The Front Lines: Second Wave Season 01 Episode 01

Spider-Man had gone to investigate some sort of break in and he'd been wearing a new costume with gold across it in the shape of a spider along with golden bands, though the rest was a lot like his old ones. He'd discovered things all around him that was rather old and medieval in design and used the spider signal as a flashlight to look around the place and discovered a book with a page torn out of it. 

He'd gone over and picked up the book turning off his spider signal as he does so and begins reading what was pulled up stating "The Philosopher's Stone.." 

"According to legend, it was a gem on the hilt of Excalibur itself, and was the true sours of the sword's fabled power." A man spoke walking over towards them. 

"And you are?" The wallcrawler questioned looking at the man but having no idea just who he is exactly. 

"My name is Jason Blood, I'm a friend of the owner of this place." Was the answer that he'd gotten in response. 

"You mean the babbling old man?" Spider-Man questioned him about that particular thing going on. 

"He's thirty two years old, and an expert in Arthurian lore." The guy known as Jason Blood answered back about them. "Morgaine Le Fay, when Camelot fell Merlin was able to hide the stone from her. Now she's trying to track it down again." 

"And what's her end goal?" The webslinger questioned just what exactly she'd intended to do with it exactly. 

"She intends to resurrect Camelot and put her son Mordred on the throne." He'd answered back about what she wanted "She's far too close to finding it." 

We move to sometime later as Spider-Man had gone with Jason Blood to a castle where the latter had led him over to a stone arc and had touched the bottom of it with his hand glowing in response to whatever he was trying to do. 

"They've been here, but they don't have the stone." Jason stated to Spider-Man as the weapons hung up for decorations began to glow. 

With his spider sense going off the wallcrawler jumped to the side and grabbed Jason as he'd done so with the weapons stabbing down where they just were. "Jason, get the door!" He'd stated and fired webbing at the weapons. 

The man had run off to check the door but called out "It's locked!" however Spider-Man had called out "Not for long!" 

He'd taken one of the mace weapons that were attacking him by the handled and forcefully thrown it as hard as he could sending it busting through the locks on the door, and through the wall down the hall, and the wall of the room just past it, and of the room after that, and it had just kept going until it'd busted through the outer wall of the castle and dropped out into the field leaving a skid mark. 

Jason Blood looked through the hole and saw it went all the way through to the outside then back at Spider-Man who simply stated "Um.. Oops." before dodging more weapons and the knights began to animate and attack them all at once. 

"Enough of this! Change, change, O’ form of man. Free the prince forever damned, free the might from fleshy mire, boil the blood in the heart of fire. Gone, gone, O’ form of man. Rise the demon Etrigan!" Jason Blood called out as his body had burs into flame and forcibly changed his body into that of a demonic appearance. 

"Perhaps you'll surrender" Etrigan began to state to the armor that just continued coming "No? Then burn to ash by the accursed Inferno!" the demon then blasted fire at everything as Spider-Man jumped up onto the ceiling as all the weapons and armor burned to ash. 

"Etrigan was it? Spider-Man questioned coming down to speak with them. "A little warning next time, now what do we do about uh, what did Jason call her?" 

"Morgaine Le Fay that witch has no art, I can't wait to feast on her cold dead heart!" Etrigan spoke with a growl while picking up some of the ashes and squeezing them before letting it slip through his fingers. 

"Um.. okay, well if it's as important as you say then we'd better call for backup." The wallcrawler stated to him. 

Fading to sometime later we see that Ben and Gwen Tennyson were there, along with Wonder Woman, who'd been the one to speak first after everything was explained as she questions "Okay so you say that you've been trailing Le Fay for centuries?" 

"In an unending game of cat and mouse, but one day I'll see to it that I end her house." Etrigan stated back to them though his statement had seemed to cause some confusion. 

"Ending the house of someone means you want to wipe out the entire family." Gwen had explained since language like that was a part of her mystic studies. 

"How has she managed to avoid you for so long?" Ben questioned Etrigan about just how she'd managed to get away so often. 

"The witch has an amulet that she wears here." the demon began to explain placing his hand towards the middle of his chest just under his neck before continuing "The damned thing glows when I draw near!" he'd then gotten louder almost yelling about what the amulet did being frustrated by it. 

"Maybe you should try another approach." Gwen suggested to Etrigan about trying something different than what he usually does. "Is there anything of hers that I could use to find them?" 

"Um, what about that? Not exactly hers but I mean she'd used magic to make it attack us so.." Spider-Man suggested gesturing to the mace he'd thrown out earlier. 

"That'll work." She answered back an Wonder Woman went and brought it over. 

Gwen had started using the spell to try to track them and began to float along with making the object to the same. She'd had it moving and was floating along with it as they'd gone into the Javelin and used the tracking spell to point the way taking off into the air to find them. 

