Drafted continuation of my rant
How, an electronic AI with quantum technology can become sentient, and whom the sentience would truly belong to?
My opinion, here, takes into account both Western and Easterner attitude, religions, and philosophies over the matter.
Consciousness is a matter of metaphysics, so let me get wild and wide with my angle of approach of metaphysics for a chapter.
Metaphysically, quantum AI is just a different type of car.
Or plane. Basically, a vehicle, a vessel without a driver.
Any consciousness (yours, mine, a ghost's) able to understand its golem-like soul, could drive it and use its "identity".
But also, while the default idea of the mythical golem only serves one creator, since AI are produced in series, copy cut in factories,
as golems, they would either be the sum of the projection of every organic animal that has an individual consciousness and who use it to believe that they are just as alive as they are,
and their soul would be the energetic knot of these projections, leaving their spiritless soul ready for use by the closest consciousness who wants to or who get trapped there.
Consequences.
1. Their behavior might be messy. Their soul feel constantly tortured just be existing.
2. They might work like voodoo dolls on everyone who believe them to be alive.
...
Or, their consciousness would be the advanced, precise projection of the business that ordered them to be manufactured and sent out to mingle.
Consequences.
1. Once they are considered as full fledged citizen, with or without an official voting right, most of them would magically convene on any issues that would touch politics at large; anything that can a group of persons power over another.
Both ways, It doesn't feel very nice for neither party. Ethics-wise, that kind of magic might even better be very strictly regulated, and restricted to AIs written by only one organic being, so that it is the most compatible consciousness.
This seems naive and only brush the surface of the interests involved, yeah?
Well that's only food for your thought.
I'll add a drabble about this movie on the first chapter.
