Amethyst was completely and entirely quiet, laying in her uncomfortable hospital bed, staring at the ceiling.
In her mind, she went over what had occurred over the last few days.
Getting fucking raped, her suicide attempt, surviving the suicide attempt.
She just wanted to disappear.
The moment continued in complete silence until she heard the door open.
Her long term girlfriend, Pearl stood in the doorway.
“Amethyst…” Pearl’s eyes were filled to the brim with tears.
“Pearl…” She didn’t know what to say, her entire body shook as Pearl stepped closer.
”I’m so glad you’re okay… Th- they told me you wouldn’t make it” Pearl stuttered over her words “fuck I was so scared” Tears trickled down Pearl’s face and she reached for her lover’s hand. To which she flinched away.
”sorry…” Pearl apologized and pulled her hand away. She examined the girl. The poor thing looked exhausted, dark bags under her bloodshot eyes, a brood expression on her face…
And of course, two long stitched up scars across each of her forearms.
The very scars that almost ended her life.
Pearl couldn’t bear to look at it, it hurt too much to see her baby in so much pain.
“Maybe it would have been better if I didn’t make it” Amethyst spoke quietly.
Pearl could feel her eyes filling up again. “No! Please, Amethyst. I can’t handle hearing you say that.” Pearl’s eye faucet was running fast. “I’m so glad you’re okay… please, baby, don’t ever do that again.” Pearl reached out to hold Amethyst’s hand, this time she didn’t flinch.
”I can’t lose you… I know it’s been hard, but we’re going to work through it together. Please don’t talk so badly about yourself, you’re important to me and I love you so damn much.”
”I’m sorry, Pearl”
”No! Don’t apologize, none of this is your fault. I’m so sorry I didn’t notice it earlier.” Pearl squeezed the girl’s hand in a loving manner. “Please, Amethyst!”
”Please don’t leave me…”