"Rook I need a cross reference search for Castle Branek and Philosopher's Stone." Ben spoke pulling up Rook on the video com asking for them to search through it. 

"Checking now." Rook answered back going through the information for a moment before stating "Castle Branek, excavated shortly after world war two. The only surviving member is Harvey Hickman." 

"You guys keep tracking Morgaine Le Fay, Diana and I will go to check out Hickman's residence. Rook send the coordinates to my badge." Ben spoke as the others nodded in response. 

"I'm sending them your way now." Rook stated to them and sent over the data for them to use for the mission. 

Ben had confirmed getting the information and Rook cut the feed and then both Ben and Diana dropped out through a hatch in the Javelin with Ben changing into Astrodactyl and the two had flown off to where the man would be while the others had been tracking Morgaine Le Fay.

The two had gone to the mansion and found that there seemed to something involving dressing in costumes going on, most likely costume party. The two had moved up towards the steps as security had been checking information. 

"Wait, Harv Hickman the magazine publisher?" Astrodactyl questions at the mansion as they'd landed next to some cars in front of a mansion. 

"You know his work?" Diana questioned looking at him wondering about what kind of work they do. 

"Me no, but Charmcaster does, says she reads it for the articles." He'd answered back and the two began heading up to the steps. 

"Are you on the list?" The security bouncer there questions as they'd walked up to the front entrance to get inside. 

"Ben Tennyson." Astrodactyl spoke though the guy didn't convinced hearing that, until he'd timed out in front of them. 

"Um.. go on in." He'd stated moving out of the way as Ben and Wonder Woman then went on in to speak with Harv. 

"Ben Tennyson as I live and breathe, never thought you'd pay little old me a visit. I was just admiring one of my most prized possessions, a genuine Greek"Roman, the statue is a Roman copy." An elder man in a robe stated but was cut off by Wonder Woman. 

"How do you know that?" The man questioned looking at her wondering just what made her so confident. 

"Just trust her on this one, it's possible she could have posed for the original." Ben stated in response to their question. "But we're actually hear for anything you might have found from the castle excavation." 

"Oh sure." The man stated indicating he was Hickman "C'mon and I'll show you." he'd then led them off to a private bedroom where there was a rectangular cube sitting on the head of his bed. "When I was working on the excavation I found this, and then pretty soon I had everything I'd ever wanted." 

A powerful blast of air came in and blown them to the opposite side of the room as a woman and a child came in and she'd nodded to the door making it shut and had noticed the stone moving towards it as we see a green flash off in the distance.  "Finally after all these years of searching it's all mine!" The woman stated going to take it but when she'd gone to touch it a barrier appeared around it and delivered a painful electrical shock causing her to move back away from it. 

"What sorcery is this?" The kid questioned as we see Roadblock there with his hand outstretched. 

"That would be my doing." Roadblock stated to them with a smirk as Wonder Woman had flown towards the woman and struck her in the mask knocking her away and out through the window and he'd then called "Diana take the stone!" 

Nodding Wonder Woman went over and Roadblock dropped the shield and thrown up a barrier around the kid who'd had no choice but to teleport away. The woman stood up from where she was out on the lawn and called out "Come to me!" using her powers to draw the stone closer to her while Diana tried to fight it. 

A burst of fire shot the woman in the back and they see Etrigan there calling out "What are you doing, get away, take the stone far from Morgaine Le Fay!" 

"I've got a better idea." Ben spoke hitting the Omnitrix and changing into Murk Upchuck launching out his tongue and wrapping it around the stone as Diana had been grossed out because he'd also licked her hands in the process. Still he'd pulled it into his mouth and swallowed it. 

Seeing this had surprised Morgaine Le Fay who'd then gotten up and demanded "SPIT THAT OUT GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW!" frustrated about being so close and still failing in her question. 

"You want it? You got it!" Upchuck called out spitting it out as one big blast at her intending to just straight up use it against her though the kid had appeared and grabbed the woman before vanishing in the process. 

"Think they're gone?" Gwen questioned as she'd come over along with Spider-Man wondering about what just happened. 

"The witch still lives and that's a fact, that little brat Mordred had saw to that." Etrigan stated to them about La Fay and the kid, Mordred, but surviving the attack. 

"So now that she can't get the stone anymore what will you do?" Spider-Man questions Etrigan about what he'd be doing next. 

"Since the battle's fought and won, Jason Blood with me is done." Etrigan spoke changing back into Jason Blood. 

Jason looked to the others and stated "If you ever need my knowledge of the various magics, there's a good chance you'll find me at the Northampton pub in Camden." and then had started to stroll off to make his own way. 

"So just to be clear, we're not letting Etrigan join right?" the wall crawler questioned once he was completely out of sight. 

"I doubt he'd even accept if we did, but it's probably best we let others get used to some of the weirder stuff before introducing them to a straight up demon from hell." Ben answered back about that.
