The Front Lines: Second Wave

The Front Lines: Second Wave Season 01 Episode 06

While the heroes had been discussing something alarms had began to go off for some reason and J'onn calls out "Computer report!" as a panel had come up in response. 

"Primary fusion generator initiation sequence in progress." The panel stated to him in their synthetic voice. 

"Abort NOW!" He'd called to the computer wanting it to stop what it was doing as they didn't want it happening. 

"Unable to comply, system locked." The computer stated to them while continuing its targeting and preparations to fire. 

"C'mon!" Ben Called to the others that were there as he, Albedo, and Gear had all rushed to the controls to try to get it to shut down as other individuals had been doing the same with other controls. 

"Override command authority zero zero four." J'onn had stated trying to cancel it out from the panel he was at as well. 

"Systems administrator J'onn J'onzz recognized, unable to comply." The computer spoke again as the canon was preparing to unleash the charge prepping the weapons system to do so. 

"ALL HANDS PREPARE FOR BINARY FUSION DISCHARGE, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" J'onn yelled over the intercoms to everyone on board the station. 

"No time left, Ship, Full Override!" Albedo called as the Mechamorph nodded  and jumped at the panel and began to take it over. 

"Ship's not gonna be enough." Ben spoke hitting the Omnitrix and changing into Upgrade also jumping at part of the Watchtower systems and began to take it over as well. 

"I'm with you." Albedo called hitting the bands of the Biomnitrix together calling "Armo-Grade!" as he'd changed into a fusion of Upgrade and Armodrillo and then busted his way down to the core room before attaching himself to the panels there. 

The three had been taking over the Watchtower and we see from the outside them slowly overtaking the whole thing from inside out as the beam had fired but they were thankfully able to take out the power and force the beam to shut down without any sort of power source to keep it going and they'd only had the backup generator which wasn't linked to the laser keeping them properly orbiting the planet. 

We see the beam as it was about to strike down in a heavily populated city when it'd began fizzing out and cut off before it could reach the tallest of the buildings there saving the lives of everyone that lived there. 

They'd slowly then began to shrink back down to their normal sizes with Armo-Grade being at the main core and stating "Only bring the life support systems back online, do not reactivate the core fully. We don't want it being fired again." and the people working the area nodded in response. 

Meanwhile up top Ship and Upgrade had moved themselves from the panels and reforms into their normal states with both sighing in exhaustion from rushing it and Upgrade had changed back into Ben when they'd heard the watchtower's emergency communications line going off. 

Ben picked up the call and sighed from whoever was on the other end. "Look I know this looks bad, but it wasn't us that fired it. It was remotely hacked to launch, I was able to trace the signal and we'll be going to stop them soon." He'd then hung up with a sigh and then spoke into his com piece "Diana, Lok, meeting in the main conference room now. You too J'onn." and then began walking off to meet up with them. 

We then see the four of them meeting up and Lok questioning "What have we done here?" with a sigh about how it'd almost caused a lot of damage. 

"We haven't done anything, it was an outside force that took control of the cannon." J'onn stated to them all. "Whoever is behind that is responsible for the attack." 

"The people are terrified of the fusion cannon, and they have a right to be." Ben stated to them saying that he'd been able to send a communication down to them. 

"I think we should make a gesture of cooperation. I suggest we dismantle the binary fusion generator at least until our innocence is proven." Diana questioned just what they were meant to do now while the others were doing that. 

"That won't be enough, there's one more thing we could do as a show of good faith." Lok stated standing up and the others nod in agreement. 

We then see the other heroes working on the systems along with staff for the watchtower when they hear Ben calling "Your attention please, we have an announcement to make." with all the others looking over at him as he'd continued on stating "Until the mastermind behind the attack is located the founding members on the watchtower at the time of incident will be turning ourselves over to the government as a show of good faith." 

"Your orders are to dismantle the cannon while we are away." Lok stated to them all while the people were all mummering about what they'd said. 

They'd had Ship take over a docking bay door and manually open it leaving with the use of a Javelin and we then see they were talking to Dan and Spider-Man on communications screen. 

"I'm sending the coordinates now, the two of you will need to find our hacker and take them down while the rest of us play nice for the time being." Lok stated to the both of them while sending over the information. 

"Got it, we'll investigate." Dan stated and cut the feed as Spider-Man also does the same and the rest of them go willingly to sit in a holding facility until this mess is cleared up. 

When Dan and Spider-Man got to the facility the latter states "Damn it Norman, you had one chance." as they'd gone inside to investigate where they'd found Norman alright, but he wasn't in the Goblin attire. There were red pattern stripes like the circuitry patterns found on Galvanic Mechamorphs. 

"What in the?" Dan questioned seeing this as we take note that Norman's eyes had been black in color and seemed to be moving out over his face and various parts of his skin.

He'd let out a violent scream as his body was torn and altered as dual voices were stating "I had been hoping to keep myself hidden from you longer, until a new body could be complete. But you've forced my hand and I've had to make do with the nanomachines in the chest plate to run myself through this human in order to take control." while ripping apart the body in various places causing tendrils to appear from the arms and take over the hands of Norman's body entirely. 

