You're the one I Dream of

“There’s something you should know,” Namora says to him. He came back to her and sat. He could see it was serious. “M’Baku summoned you yesterday.” Attuma became alarmed.

“Why wasn’t I told? I will deal with the gatekeeper, after I return from Wakanda.” He lifted himself up to swim away. Namora was up with him, and placed a light hand on his arm. He turned his head to look at her, there he saw pity.

“I blocked him from notifying you, and went in your stead,” she confessed. He turned to her, bewildered.

“What reason would you have to do that, Namora?” She could hear the anger in his voice.

“As I said before, you came back a shadow of the Attuma I knew,” she spewed her anger. “Being there weakened you, made you like a soft sponge.” His whole chest expanded and deflated, as he took deep breathes.

“Just tell me what he wanted,” his voice was quite calm, but she could hear something else in it, hurt.

“Something about a love that you had for someone, and felt you should know they have left Wakanda. If you ever decide to return,” she straight up lied to him. Wishing it would dash any hopes, of a reconciliation; to the one who created this mess of an Talokanil general.

“Okoye? She’s gone, again?” He mostly spoke quietly to himself. She watched as he floated away without another word.

“Attuma?” Okoye woke from a nap. Shuri was in the room, reading her chart, making decisions.

“What did you say?” She came to her bedside.

“It’s weird, but I think Attuma, is in some kind of demise there in Talokan,” she looked at Shuri.

“Like what?” She sat in a chair.

“I’m not sure, but its not like danger, but being betrayed,” she expressed what she was feeling. “I dreamed of a viper after him the last time I slept.”

“Isn’t dreams of snakes, interpreted as someone you consider close, but really means you harm?” Shuri inquired.

“I remember hearing that also,” Okoye replied. “I want to go home, there’s nothing here I can’t do there, in my house, and my bed.” Shuri was going to protest, but thought better. Maybe, her being in her own surroundings, will help restore her memories.

“I will make the proper preparations,” she told her, then left. Okoye was happy, as she watched her leave, but it turned upside down, as her concern went to Attuma.

“What is going on with you, my dream lover?” She whispered.

Attuma came home, and begins to relieve himself of his clothing, prepared to stay in for the night. He had taken off his cloak, when he heard movement in his kitchen area. He came to peek inside, and was stunned by Maczil, putting together a meal, with the table set. She turned about, startled to see him standing there.

“Hi, Attuma. I wanted to surprise you, with a ‘I’m sorry meal',” she tried to explain.

“Maczil, what are you doing here, and uninvited?” He sounded exhausted.

“I came uninvited last night. You didn’t seem bothered then; especially, after I got you off. How many times, was it?” Her words were of an engaging manner, but she was actually trying to get an arousal out of him.

“Let’s get one thing straight,” he was in an acceptance state of mind. He just found out, the woman of his dreams has left Wakanda, a second time. So, no, he wasn’t up for anyone’s bullshit. “Whatever, that went on last night, early morning or what the Hell, you want to call it. Was a solo performance by you along. I was just the instrument; you use to satisfy yourself. I never kissed you, or put my hands on you. It was all you. So, don’t make it anymore, then what it is. I’m too tired to fight,” he conceded. Then continue to remove the remainder of his clothing, as he went to his bedroom; and laid down.

Maczil came in where he was, salivating at the mouth. The girl has no dignity, looking upon him and wanting more of what she got the early morning. Without his permission, she came over him, and went down to his lower body. She began to massage his member, and groping his ample sacs.

He had no will to resist, his mind was on the fact, he had probably lost Okoye forever. He felt the wetness on his gonads from her mouth, it didn’t move him. His heart ached for Okoye. He had hoped, with time and distance, and the proper help with her health by Shuri’s hands, she would rethink the things she said. Because, the energy that they ignited between them, is nothing that can be fake.

No, she spoke the nonsense for another reason, he felt. But now, maybe he needs to regroup, and move on, but to what? His body commence to betray him, responding to everything she was doing. But not his heart and mind, they will never yield. He sat up, and grabbed her by the arms; pulling her up, and towards him.

“F—k it,” he yelled in her face. “Everyone wants the old Attuma, well little girl, here I am. You came in here, and did what you wanted, to get your little hole scratched. You did it, I gave you nothing. And then you came back, for more of nothing from me? Alright then, you can have my body parts, if that helps you get through your day. But that other part of me, will always belong to another. In public, we show them nothing. Only in here, will you get your satisfaction. Are we understood? Take it or leave it.” He glared into her eyes.

Maczil was in near tears, with his proclamation. But she was too proud, to give up; thinking she could persuade him, to eventually fall in love with her. Here’s the lesson, she will need to learn. Love that deep, can not be obliterated, its forever. Especially, when the other person is somewhere in this world, roaming around. The other will always wonder, who are they with, or who’s loving them. And even in death, there is this haunting of a love lost. Phantoms, lurking in bedrooms.

Okoye made it home, and is set up in her bedroom; on partial bedrest. She needed to get prepared for her second surgery. Shuri explained everything to her. How the aneurysm had caused the headaches and blackouts, the panic attacks where her feeling the episodes coming on. The last one she had was severe, as the aneurysm had burst and she needed the emergency surgery. Now, they will need to remove the tumor, but she needed to get her strength back up first.

“It will be a critic procedure,” Shuri was beginning to explain. “I will have to go in and see with my own eyes. I will not rely on technology to guide my hands, not with you.” Okoye stared at her and could see this was stressing her.

“I wish I hadn’t returned,” she blurted out. Shuri sat on the bed next to her, and took her hands into hers. Then gave her a stern look.

“Don’t you ever say that again,” her voice was soft, but firm in what she spoke. “I love you and to know somewhere out there, you were alone and suffering; hurts my dear sister.” Okoye broke down and cried, relieving herself; of all these restrained emotions, for all these years.

“I have been holding on to so much, for so long; I lost myself,” she confessed. “I should have come home sooner, and allowed you to do what you do best. Make things right.” Shuri took her in her arms.

“Now it’s our time to take care of you,” she whispered in her ear. Okoye, felt the sleep coming over her. She laid back, and Shuri covered her, kissing her on the forehead. “Everything is going to be fine.” Okoye closed her eyes, as Shuri walked out, closing the door; but leaving it slightly a jarred.

Okoye’s eyes shot back open, thinking about the last time she saw Attuma. She said some harsh things to him, but it was necessary. She didn’t want to burden him down with a weakling, or worst her death. She didn’t know what she was dealing with at the time. But now everything has changed, and there is no way to get to him; and let him know, she lied. She did love him, and there was something there for him, her.
