Chapter 6
He stared at me.
"I am doing this to please you, not because I think it is the right thing to do." Loki said the last part quickly as if he was embarrassed to say it. He spoke with a tone of arrogance but it was clear for me that a bit of vulnerability was leaking through. Villain, monster for audiency, right? My poor Loki. I didn't answer. He turned away from me.
''My Liege, you must secure the beast. My people will find the fugitives," said Agent Barton.
Loki’s jaw tightened when Agent Barton spoke. Then he spoke, his voice was cold and threatening. He looked right at the agent.
''If your people fail me, there will be consequences. I do not like being failed and do not tolerate mistakes'' Loki paused to allow the agent to process the threat. It was all so scary and real...I didn't know how to deal with it all. It was nothing like the movie at all. I went back to bed, covering myself with a blanket. I didn't know...what was going on, where I was. And why events were so different. Loki apparently caught the Avengers? They escaped him? Where were we and what was going on?
''My Liege...we must go'' Agent Barton said. Loki shot the agent an irritated look but he didn’t argue with him.''Very well. Lead the way'' Loki once again looked at me...it was more delicate. Loki left quickly room.
''I apologize if he upset you, My Lady. He tends to be a bit… short-tempered'' Barton stated with a slight sigh as he spoke. His blue eyes watched nervously as he spoke.
I stared at him in surprise...how did this mind control actually work?
''Barton'' Loki called him from the corridor.
Agent Barton bowed to me and went to the door. I heard the sound of a key turning. I was locked up.I was alone in the room. I walked over to the window and parted the curtains.
A huge golden statue of Loki stood outside....like in Thor Ragnarok, but even bigger.
Was it some sort of courtyard? It totally looked like a palace courtyard. But it was unlike anything I'd seen in the movies.
I started looking around the room.
There were three pairs of doors.
I entered the first door and saw a luxurious bathroom. It looked... just like Cleopatra's bathroom from the 1963 movie... Big pool, columns. Shocked, I walked out of there.
Another door.... It was... a corridor with 5 rooms. I started opening doors to all of them. Everyone was huge! Everyone was filled with shoes, dresses, jewelry, crowns... Shocked, I walked out of there.
The last door... was the door to the corridor... a door that was locked. I wish I was free... but I didn't know this world, I wasn't in my body, I don't know where I could stay. Also, I smiled sadly. I know Loki. He wouldn't let me go. And he would find me quickly. Besides, he has so many abilities... and I don't. Besides...I love him...I want to be with him... But we have to set some boundaries, like not locking me up.I slowly drifted off into dreams that we could be together. That it's real, that my dreams have come true. Thank you Universe... still a long way to go to get a happy ending... but I'm on the right track. Besides, I liked the room he put me in....I've never had so much wealth around me...I just lacked some technology. I wish I could watch some movies again.
Suddenly I heard a knock on the door.
Once… Twice… and then silence. Perhaps someone had made a mistake?
A few seconds passed and then another set of knocks, this time they were a bit louder. Then silence once again… This was definitely no accident, it was someone knocking on the door. I was getting closer to door.
There was a small pause before the knocks started once again, this time they were much louder and more persistent. This was getting a lot more concerning...
I can't open the door because I don't have the key. So I'm waiting to see what happens next.
The silence came to an abrupt end when the door started shaking violently and loud thuds were coming from the other side of the door. The entire door was beginning to sway and it seemed to be only a matter of time before something broke. Someone was on the other side and they wanted in. Loud shouts could be heard from the other side of the door.
''Let me in!''There was a desperate and angry sound to the voice who was trying desperately to gain entry to the room.
''I can't! This door has been locked and only Loki has the key!'' I yell at this person.
Because of the screaming, I can't tell if it's a man or a woman.
The voice on the other side let out a noise of frustration and pain. Then silence followed after as they seemed to be trying to think of something to do. Then after a few seconds they spoke.
''Where is Loki?I demand to know where he is! Take me to him immediately!'' they yelled.
''I can't leave this room...I told you, Loki locked this door. He went with Barton...to secure the beast,'' I replied.
Beast or Banner? Or was it someone else?
