be okay
It was obvious you weren't okay, given by the red stains on your shirt. Pavitr could pass you to the paramedics with worried eyes.
How did you even get hurt?
"You're doing what?" Gayatri asks you, looking around herself to check that people aren't paying attention, then grab at your hand. "That's..no. You're not doing that." She tells you, looking at you with an exasperated expression as she grips her hand tighter. "Gayatri, you don't know if I'll die!" She flinches at your words, licking her lips and rubbing her glistening eyes, now growing visibly upset. "I-" "Hey! Gayatri, [Y/N]. How is everything going?" Pavitr breaks the moment with a hug, kissing his girlfriend on the cheek and giving you a wave full of smiles. You immediately perk up, giving Gayatri a small nod before talking to Pavitr as if you and Gayatri hadn't argued about what you should and shouldn't be doing.
"Please, just call me after, okay?" She still insists about your safety, even when you're buttoning up your shirt and slipping on your shoes. "I'll be okay, Gayatri. I promise." "Please be. You're like a sister to me, and I..I just-" She lets another sigh escape her, only breaking down once she runs up to hug you.
He wished he picked up on her expression sooner, wished he noticed how upset and how red her eyes looked, and how- Yelling interrupts his internal dialogue, and he runs into action, webs flying to the first thing he sees as he tries to resolve the wreck.
The next morning, you're not at school. "I told them to not go!" Gayatri cries into his shirt, and he subconsciously finds his hands around her, hugging her close and letting her soak his shirt in tears. "Gayatri, they'll be okay." He promises. Pavitr can't help but bite his tongue when she looks up at him with a heartbreaking look, repressing a sob as she dives back into his arms without another look or word. His heart feels like it sunk. "My..my father's going to take me to see her after school." She mumbles, leaning into Pavitr's touch as he goes to wipe stray tears from her face. "I can come with you, if..if Inspector Singh is okay with it." He offers with a smile, letting Gayatri hold his hand close. "I'd really like that. Thank you, Pavitr."
Gayatri and Pavitr stood next to one another, Inspector Singh being the one to talk to you. You didn't look that bad, despite all the bandages that wrapped around your body. Your voice was a bit hoarse, and your eyes had faint circles underneath it, but everything looked fine. As soon as Gayatri's father had moved away, Gayatri rushed to you. "I'm so happy you're okay! Please, don't do that again." She says, giving you a hug that makes you wince with a small laugh. "Gayatri, I won't!" "You better not, that was incredibly dangerous. What would your aunt think?" Inspector Singh spoke up, and you only give a small frown in response before turning to your friends again. Pavitr moves closer to you, taking your free hand and smiles at you, equally as relieved that you're okay. When he saw you, bleeding in his arms, he was so scared. "I'm glad you're okay."
