her. It’s of a necessity, they revisit that night; Maczil was conceived. But she has to be patient and precise, or he could easily catch on.

“I apologize, K’uk’ulkan,” she sobbed. “My craziness has cause so much harm. Especially for our daughter, Maczil. I really didn’t know; she was having all this treatment in the community, due to my choices.” She really sounded remorseful. Namor looked her way. “I miss her so much; I went to look for her. Thinking she may have gone to Attuma.”

“Oh?” Namor approached her. “And did she?”

“Yes, but I got there too late,” she informed him. “She was well on her way, riding Attuma’s whale. So, I went to speak with Attuma, to clarify; whatever our daughter may have told him.” She was crying all the while; she was spinning her tale.

“And were you able to explain things to him?” He wiped a tear from her face, with his thumb; as her body was shaking all over. She shook her head, and broke down intensifying her emotional state. He pulled her into his arms, holding and consoling her. “I assume he wasn’t hearing it.” She backed away, staring him in these eyes. “I never got a chance to speak with him. The Wakandan woman, prevented me from seeing him.” Namor was stunned, by this news.

“So, you have know idea, what our daughter told him,” Namor says, as he went into deep thought. Attuma could show up anytime; especially, if his woman tells him she came there. “She will tell him; and he will come here, looking for you. And he won’t be kind, Tecumbalam.”

“No, she won’t be telling him.” She says, causing him to look at her.

“And why wouldn’t she?” She cast her eyes to the ground, hesitant to tell him; the dreadful news of her encounter with the Okoye.

“Because of her resistance in allowing me to speak with him. We got into a altercation, and I may have injured her, or killed her.”

“What?” Namor yelled so loud, the caverns shook. “Killed her? Why would you do that?”

“It was a accident, and I lost it; she beating me. So, I hit her in the head with a rock.” She recounted the occurrence.

“Did you go see if Attuma was home, to get her help?” Namor was going into ddesperatio. Attuma will be a force to be reckon with, if anything has happened to this woman. He will definitely figure it out, or never stop until he does.

“He was calling for her, when I fled,” she informed him.

“So, that would be a no, you didn’t seek help for her,” he said.

“I did see them go in an aircraft, so she could be alive,” she added.

“Whether she is dead or alive, it doesn’t matter,” he told her. “She was hurt, Attuma is relentless; he will get to the bottom of the truth. And when he does; you don’t know how fierce; he can be,” he warned her.

“I do know, K’uk’ulkan; that’s why I come seeking your help,” she told him. He looked at her, but this time he did sympathize with her.

“Stay here, until we can find out; what is going on with this woman,” he suggested.

“Thank you, so much,” she expressed, thinking she will be in his bed, and then his Reina.
