Nikki felt the wind rush as she tumbled down the city scape, she webbed herself to a nearby skyscraper, halting her momentum to a sudden stop, she winced as she swung from one building to another, suddenly, she heard her web snap, she felt herself start crashing to the ground, only being stopped by a sudden web cushioning her fall, she opened her eyes and looked up too see.. Spider-Pop, she sighed with relief as she narrowly got back up on her feet “Hey, M.”
Spider-Pop, or, Maxine, smiled “Hey, what’re you doing here?”
“Loooong story, that I’ll explain later, so what’ve you been up too?”
“Nothing much what about you?”
“Well, me and Gwen are sorta recruiting for thi-“ she slipped from the web she was using, crashing to the ground, coughing and wheezing
“You glitching or something? You don’t look like your glitching…”
“I-I’m fine, just got a cough..” she stumbled back up “Now, as I was saying, me and Gwen, not my Gwen, are in this team thing, yknow that miles kid she likes?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Wells he’s screwing up the multiverse or something, and we’re stopping Miguel from killing him.”
Maxine froze “And you want me, the member of the Spider-Society, to join you?”
“Pre-Pretty much.”
“Nikki you know how much is at stake here! I know what miles is doing, he’s messing with the canon, you don’t mess with that!”
Nikki sighed “What is the canon for gods sake?! I mean Gwen won’t tell me!”
“It doesn’t matter, not yet, but he can’t screw it up, we gotta let Miguel get to him.”
“M.”
“What?”
“If Miguel kills him, who’s to say there won’t be others like him, that wanna do it? We gonna kill them too? What kind of spider people are we if we kill people who disagree with our beliefs, we’re no better than the people we stop, our prowlers, our Goblins, our rhinos. Just… help us, help him, because that’s what a real spider person does..”
Maxine said “I hate you… what’s the Earth name where you’re all meeting up that”
“1952, and thank you, M.”
“You owe me, big time.”
Nikki nodded “I know, I know.”
“Alright, I’ll see you in a minute.” Pop flew back into the portal, as Nikki sighed, breaking back down onto the floor and wheezing
