Chapter 6

Minji walked through the palace, holding a small bowl in her hands as she made her way to the small room she planned on keeping Siyeon in.

She didn’t expect to see it near shambles. She also didn’t expect to see the alpha on the floor, heaving slightly.

The entire room looked as if someone had come through and broken everything. The wardrobe was on its side, doors ripped off its hinges and broken into multiple pieces. The large mirror was shattered into hundreds of large and small pieces and the vanity was even turned over with one of the legs snapped in half.

She could hear the low growl coming from the alpha as she got closer.

“You can’t hurt me.” Minji feigned bravery, finally looking at the alpha up close.

Her eyes were jet black, and her skin was incredibly pale. She didn’t have any shoes which bothered the princess, and she could see the multiple scars and still healing wounds on her feet. But then she saw her hands and saw the nails were broken, cracked and some bleeding from her recent endeavors with the furniture.

“I’ll be back,” Minji set the bowl of food down, rushing out to find the infirmary. She found exactly what she needed before hurrying back, nearly colliding with Bora on the way. “Sorry!” Minji quickly stated.

“My apologies your majesty,” Bora bowed quickly. “I shouldn’t have been in the way,” She whispered.

“Nonsense. How were you to know I would come running through her. We are practically sisters now since you’ve been bound to my sister. Do not let your status get in the way with me.” She held Bora’s hand briefly, allowing her to smile for a moment before she hurried back down the hall to the alpha.

Minji ignored the snarling that came from the alpha, deciding to sit in front of her and attempt to pull some of the splinters out from under what was left of her nails.

She didn’t expect for the alpha to watch her calmly, only for her to snarl and attempt to snap at her with the muzzle still on. Minji fell back, her breathing quickened at the sight of the alpha now openly growling at her.

“You have no nails. No teeth to hurt me,” Minji reminded her. “But if you want to have infections in your hands, so be it.” She threw the medical bag on the floor, staring the alpha down before hearing an extremely loud hiss. “Can you even talk?” Minji frowned.

She didn’t get an answer, just another growl before she gave up for the night. She knew this alpha wasn’t going to be anything like Bora. This alpha was highly aggressive and it was going to take more time to get her to break.

By morning, Minji was exhausted. She sat in the dining hall, slowly eating her breakfast when she saw Yoohyeon walk in with Bora right behind her.

“How was your rest?” The queen asked the youngest omega, watching her shake her head before taking a seat next to her father.

“That good?” The king frowned.

“Are you feeling the ill effects?” The queen asked, watching her nod her head. “Ah, yes. It’ll keep you up,” she chuckled.

“And how is your alpha Minji?” The king asked. “I heard the ruckus she caused when she got here.”

“I think she’s feral…” Minji sighed. “She hasn’t spoken or done anything human like… only reacted as a wild animal…” she frowned.

“She’s scared,” Yoohyeon mumbled before placing a hand on Bora’s head. “Give her time and let her get used to you. She’s probably hurting too.” She shrugged.

“That is true. And if she’s feral… you know what we have to do.” The king had a grave look about him, knowing that is this new alpha was feral they would have to execute her.

“I’ll give her time…” she whispered.

The omega went to visit the alpha by noon, walking in to see the alpha fighting sleep and still heaving.

“Hello…” Minji whispered while taking careful steps toward the alpha. “You didn’t eat?” She frowned when she turned the corner of the bed, seeing the untouched bowl in front of her.

She didn’t hear any growls, no aggressive stances or sounds. She was docile for now. Or at least exhausted.

“Do you know how to speak?” Minji asked.

She heard the alpha take a deep breath, letting it out slowly.

“Yes,” she spoke.

Her voice was much deeper, a little hoarse and rough. Almost damaged in a way. She was certain that it was more than likely from the aggressive sounds that erupted from her consistently.

“What is your name?” Minji asked.

“Siyeon…” the alpha spoke again.

Minji was happy she could speak, and knew what a name was. If she could speak, then she wasn’t entirely feral. It didn’t help her case that she was extremely aggressive still, but at least she wasn’t feral.

“Do you know how long you were at the facility?” Minji asked.

Yoohyeon wanted to know. Minji was curious. But the one person who needed the answer was Bora. No one knew exactly what happened at the facility but Bora explained that they would do horrendous things to alphas. Especially those who fought back.

“Years…” Siyeon looked away from the omega, looking at the ground.

Minji admired her from a short distance. Siyeon had very pale skin, long dark hair… her eyes entirely blacked out. At least until she glanced up and the rays of light caught them. They were extremely dark still, but almost like a deep chocolate brown with black flecks scattered through.

Years, she spent years in the facility and that would explain why she was this aggressive. If she had been like that this entire time, it was all she knew. But Minji knew that aggressive alphas usually got executed right away. Why was Siyeon the exception to their executions?

“Do you know where you came from?” Minji asked, wanting clearer answers now.

“North… Snow…” Siyeon answered.

That gave her the answer she needed.

Siyeon being a northern alpha meant higher prices. Beauty and brawn in one shot. Built tougher than most due to the harsh climate, easier muscle gain… and the most beautiful alphas in the kingdom.

Her price evened out when she thought of it. Aggressive by default, cheap purchase price. But with how aggressive and strong she was… expensive binding and delivery…

“Do you remember… anything else?” Minji whispered. She didn’t care if Siyeon said no. Or if it was something mundane. She just wanted this alpha to keep talking. She liked her voice and she had no idea when she would hear it again.

“My… my parents…” Siyeon whispered, pulling her knees to her chest. “My… siblings…” she sniffed.

“Did they take all of your family?” The omega frowned. “Were they all alphas?” She asked.

“All… all alpha…” she whispered. Minji watched as the alpha’s breathing became somewhat labored, watching her wince at her own actions. “I… I taken…” Siyeon frowned.

The omega felt horrible and wanted to comfort her. So she moved a little closer, only to be met with a loud snarl and a quick swipe of the alpha’s hand.

Minji quickly moved back, nearly tumbling as she did so.

“Taken… to be pet.” She glared, letting out a very nasty hiss.

Siyeon wasn’t wrong. Minji had walked in and purchased her as if she was just some kind of pet. She didn’t want her to feel that way, but to the alpha, it did feel that way…

“I don’t wish for you to be my pet…” Minji quickly stated. “I want you, yes, but not in that form.” She explained. “I would like a companion… Someone to love who loves me just as much. Someone to chat with and keep me company… someone I can spend the rest of my life with in happiness…” she sighed. “I… I would understand if you thought differently.”

The omega watched as the alpha turned to face the corner of the room, choosing to look at the wall rather than the omega in front of her. She let out a sigh, knowing this alpha probably hated her entire existence at this point.

“I won’t return you,” Minji spoke quietly. “They’ll just kill you if I did that…” She frowned.

The alpha turned slightly, seeing the omega in the corner of her eye now.

“I won’t rush you… But I do want to keep you… even if… even if my plans don’t work… you would be able to stay in the palace… most likely as a guard since you would be really good at it…” The omega sighed before standing.

Minji dusted her dress slightly before excusing herself. When she left the room, she felt horrible. A sick feeling building in her stomach as she walked down the halls.

The alpha wasn’t feral. She was just sad and angry.
