Summary
Miguel didn't like much but he had a very short list.Number 1. As painful as it was to think about his kid. This needs no explanation.Number 2. Silence. The sound of absence was almost as great as its inverse until it wasn't, but Miguel has learned how to appreciate small moments. And finally Number 3. Peter B. Parker or most often "Parker" for when he feels emotionally repressed. In which Miguel like likes Peter B and hates himself all while balancing what he thinks is the end of every world on his insanely jacked shoulders.

You Never Leave, You Never Leave, You Never Leave

Miguel had learned how to deal with Peter bouts of emotions over time and so did Peter with Miguel. It's been a bit over a month and they'd still gone through they're fair share of ups and down because old habits die hard.

Miguel has a few times when he isn't the best at communication because as much as he loves Peter sometimes space is all anyone need and Peter gets that now so he doesn't take offense to it.

Peter also has these days but they deal with them by keeping close contact. Usually cuddling in a hammock that Miguel didn't bother taking down because he knows that Peter will be coming back.

That's something else that Miguel loves about Peter. It's something he learned to appreciate after thier first break. He appreciates it because he didn't before and Miguel knows that Peter wouldn't leave because they're finally acting like adults and so they talk things out.

So, to say that things had gotten better for Miguel after he made things official with Peter was and understatement. But there's no true way to surmise it he finds. They'd been on only a few dates because they're still heros, but there's no doubt that when they do go on them both parties are blushing fools.

Miguel doesn't mind because he'd rather be a fool with Peter than without him because he had tried that and it broke both of them. Lyla makes sure to reserve the finest burger joints for those dates and they even visit the dimension from Miguel's first foiled plan. They get there and the place is closed because it's late at night. So they don't actually eat there and they don't stargaze because Miguel was so upset and Peter understood that but that didn't stop him from laughing at his boyfriends face.

"Nothing works out for you huh!" Peter says hanging off Miguel's shoulder and the taller just huffs before opening a portal back to his office.

Miguel is actually upset and it takes Peter a bit to notice it he mostly realizes once he's done laughing in his face.

"Hey Mig. It's okay really It's the thought that counts."

"But this happens everytime!"

Peter kisses his cheek before webbing his way to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"I'll be back."

Peter is gone for a bit and Moguel thinks he blew it because to be fair. He did.

Lyla pokes fun at him.

"You want me to schedule another dinner at midnight tomorrow?"

"Why would I do that on purpose?"

"Because it's funny how bad you are at planning things."

Miguel swats at her and she disperses a bit. They argue for a bit because that's what they do and then Peter peeks through the door.

"Hey if you guys are done arguing then follow me!"

Miguel immediately stands uo and moves towards Peter.

"I've never seen someone so smitten." Lyla says to herself smiling.

They walk for a bit and it's long enough for Miguel to wonder where in the hell they were going. Miguel thinks he should've complained a few minutes ago because the second he does so they arrive at two doors. Peter pushes them open holding it open for him and Moguel deadpans.

"The cafeteria?"

"Yeah."

"Why did it take so long to get here?"

"I took you the long way."

"Why the hell would you do that it's a much shorter walk if you go the normal way."

"I needed to stall for time."

After Peter says that Miguel who was previously distracted notices a slight glow coming from thier table on the other side of the cafeteria.

Miguel understands the implications of a single glow from a table but it doesn't register with him until he's infront if the table and Peter taps his arm with a proud smile in his face.

"I'm not as great as you are when it comes to planning things but you don't get married without being good at romantic things."

"Didn't you also get divorced?"

"What is up with people and technicalities."

"Its a pretty important one."

"Whatever! The point is this is something romantic."

Miguel smiles because he supposes that Peter is right and also because he's in love with a fool. He let's Peter guide him to one seat before Peter takes his own. They sit there for a bit and Peter throws glances towards the kitchen.

"So. How's the weather?"

"What did I tell you about small talk."

Peter taps his nails on the table uncomfortable with the silence and Miguel grabs it. Partially because he can't stand the sound and partially because he doesn't like Peter being nervous. They look at eachother and the tension behind Peters eyes die.

Miguel can't help but feel thankful for the soft light of the candle because he's never seen Peter in this light and god he looks stunning. There's a twinkle in both of thier eyes and everything calms down. Their palms touch and they smile at eachother.

It's a tender moment and they almost kiss but there's a candle in front if them so they stick woth words of affirmation.

"I love you." Peter whispers and it send Miguel's eyes anywhere but his.

Miguel was getting better at affection after so many years of closing himself off from anything positive so he whispers.

"I love you too."

Suddenly the sound of doors opening startles them.

"Hey guys!" Peter, the lunchman variant, crashes through the doors.

"Hello. Peter." Peter, the Miguel's boyfriend, variant says.

"I made these as fast as I could but you really need to ask for this stuff in advanced man. I'm a busy man."

"OK Peter. I'm sorry."

Miguel stifles a laugh at Peters reaction to, well Peter.

"Yes you are."

"Thank you."

"No problem. Hey Miguel long time no see!"

"Hello Peter." Miguel says it with a smile and Peter doesn't let that go.

"Wow. I think that's the first time you've smiled at me. Well anyway you two have a nice dinner." Peter says raising the tray up to his nose before winking at the both of them. Peter doesn't try to conceal the slight irritation on his face and Miguek doesn't hide his amusement.

Because right now they're alone in the normally packed cafeteria enjoying a candle lit dinner just enjoying what they are and what they have. There's a gleam of the moon through the large windows that tower over them both and things couldn't be more perfect. So they eat while chatting idly about whatever they want.

They laugh loud and Miguel laughs louder because there's no one here so he doesn't have to worry about being anyone's boss. They eat but they sit there long after they're done eating. The cafeteria is wreaked with laughter and whispers followed by interrupting snorts. Peter was right, he was pretty damn good at romantic stuff. Miguel is a testament of that.

They're cute together and thats testament to lunch man Peter, who is watching them with his face pressed against the windows of the kitchen door.

Also in there is Jessica who was way to nosy to not spy on Miguel after his updated relationship status. She cant believe what she's seeing and she's quick to snap pictures of Miguel looking like a person for once. Recently she had been added into the groupchat by Gwen and they were gonna eat this up.

She post the pictures before texting.

'Reminder that these do not leave this chat Miguel will literally kill us if anyone finds out about this.'

They all disregard her and start talking. Some of it making fun of them but most of it being compliments.

There's no end to the teasing that happens in the chat and when they finally see the two in person it will only follow over. And Miguel will try to get mad to cover his embarrassment but Peter won't let him which will only further embarrass him.

But they aren't being ruthlessly teased and prodded at out of curiosity, so they sit and love oblivious to their growing fan club.

They end the night back at Miguel's lab and they're still cracking their stupid jokes because they're both really stupid.

"God, I love you."

Love isn't enough to describe it but they'll take it because they were never really good at using their words.

Miguel wraps an arm around Peter and pulls him in for a peck and it's only a second but it leaves his ears red and his nose equally as saturated.

"I love you too Peter."

There's an unspoken promise made between the both of them and they spend the rest of the night like that tangled up in literally webs and secrets that wouldnt leave the room.
