The Awakening
Thor awoke with chains bound among his wrists and feet. He was laying on an icy blue floor. and there were metal bars surrounding him. He was stuck in a cage.
Thor was vehemently worried about that Laufey could be doing to Loki. He sits up and angrily attempts to escape his handcuffs that bound his wrists.
“Ugh!” states Thor, desperately trying to free himself.
Thor thinks of all of the possibilities of escaping, how to release himself from these chains, and what he possibly is going to say to his father.
With one final tug, he is able to release himself from the arm restraints. He looks around in all directions to see if someone is watching him, then he breaks the foot restraints around his ankles.
Now, to figure out how to get out of this cell.
Thor looks above and below for a way out, and finds the cell door has no key. He pushes among the door with all his might and it eventually pops open. Hallelujah!
Thor casts a vision of himself sitting in the cell all bound like he was before and thanks to his mother’s magic, it looks very convincing.
Now to find Loki.
There were no other cages or cells down in the ice dungeon where Thor was, only one. So, Laufey must have hold of Loki.
Thor creeps up the stairs of the ice palace and hears Laufey’s booming voice.
“Ah, Loki. How I’ve missed you. That crown looks good on your head,” says Laufey.
“At least I am not King, only Prince of Jotunheim,” says Loki through his teeth.
“All in due time, my son,” says Laufey, “All in due time.”
Thor was brainstorming ideas of how to get Loki out of this situation. He had to create a distraction.
Thor shouted, “Loki!” and hid behind a stair on the staircase to not be seen.
Loki turned to Laufey and sighed. “Can I please visit him, father? Just this once?” asked Loki.
“I suppose once will not hurt,” said Laufey. “But I’ve got my eye on you, Loki.”
“Thank you, father,” said Loki, as he made his way down to the dungeon.
To his surprise, Thor met him at the top of the stairs.
“What do you think you’re doing? How did you get out of those chains?” whispered Loki.
“I am very strong,” said Thor.
“I had a plan, and now it’s ruined! Quick, we must go, before my father comes looking for me,” said Loki in a hushed tone.
Thor and Loki begin to rush out of the castle, through a secret passageway underground to the outside, at the back of the Jotunn Castle.
“Do you know where you’re going?” asked Thor.
Loki gazed over at Thor. “I know this ice palace like the back of my hand, it is where I grew up,” said Loki.
“Very well, then,” said Thor, as they continue to run through the secret passageway.
The passageway leads them outside of the castle, and back into the snow.
A frost giant guard spots the two of them, and exclaims “Catch them!”
Loki grabs Thor’s hand and begins to run as fast as he can muster back into the woods where they first came.
“You can’t escape me, Loki,” said the large frost giant, who was on their tail, reaching out for Loki to pick him up. He grazes Loki’s back with his long nails and leaves deep scratch marks, that of which start bleeding imminently.
Loki gasps in pain but keeps on running, holding Thor’s hand as tight as he possibly can until they reach the rainbow ice river. They both step foot in it just in time before the frost giant could catch them and travel back to Asgard in a flurry.
-
Loki falls down onto a clover patch beside the rainbow river and gasps for air. Thor was quite out of breath as well, but beside that, he has Loki’s injuries to tend to.
Thor falls beside him on his knees and holds him to his chest, making sure to avoid all of his new wounds when doing so.
“Gods,” Loki said, reaching for his wounds and wincing when he touched them. He was very weak, and pale now contrasting from his blue skin tone from earlier.
“Don’t touch them,” said Thor, picking Loki up bridal style and beginning to walk out of the wooden brush back to Loki’s house.
“Where are you taking me?” Loki asked weakly, snuggling into Thor’s chest.
“To your home. I cannot bring you to The Palace yet, it is not quite 5:00AM,” said Thor, walking with Loki in his arms.
It was still dark outside, while Thor and Loki were making their way back to Loki’s home.
“We made it,” said Loki, reaching up for Thor’s chin, taking his index finger and thumb and caressing it.
“Barely, but we did,” said Thor.
Thor walks up to the facade of Loki’s home, and Loki pulls the key out of his pocket for Thor to unlock the door.
Thor unlocks the door and takes Loki inside, leading him to the bathroom and setting him on the counter.
Thor disrobes Loki from the waist up and grabs a cream cleanser on one of Loki’s cotton pads and begins to wash his wounds.
Loki sears in pain as Thor does this, and Thor takes his free hand and intertwined his fingers with Loki’s.
Thor gently brushes the cleanser along Loki’s back, and turns on the water, wets the pad, and cleans off the cleanser.
Next, Thor searches through Loki’s cabinets for a healing ointment and applies that among Loki’s wounds.
“Thank you,” said Loki.
“You are most welcome,” said Thor, touching along the unharmed front of Loki’s chest, leaning down against the counter to give him a kiss. They interlock their lips, and kiss quietly whilst still holding hands. Thor gives Loki’s hand a squeeze.
“Where are your fresh robes?” asks Thor.
“In the brown cabinet in my bedroom,” replied Loki.
Thor squeezes Loki’s hand a final time and retreats to the bedroom to fetch a new set of robes for Loki to wear.
He picks out an absolutely beautiful white pair with gold accents and a golden belt for the occasion, and brings them to Loki, dressing him in the robes.
“You are to be married,” says Thor with a smile on his face. “We did it.”
Loki smiles back at Thor. “I couldn’t have done it without you, my King.”
