What if Wanda Didn't stop using the Darkhold?
Using hexes was easy.
The dreamwalking was easy.
Getting America Chavez to Mount Wundagore was easy.
But the worst part of all this was what came next, Wanda never wanted to hurt Chavez but it was a necessary evil that had to be done so that she could be reunited with her children. Yet nobody could see it even after the numerous warnings she had given them. It would have only taken one life and then they would never have to see her again but Strange had been stubborn.
She wasn’t a monster. Wanda didn’t want to hurt anyone but they had forced her hand. However now her patience has worn thin as she witnessed doing the same thing that he had condemned her for. “Dreamwalking? You hypocrite!!” Wanda shouted stopping partway through the ritual to see the rotting body of another universe’s Strange to try and stop her.
Yet before Strange could reach the castle there was the sound of clinking metal as a knife attached to a magic chain was stuck into the rocks before being flung into the jaw of one of the large demons. Wong soon was stood once again on the castle’s floor. Wanda had given him plenty of chances to leave whilst he could even before using him to bring them here.
“I’ve already warned plenty of times yet you still stand in my way.” Wanda said before reading her crimson magic. “What you plan to do could threaten the entire multiverse.” Wong mentioned as the possessed body of Strange now stood beside him “It’s still not too late to do the right thing, you can surrender the child, Wanda.” Strange was still trying to negotiate but she wasn’t having it “You won’t stop me. You lack the will to do what you must.” She said launching a blast of the red energy towards them.
Stephan was quick to react as he returned the gesture but used the spirits of the damned to overwhelm the Scarlett Witch. She is stunned for a second as the spirits screech and scream around her but Wanda can tell it’s just a distraction but before anything can be done she is entrapped withing a spark made sphere.
Wong shouted something she barely head “NOW!” He yelled as she caught a glimpse of Strange running over to Chavez. At the sight of nearly all of her work about to be for nothing, Wanda felt her rage grow before it erupted in a large crimson explosion of magic. The sorcerer supreme is knocked back as his magic failed and he even looked scared as Wanda held a sole hand out towards him “I will not let this be for nothing. You should have helped me when you had the chance.” She said before a red light ensnared him.
With a shutting of her hand, Wong felt everything in his body constricts as he lets out a guttural yell. Wanda ignore it and turns her attention towards Stephan as she snares him withing the spell as well but she new better than giving him a second to react and instantly turning the grip into a crushing on before summoning the nearby environment to assist in ending the man’s life or more accurately this version of the man.
The rocks quickly stopped him as he was thrown to the floor in an unflinching grasp. “I never wanted this to happen. You forced my hand.” Wanda said but Strange was unable to respond past the grunts of pain “And for that you must die.” She finished by casting the chaos magic to destroy the body of the already dead Strange but to the other two’s anger.
“Stop this madness, Wanda!” Wong shouted still trying to break free but unable to gain more than a few inches “It is too late to stop this. I do wish that it never got to this point.” She said before casting the same spell against the sorcerer supreme as he cried out in pain before everything fell silent.
Wanda let out a sigh before turning away, it was the truth. She never wanted to hurt anyone but they forced her to do or at least that what she told herself. “Please! You don’t have to do this!” Chavez begged but it fell on deaf ears “What would your children think?” She asked desperately trying to appeal to some shred of humanity. “They’ll never know.” Wanda responded resuming the ritual “But you will.” America pointed out. Wanda contemplated that before staring at the young girl.
“I can live with that.” Wanda whispered.
The ritual resumed as a bright red light filled the room before the screams of America returned and her blue light contrasted Wanda’s magic. As the blue light touched Wanda’s skin she felt the power of the multiverse at her fingertips as it started to grow the longer the ritual went on. Soon enough the cries of Chavez were blocked out as Wanda saw all the infinite possibilities of the multiverse at her disposal yet what she focused on was the sight of her boys in a world where they were real.
Soon all light in the room faded away as America fell back onto the alter motionless as Wanda remained floating in the air with a satisfied smile on her face. “Finally.” She muttered “Finally I will be reunited with my boys.” She lowered herself down the floor of the castle and open a star shaped portal but unlike the distinct bright blue of Chavez’ portals this one had a dark red to it but it did little to dissuade her as Wanda stepped through it and into the sitting room of a house.
It was one she had seen so many times but was always away from in the morning. Looking outside Wanda saw that it was late at night but as she stepped towards the stairs she saw that someone was there. “Who are you?!” They asked and Wanda saw this it was her or more accurately the version of her from this universe.
The Scarlett Witch just stared at her before giving a sympathetic look “I’m sorry but I’ve come too far to stop now. Please forgive me.” She said before holding her hand out palm out and trapping the other version of herself in a similar snare to earlier but instead of killing her, instead Wanda pushed her through the portal back to Wanda’s home universe and sealing it behind as the other version calls out.
She’d done it. Wanda had finally succeeded in her mission. With a flick of her wrist she altered the witch dress she worse into the same outfit that the other had been wearing. With a soft smile she walked up the stairs and towards her sons’ bedroom yet before she could turn the handle she felt the presence of someone watching her. Someone who existed beyond the worlds.
She turned around with her eyes possessing a crimson glow before seeing a grand figure wearing purple robes with a set of gold plates.
“Wanda Maximoff, The Scarlett Witch, you have been chosen.” The figure said pointing at her.
“Just let me be with my boys.” She argued
“If you do not join us then your…children will be destroyed in every universe. You will never see them again.” The figure said
“NO! I will not allow that!” She hissed
“Then join us and help us save the multiverse.” The figure almost pleaded.
Wanda hesitated for a second and debated it within her mind before coming to a swift conclusion. “I will join you.” She said before the figure waved his hand and they relocated to a bar that looked a few years outdated from the modern world she knew. Yet what stood out what a person that was instantly recognizable by the signature silver hair.
“Pietro?!”
