Oops.
Floofty went over to their desk in the research tent and picked up the device they have been working on. They looked at it for a while, not even knowing what it did, well to humans at least. They pointed it at a beaker and pressed the button that would activate it.

The beaker disappeared.
Floofty looked at the area where the beaker used to be and tried grabbing it, which felt very weird.They pressed a different (but more hidden) button which made it appear again, completely fine.
They sighed, working on objects wasn't as great as actual people. No one actually knew about the device other than Triffany, who actually showed interest in it. But she wouldn't actually agree to be tested on and was busy usually so Floofty was alone on testing it.
Floofty went back to their hut, taking the device with them. Before they had the chance to set the device down, a loud noise startled them, causing them to accidentally shoot themselves with the device.
Falling onto the ground and almost passing out from whatever the device did, Floofty attempted to recollect themselves. They realized something was wrong, they didn't feel. . . Right.
They flicked their tail- wait. Tail?
They panicked, what in hell did they turn into?? They were smaller now, about the size of an average house cat, which made them realize that they WERE a house cat.
'Okay- how-' They thought to themselves, being rudely interrupted by Gramble sleep walking into the wall of their hut, causing him to wake up.
"OW- Ugh. . Not again. . . What. ?" Gramble seemed to be able to say, obviously not fully awake. He stared at Floofty, not realizing it was them (obviously) and then his eyes seemed to light up. Floofty braced for whatever was about to happen.
Gramble gasped, "What is a little kitty doing out here?! How did you even get here?" He said while picking Floofty up. They hissed at him, not being able to speak in this cat form. Gramble still held them, petting them to try to calm the cat down.
-5 minutes later.-
Floofty sat there on a desk, mad, not being able to do anything in Gramble's barn while he ran around trying to find something. The sun was coming up at least so maybe someone will come and save them from this place.
Gramble ran over, holding a bowtie. Floofty stared at it, honestly it looked a lot like the one they had before.
"I brought this with me when we first got here for some reason but since you were in Floofty's hut, and you for some reason resemble them sorta, I think it'll look good on you!" He said, putting the bowtie on them with slight hesitance.
He stepped back, looking at them with the same shine as before. Floofty shook their head, not used to being like this. They were soon picked up again, being taken outside.
Filbo looked up from the campfire, surprised to see Gramble and also a cat.
"Oh hey Gramble- How- How is there a CAT here?!" Filbo said, really confused.
Floofty broke free of Gramble's grasp and landed on the ground, almost faceplanting. They hissed at Gramble and Filbo before running to the research tent, where Triffany was holding a map of Snaktooth.
They brushed their head against their leg, attempting to get their attention. Triffany looked down at the cat, really confused.
"Oh- What are you doing here, Hun? How did you get here on Snaktooth?" She said while bending down to pet them. Floofty started to hiss before realizing that the pets actually felt good.
They got distracted, accepting pets from Triffany while Gramble was obviously heartbroken in the background. Floofty then remembered that they were NOT supposed to be a cat. They needed Triffany, who knew about the device that caused this, to turn them back. They shook their head, which caused the human above them to stop petting them.
They meowed frantically, hoping Triffany would be concerned enough to follow them. Floofty ran out of the tent, looking back to make sure Triffany was following them, which they were.
Floofty dashed into their hut, looking around for the device that was thrown as they got startled earlier. They could not find it and hissed out of anger.
Triffany looked around as well, wondering why there was a hole in the wall, which Floofty did not question. Floofty climbed onto the bed and started checking the desk near it, climbing onto it as well.
"Uh- Maybe we shouldn't be snooping around Floofty's hut? Knowing them, there's probably a knife somewhere here-" Triffany told the cat on the table, getting a glare from it.
'Of course I have a knife here. I don't put it out in the open of course.' Floofty thought, not being able to speak their thoughts as a cat. They continued searching, also considering that Beffica may have came into their room and taken it, which they REALLY hoped didn't happen.
"AAH- WHAT?!"
. . . Of course. It WAS Beffica who took it. Now they probably made an object invisible. Floofty jumped off the table and dashed over to Beffica's hut, where the table was missing. The stuff that was on it was just floating there.
Floofty could see the panic in Beffica's face as the device layed on the floor, thankfully not broken. They looked up at Beffica and hissed at her before trying to move the device to where they could make the table reappear.
Beffica looked down, still confused and honestly terrified, at the cat that was messing with the weird device. Floofty finally got it to where they could press the button to make the object reappear and not have it spin around and hit someone. The table reappeared and Beffica stared at the cat, who is now dragging the device while occasionally dropping it and hissing at Beffica, probably cussing her out.
"OKAY- WHAT-" Beffica yelled, surprisingly still in shock. Triffany went over to Floofty and took the device from them.
"Floofty made this-" Triffany said, being interrupted by a hiss from the cat. "-So. . . Maybe Floofty tried it on themselves and . . Now they're a cat."
'FINALLY. SOMEONE FIGURED IT OUT.' Floofty thought, stomping their paws onto the ground.
Triffany picked up Floofty, which was totally unexpected. They did not respond, not being able to process what happened for a long time. They were brought to the center of town again. Triffany set them down and patted them on the head before going back to the research tent with the device.
Floofty still attempted to process what happened before they heard Triffany calling for someone else.
-Snorpy-
They turned around and looked as Triffany called to Snorpy and Chandelo.
Snorpy looked out of the mill, seeming to have just woken up while Chandelo was already outside with Triffany.
The three talked for a bit, which Floofty was curious on what they were talking about before they heard Snorpy burst out laughing. Unusual for him- what could've- Oh. Probably the whole 'Floofty accidentally turned themselves into a cat' thing. God these people were insufferable-
Floofty sat up and decided that they needed time alone. Perhaps in the forest. Maybe they can find something to eat.
They ran off somewhere into Garden Grove, getting distracted multiple times by the weird smells and other things.
Welp. Might as well sleep under this tree. What could go wrong?