"Guys, we need you here like NOW!" Spider-Man then stated into the com telling the others that they'd needed help to take down this thing. 

They'd created tendrils that surrounded both Spider-Man and Dan Phantom then proceeded to escape forcefully creating jets from the back of the chest plate he'd been in and flown off as Dan had phased the two of them out and was going to chase after when they'd met up with the others. 

"Norman's been taken over by whatever was used to make his chest plate." The Wallcrawler stated to them. 

"Malware, we'd thought he was truly dead but there was just enough of his body left to form a clump that was stolen when Ultrahumanite created the chest plate, must have had enough of him in it that he was able to reconstitute." Ben stated frustrated "He'll be looking for the most advanced tech he can find other than the Omnitrix first." 

"The dark heart." Lok stated in response and Ben nodded as they'd all gone to try to stop Malware from getting everything. 

"The others are still working on the dismantling process and there are no ground troops available it'll just be the six of us to take down Malware." J'onn J'onzz stated to them as they'd been headed straight to there. 

The building they'd landed next to had massive heat coming from it as there'd been some explosions as it began to change and move creating liquid metal from all around it to become shaped into a new form and created robotic counterparts to the six of them and they'd began fighting against them. 

The robotic duplicates were trying to get into the heads of the heroes with the Spider-Man duplicate stating "We don't belong among the world's greatest heroes." 

"Says you." Spider-Man stated to his robotic duplicate and slammed his fist through them and out the other side and they'd closed around his arm before exploding damaging his costume and arm in the process but it wasn't strong enough to do permanent damage leaving his arm burned by the explosion along with a bit of his face as it'd caused one of the eyes of his mask to rip apart in the process. 

"You know we don't belong here, we never should have left Themyscira." The robot of Wonder Woman was stating while they were fighting.

"The Imperium would have destroyed the whole planet and that includes Themyscira, I did what I thought was right!" Diana stated punching the head off of her bot. 

"What good can you do with that sword exactly? Without those magic charms to draw out those creatures what good are you?" Lok's doppelganger then questioned him. 

"I'm the Champion of Casterwill, Chosen Knight, and husband of the Queen of the Casterwill family." Lok stated back as his eyes flashed to purple and he'd activated the Willblade with it growing outwards to his full size. "AND I'M THE INHERRITOR OF THE WILL OF THE FALLEN, NOW GET OUR OF MY WAY!" He'd then swung the Willblade and a slash of purple energy cleaved his robot copy into two. 

"Why don't we return to Mars, after all Earth has plenty of heroes. Isn't it time we give up playing the humans games?" The copy of J'onn questioned them before adding "It's not like we have a family on either planet after all." 

"You're wrong about that. I have family here on Earth." J'onn stated back phasing through his duplicate before becoming solid on the other side and ripped off their head. 

"Why be the hero, you know you're meant to play the villain after all. It's in your nature." Dan's copy questioned having knocked him onto the ground when a spiked mace had bashed through their back and out the chest as Dan grabbed at it and swung it downwards bashing down and breaking through from the head all the way down splitting it into two. 

"Need a hand big guy?" Shayera Hol had questioned holding out her hand and he'd been surprised to see her there but accepted her help. 

"I thought you were still finding yourself." Dan stated as she'd helped him up and he handed back her mace. 

"I was, but I couldn't just leave all of you dealing with this." She'd stated back as they'd gone to regroup with the others. 

"You think you can lead all those heroes, but yet here you are fighting with the one that ripped away Feedback when you were ten. Face it you've learned nothing in all this time." The copy of Ben stated to the original. 

"Show's what you know. I've learned plenty, and Malware, I know you're listening through this thing. There's something you failed to account for." Ben answered back as the bits of the robot duplicates began to rebuild around them. 

"And what's that exactly?" The robot duplicate and Malware questioned as the duplicates the others beat began to multiply all around them. 

Ben activated the Omnitrix dial and states "I'm stronger than you think." before hitting it down and changing into a humanoid form with three prongs coming from their head that were either a headdress of some sort, or horns, with the way that they were it was difficult to say. There were star clusters inside of the transformation as well. 

"Is that.. Alien X?" Shayera questioned seeing the transformation that was now in front of them and they'd nodded in response to her question. 

"Seconded, unanimous vote, motion carries." Alien X had stated to them as they'd pointed their hand forwards and then moving upwards. 

Alien X had ripped out the dark heart from them and began to rip away all of the machines and the duplicate bots and crushed them, condensing them into an orb launching them towards the sky and the orb had blasted past the watchtower further out and into the sun where it'd burned away upon impact. 

Alien X then changed back into Ben and looked over at the Malware Osborn fusion and looked smug enraging them that they could no longer use the dark heart to convert the whole planet into the materials for their plans. 

"I CAN STILL DESTROY Y" The fusion of the two called pointing their arm in the form of a blasted at them but was cut off from what they were saying as Shayera had bashed their arm at the elbow and breaking it off with their forearm and the blaster. 

