a little push

Miles sat at his desk, sketchbook open at a blank page. No matter what he did, nothing felt right. He held his pencil in his hand, tapping it against the sheet. "You okay, dude?" Miles shook his head and dropped the pencil, facing Ganke. "What do you usually do when you're stuck on something, Ganke?" "I just drop it." "Wow, very helpful." Ganke stood near Miles, eyeing the blank sheet of paper. "I just don't know what to draw! I mean, I could draw Gwen again but.." He crossed his arms. "I dunno, man. I just don't have any solid ideas." "I think [Y/N] could help, isn't he like, gonna go to a college for arts or something? Just ask him to come over so he can help." "No way! Last time him and I hung out, I bombed it! He didn't talk to me for weeks!" "Dude, calm down. It's not that serious." "It is that serious! I get all nervous and sweaty around him, my senses start freaking out—start freaking out! That never happens around Gwen, and I just..I can't! Ganke only looked at him, already fishing his phone out his bag. "Ganke-" "Miles, dude! Seriously, it's gonna be okay."

Miles sat on his bed, watching you converse with Ganke, pointing at his monitor. "He's cute." "That's the enemy, dude! You're not suppose to find the enemy cute." Miles jolts when you turn to look at him, a smile on your face as you snicker, gesturing to Ganke. He doesn't talk, head tingling as you come closer and it feels unreal to see your smile widen as you take the space near Miles. "Hey." "Hi." Miles' voice comes out shrill and he swears he hears Ganke's hand clap against his mouth and muffle his snort. "You okay?" He gives Ganke a glare before turning back to you, 'nonchalantly' crossing his arms and smiling. "Yeah. I'm good."

"I'm gettin' ready to head home. Walk me out, Morales?" Miles can still feel the tingle in his brain and his hands going sweaty as you talk to him. Ganke gives him a look, nodding towards the door before turning back to his computer. "Oh, uh, yeah! Yeah, I can do that."

"Morales, you..doing okay? You were quiet for so long, I almost forgot you were even there." Miles considers to put a hand on your shoulder, follow the advice his uncle gave him, but flashes of how it turned out with Gwen made him grip his wrist with a strained smile. "I'm fine. I guess I'm just stressed?" 'Oh, yeah. I get that." You say, giving a nonchalant glance towards him as you reach your car. "Well this is it. Talk to you later, Miles." "Uh, hey. Wait." You turn around, a sweet smile on your face as you lean close to your door. It makes him sweat underneath his clothes, becoming lightheaded as you stand there and wait. "I.." "Yeah?" He lets out a breath, moves closer, and—"Wanna see a movie tomorrow? If..if you have the time. It's fine if you can't or don't wanna, I-I'd get it! I wouldn't care or anything..not like I-" "Yeah, I'd like that. What time?" He stops in his tracks for a moment, even looking from you to your car, and blinks. "You know what? Just text me. I'll see you tomorrow, Morales."

"God, dude. You suck at talking to him!" "Which is why I'm asking you for pointers!" Miles sat on his bed, his leg bouncing as Ganke looked at him with a scowl. "Come on, man. Please. I won't ask for anything else after this!" "You really want advice?" "Yes!" "Just..be yourself. I know, shocking." He groaned in frustration, rubbing his eyes. "I've been myself with Gwen and she left! What if [Y/N] does the same?" "Miles, didn't she have to go back to her own universe or whatever? Also, I'm sure he wouldn't do that. Just..be yourself, seriously." Ganke turned back to his game, leaning back into his chair as he did. "Also, he really like those stupid action movies. You know the ones."

Miles felt awkward. He was currently sitting next to you in your car, hands in his pockets as he snuck glances at you. "Somethin' on your mind, Morales?" "No! I mean, nah. I'm fine." He let his voice drop an octave, face warm as he sunk into his seat. "..Alright."

Miles was stuck in his head, sat next to you, watching the newest adaption of whatever movie this was. His spider-senses were aggravating, Miles' head tingled and ached everytime his hand brushed against yours by accident. Every silent laugh you'd give at any cheap joke the movie had made his heart pound, and the way you'd smile and turn to him had Miles so warm. He didn't even notice the movie was done until you started talking. "Mm, that was cool. How'd you know this kinda stuff was my favourite?" "..Lucky guess."

Now, Miles sat in your car again, nerves still sensitive as he started out the window. "Hey, wanna come to mine for a bit? My parents won't be home for a bit, so we'll have more time to hang out." He didn't miss the way your hand came to rest near his before going back to the steering wheel. "Of..of course."

"I really like you, Miles. You're a cute dude." You spoke, leaning on your couch as you look over to him. Miles could feel himself shake at your words, taking in rapid breaths as you scooted closer after a moment of silence. "I like you, too." "I didn't mean it in the friendly way, dude. I like you." You clarified. Miles only stared at you for a moment, eyes drifting towards your lips before you spoke up again. "Do you like me, too? Like..romantically?" "I.." He swallowed, head pounding as you got closer to him, overwhelming him with your presence. "I-I..I, uhm. I need to go to the bathroom." "It's on your ri-" Before you finished your sentence, you saw Miles dash to a random room, the door closing shut with a loud click.

"..He-" "Ganke! Dude, he just said he likes me." Miles heard shuffling from the other end, a sigh following. "Miles. We've talked about this before, dude." "Yeah, but we didn't talk about him being into me! Wha..what do I say, what do I do?!" His voice went shrill with nerves, holding his phone close to his ear as he sat on wherever he could. "Did you tell him how you feel?" "..No. I left so I could call you for advice first." "Miles, holy sh-..I'm hanging up." "No, w-" Miles looked at his phone with annoyance, seeing that Ganke had ended the call. Once he opened the door, he noticed just how quiet it was. "Oh, hey. I thought you sneaked out the window for a second th-" "I like you too. I really like you!" Miles blurts out, and you feel yourself start to laugh. "Miles, I like you, too! I've always liked you!"
