Chapter 1
Pietro's POV:
Alarms were blaring in my ears. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I ran through the castle halls. I get a glimpse of the Atlantean army from the windows I pass. “Where are you, father?” I think, “what are we going to do?” My prayers are answered, one of them at least, as I find my father on a balcony viewing the beach. I get only a smidgen of a view of Namors army, and we are hopelessly outnumbered. I turn back to my father, looking for some sort of an answer on his face, some small spark of hope. Though his face had It’s usual stern and serious expression, I can tell that’s he’s as scared as I am, If not more. Without even turning to me he says “Go.” That was all I needed to hear. I run as fast as I can to the shore. No one is here but me. It’s embarrassing how unprepared for this we were. No matter how much none of us wanted to admit, we saw this coming. I catch a glimpse of Namor and the smug look on his face. I can’t wait till I can wipe It off. We make eye contact and his smirk grows wider, making my blood boil more. I’m about to charge at him when I hear a loud 'Boom'. I turn to see a bright red light consuming Namors army. Looking back at Namor, I see the shock on his face turn to anger. Even though I may be ripped apart, I can’t help a smile. Red light turns too white and consumes my vision. I'm sure I'm dead. When I can finally see again the beach is littered with the bodies of Atlantean soldiers and in the distance I can see a speck of a person in red. She turns to look at me. She wears a mask that covers her face, but I can see her eyes. A silence fills the air as I pause not sure what to say. I only find the strength, and the courage to utter three words " who are you?"
Wanda’s POV:
“W-who are you?” The prince asks. I stare back at him, thinking of my answer when I sense the rest of the family heading towards us. "They do certainly look like Royals" I think to myself. Even from a distance its hard not to notice their expensive looking garments. It looks nicer than anything I've ever owned. Before I even have the chance to process the situation further, I sense something. "Oh, no" I think to myself. "Not him." the Royals can wait, I have to deal with this first. I summon my red magic to teleport me away. Energy surrounds me and just before It consumes me I hear the prince scream "Wait!" as I vanish into light.
Pietro’s POV:
In a flash, the woman is gone as quickly as she arrived. I am left standing there, stunned. When had Namor's Invasion happened? A week ago? An hour ago? There's no way it could have been less than 10 minutes, right? The sound of a pair of boots hitting the ground pulls me from my thoughts. "Oh, now you show up?" I ask while turning to my sister, Lorna. "Quit complaining, we got here as fast as we could. Not everybody has super speed." I smile a little at the statement. Lorna takes a few steps closer to me and stares at the spot the woman was just moments ago. "So, what was that about?" Lorna asks. " I don't know." I reply still staring at the spot. This was the first time I'd ever seen that woman in my entire life, and yet, I felt this strange... Connection to her.
