Kaine collapsed onto his couch and removed his mask. Why did there have to be so much crime whenever it was this hot in Houston? The Scarlet Spider was ready to close his eyes and drift away to sleep when a portal opened up right there in his living room.
"God dammit..." Kaine grumbled. Just what he needed. Another multiversal threat. Before he could get up, Miguel walked through and raised his hand, gesturing that Kaine stay where he was. The portal closed behind Miguel as he stood there in silence. "Uh, Migs? You okay?"
The futuristic hero's mask retracted to reveal a tired face underneath, one full of stress and fatigue. Just one look and Kaine knew what Miguel wanted. He moved a little to give his boyfriend some room on the couch. Miguel sat down beside Kaine and almost immediately collapsed onto his boyfriend, his face buried into the clone's neck as he whined softly.
Kaine wrapped his arms around Miguel. "Long day, O'Hara?"
Miguel just responded with a nod, face still buried in Kaine's neck.
Kaine gently pulled Miguel away so that he could caress his face. He made sure to be extra gentle with his touches, knowing that's what Miguel wanted and needed. Whenever the stress was too much, he wanted Kaine to treat him like he was fragile. To treat him like a precious porcelain figure. Miguel's eyes closed as his touch starved body was finally relaxed. Kaine gave a small smile as he watched his boyfriend melt in his hands. One hand moved to Miguel's shoulder while the other ran it's fingers though the other man's dark chestnut hair. It was hard to believe this is the same man that Kaine often saw taking down massive threats and losing his temper nearly every day.
"Not gonna lie, I kind of wish you were this cute all the time." Kaine joked, earning him a soft grumble from Miguel.
"Don't push it." Miguel said before leaning into Kaine and nuzzling into his chest. Kaine continued petting his boyfriend.
Kaine leaned back, letting Miguel cuddle on top of him. Both of them letting sleep overtake them and the day's stress fade away.
