Prologue

A sharp crack and bright light fill the air as rain comes pouring down. Anyone that was out and about in New York made mad dashes to get inside or even get home. The weather forecast hadn’t said anything about a storm hitting the city. It had gotten dark and lightning cracked all over. There you sat on the roof of a building, watching as people made their mad dash to not get wet.

This weather had come out of nowhere, but it was rather good cover for the mission she’d been given by Nick Fury. There was someone who works for Hydra that needed to be taken out. Someone who was high in rank within hydra’s many operatives. Their name was Callum Pierce, the son of Alexander Pierce.

She moved freely between buildings jumping the big gaps, trying to find the young man within the crowds. Something that Fury had mentioned was that she may have to infiltrate a ball that Hydra was having in secret. She had Tony help her decipher where exactly it would be taking place. Now she sat atop the roof where she could hear the faint sound of classical music coming from inside. She climbs down into the alleyway, changing into something more appropriate for the ball.

Carefully and quickly she moved to enter the building, only to be stopped by one of the guards at the door.

“What’s your name?” He asked in a serious and calm tone tapping the clipboard he held. His eyes scanned over her narrowing slightly.

“I am Rea Willows. I should be on that list.” She spoke looking up at the tall man before her. Nat and Tony had both helped with getting her on the list with a fake name they’d come up with. She hoped that the man would let her through, and soon he did. She stepped past the man and was welcomed by the quite intricate architecture. As she moved through the building and through the crowd of various Hydra operatives, her eyes scanned every face as she was looking for Callum.

However it seemed that Callum soon found her. As she had caught his eyes from afar. He slowly walked through the crowd, getting wine glasses of red wine from one of the many servers in the room. He clears his throat as he holds out the wine glass.

"Hello, Would you like to share a drink with me?" He asked as he looked her up and down. She was a bit surprised that he came up to her on his own. She takes the wine glass in hand, giving a kind smile.

"Well, I can't see why not. And who are you?" She replied, taking a sip from her glass. Perhaps this mission would turn out to be quite easy. He was right there in front of her, all she had to do was eliminate him. But she knew that she had to be discreet, if anyone figured out who she truly was or why she was here. Then Hydra would surely have her head.

"I am Callum Pierce, son of Alexander Pierce. And who might you be?" He gave her wink as he swirled the wine in the glass he held.

"You may call me Rea Willows, I am a well known assassin for Hydra." She stated as she now looked him up and down. She wasn't at all phased by his attempt to flirt.

"Would you care for a dance?" His tone of voice was inviting. He set his glass down and held out his hand. She did the same and took his hand. She would have to play along for the time being until she was able to pull him away from the party.

"I will entertain a dance with you." She responds by taking his hand. She allows him to lead her to the dance floor, and as the music begins to play they dance. Everyone's eyes were on them as they moved across the dance floor. She smiled as she acted as if she was enjoying herself with him.

As the music came to an end, she leaned up to whisper in his ear.

"Care to go someplace private?" She invited, as she began to move away from the dance floor. Callum was keeping his eyes on her as he soon followed her. He didn't know what she had in store for him.

As she entered an empty room, she situated herself in a provocative pose. She needed him to try and make a move on her for this to work out. As Callum came into the room, his eyes fell onto her. He was drawn in by her looks and how she was showing herself. He makes an advance towards her, placing his hands on her waist. She didn't like that feeling of his hands on her body, it sent a shiver down her spine. Then he leaned in to kiss her, his lips smashing against hers. She was shocked that he had the audacity to do such a thing.

She kisses him back however, as she moves her hand to lift her dress skirt. Her hand grips the hilt of a dagger, she pulls it from its leg holster. As he continues to kiss her, his tongue pushing into her mouth, she thrusts the dagger into his chest. This caused him to pull away coughing and gasping for air.

He looked as though he'd been betrayed. Which he had been. She smirked as she got up from the table she had posed on. She steps up to him placing a hand under his chin raising his face to look at her.

"If you hadn't been the son of the most vile and terrible person in the world…maybe we could have been something." She stated in a nonchalant tone. Then moved away towards one of the windows. As he collapsed to the floor she climbed out a window running as far from there as she could. The quinjet came down and as the hatch opened she was met with Nick Fury.