Lok had come in and sent a slash of purple energy that lopped the other one off at the shoulder joint next. This was followed by Wonder Woman then grabbing and throwing him at some of the stone debris and J'onn had picked up phasing through the stone and grabbing Malware on the other side as he'd solidified flying upwards and slamming them into the ground. 

They'd busted so much off of him that Norman could be seen from underneath as he'd been groaning in pain Spider-Man had webbed Norman and started pulling hard while trying to get him free but Malware wasn't giving up without a fight and Dan had grabbed Malware's bits and began making them intangible and allowing Spider-Man to pull Norman free. 

Ben walked over to the remains of Malware and Dan let go as he'd changed into Feedback and blasted every single bit of Malware that he could find, hopefully ending him for good. 

With Norman's testimony as to what actually happened the Front Lines were cleared of any wrong doings and there'd been a gathering at a large park that had the original seven all there up on a stage in order to make an announcement. 

"This is not a decision that is made lightly, but after long consideration we've come to the realization we no longer have what is in the best interest for the people at heart, and for that reason after dismantling the fusion cannon we've decided to decommission the watchtower and disband the Front Lines." Ben spoke into the microphone in front of him. 

"FORGET THAT!" Hotstreak surprisingly was the first one to speak up. "We'll find a new HQ if we have to, we aren't going to just split up like that just because you're getting old!" 

"Dude, not cool. But I do have to agree with Hotstreak, er, not about the getting old thing, but that we'll keep working together with or without you." Static stated in response to what Hotstreak said. 

"Hey, I created the communicators we use, I'm sure I could build something that could work alongside every other hero on the Front Lines too." Gear then volunteered to help out too. 

"DUDES WE CALL LEADER!" Agent Venom then called out waving their arm into the air as they'd done so. 

"You can't just call leader, I say we have a vote to decide leader." Anti-Venom then stated back to them annoyed. 

"Not a bad idea, I mean, if the original seven are retiring that is." Colonel Jupiter stated back while looking over at the original seven. 

Ben just let out a defeated sigh and turned towards the others looking between them and getting confirmation from the others silently. "Alright fine, but there will need to be changes an Embacy with rotating staff and a base located on Earth, no more watching from the skies." 

As Ben was talking about ideas for changes Lok had began to walk off which Spider-Man had noticed and went to speak with him stating "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" 

"Who guards the guardians?" Lok questioned looking out at the crowd of Front Line members and then back to the wallcrawler "I think you've all got that taken care of." 

We then fade off to see multiple heroes helping out in different locations while some were helping on constructing the new base on earth. We also fade off to Diana returning to visit her mother and the other amazons, and then fade to Dan with Shayera who where fighting off Giganta at the moment. 

Moving on we see Ben with Gwen as she'd handed him a pink stick and then moved her hand down her chest and then outwards in half circle shape around her stomach as he'd looked like he was completely caught off guard and was saying something to her lifting Gwen up into the air and spinning around before setting her back down as the two shared a kiss. He'd mouthed something else, but then Gwen mouthed something holding up her index and middle fingers on her right hand and moved them back and forth with Ben then reaching for the couch behind him and falling onto it hard before then onto his side with Gwen just laughing at him being over dramatic. 

We then see a middle aged looking man alongside a middle aged looking woman walking along the Great Wall of China and the man had seemed to get a message through a com. Though we do not hear what they are saying the man spoken to the woman who'd nodded her approval with the man then running off and taking into the skies changing form into that of J'onn J'onzz, seems that he'd finally moved on and started a new life on earth truly a new start with a new partner. 

Fading away we see Peter standing beside Liz and he'd taken a deep breath and knocked on the door in front of them with Peter's Aunt May answering and letting them in. They then go to sit in the living room chatting about something when Peter finally took out his mask and showed it to her, though Aunt May seemed to have thought it was some sort of a joke and began to laugh. That was until Peter then stood up and jumped onto the ceiling hanging there before then moving down a webline to be in front of her. This had seemingly taken Aunt May by surprise and Peter dropped back down and sat beside Liz waiting for whatever was to come with the two looking at one another. 

Surprisingly Aunt May instead of freaking out or possibly having a heart attack started scolding Peter and he'd just kind of looked awkward as she'd been doing so, and then we finally move on to Lok who had gone home and headed inside. He'd taken off the Willblade sheath and all and had placed it on a mantle above their fireplace while looking tired. 

He'd then turned to head off as Sophie had been relaxing by the pool and seemed surprised to see him back so early with him sitting down next to her as she'd rubbed his shoulders while they were talking helping him relax as she'd moved her hands down to the middle of his back and then shoved him into the pool as she'd laughed at him. Lok held out his hand to be helped up but instead had pulled Sophie into the pool with him and laughing in response. 

The two had been splashing one another while laughing as we then slowly fade back into the home with the gem on the Willblade shining and then we move further to when the new base had finally been completed and all the heroes that were a part of the team had taken a photo together in the front of it and the photo slowly starts to fade over time with the colors starting to dull and an older looking Albedo had slapped together his Biomnitrix with a blinding green flash closing us out and leading to the end of the Story of the Second Wave.
