Note
I have yet to actually watch "across the spiderverse" so no spoilers please, I already get enough of that on TikTok T-TMy oc is from our universe, Earth 1218, where superheroes and anything with powers are just in comic books. My oc has a hyperfixation on Marvel Comics and comics in general (I actually don't read comic books, so this might be hard.)I don't own Spider-Man, the characters, nor do I own the gifs/pictures used in this book, this is just for entertainment only

Chapter Two

Earth 1218

Year: 2013

After the eventful day at the flower shop, Dawn made her way back to her apartment that was on the other side of New York. She rode her bike, a smile on her face as her mood slowly picked up as she made her way home. Tomorrow is her day off, so she can just stay home in bed and watch movies all day, specifically all of the Spider-Man movies. She could spend her tomorrow off with Pete, but she'd rather stay home and recharge before being social again.

As she finally made it to her apartment complex, she got off her bike and walked over towards the bike rack, locking it up before heading to the stairs to the second floor. As she walked, she fished into her bag, trying to find her keys before she had bumped into a large form causing her to fall to her butt with a thud.

"Ow! Watch where you're going ass - Miguel!" Dawn exclaimed in surprise, her eyes going wide at seeing the slightly larger form of Miguel standing over her with a sheepish smile.

"Sorry amor, I didn't look where I was going," the man spoke, holding his hand out and helping Dawn up. She smiled nervously up at the older man.

"It's fine Miguel, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. Again," She sighed, letting his hand go and rubbing the back of her neck. Miguel chuckled at her.

"It's tough paying attention to your surroundings, especially when they're so boring," he groaned, causing Dawn to laugh at him.

"So, how's things with Xina going?" Dawn asked. Miguel smiled at the mention of his wife's name.

"She's doing good, she's been wondering when you're gonna visit again for dinner," he said. Dawn merely chuckled awkwardly.

"Yeah, sorry for not visiting as much anymore, kind of busy at the moment. But I'm free this weekend, I could totally come over for dinner," Dawn said, finger gunning at him. Miguel looked at her and grinned.

"Great! I'll tell Xina! Alright, I've kept you long enough, have a good night Dawn." He said, walking past her, his calloused hands ruffling her hair underneath her Spider-Man beanie. She swatted his hand away with a smile, fixing her beanie.

"Same to you too, you big lug," she called, before putting her hand back into her bag and taking out her keys, unbeknownst to her, a tiny little brown spider had climbed up her arm. She walked towards her door and unlocked it, taking her shoes off and walking into the small cozy apartment.

She dropped her bag on the couch, going to the restroom so she could quickly change into her PJ's, which consisted of grey baggy sweatpants and a plain white T-Shirt, her beanie going back to its original spot. She went to her sink, the toothbrush now in her hands as she put the toothpaste onto it. She brushed her teeth, humming to a song that was stuck in her head, as she continued brushing her teeth, she didn't seem to feel the little legs of the same spider crawl all the way up to her neck, perching itself there.

Dawn exclaimed in surprise once the spider bit into her neck, its fangs going into her olive skin. She dropped her toothbrush and whacked a hand to her neck, smacking the spider off of her. It fell to the sink, curled up and dead. She held her neck, going in close to its dead form, her eyes squinting at it. "I really hope you're not poisonous," she said, flicking it off of the sink with distaste.

Dawn sighed, plopping down on her bed as she stayed there, relaxing. Her stomach twisted in guilt though, for the way she was avoiding Miguel and Xina. She didn't mean to avoid them, she just didn't want to see how happy they were, especially with a daughter on the way. She didn't want to do something to ruin their friendship, she loved both Xina and Miguel, though her love for them was different. She loved Xina like an older sister, and she loved Miguel more than just a friend. She hated the feelings she'd get just being around Miguel, so she avoided both of them all together. It was easier that way.

Suddenly, a glitching wormhole appeared above her, causing her to look at it with wide eyes. Her things in her room started to float, including herself. She was getting closer to the multicolored wormhole, her heart hammering inside of her chest. Her bag floated by her, to which she stretched her arm out and grabbed it, putting it around her shoulders as she tried to get away from the wormhole, but she couldn't. She shouted for help, but the thing above her sucked her inside, her screams of fright fading away as the wormhole closed, dropping all of her things.
