Two Time
"Your mom." She mumbled.
"...What?"
"What?"
"I asked you who you were." Miguel folds his arms and, impatiently, waits for Rooney to answer.
"I, uh, I'm...Rooney?" She mentally scolds herself for making it sound like a question.
Miguel looks at her with an expression that said 'i don't believe you' and steps closer to her. "You seem unsure."
"I am unsure." She retorted.
Miguel walks closer to Rooney and gets on her level. "I'm going to ask this one more time. Who the hell are you, kid? And why are you in my house?" He growled.
"I-I, uh-" Rooney stutters, dumbly. Unable to form sentences when a REALLY big and scary man is growling at her. 'Who does this guy think he is?!'
All of a sudden, Peter bursts out of his room and grumbles at the sight.
"Miguel. Leave her alone." He says it so nonchalantly, it's almost like he's had to witness something like this before.
"Peter..." Miguel immediately backs off from Rooney and stands at his normal height. He folds his arms once more and looked over at Peter. "Mind telling me who this is? And why she's here playing with our daughter?" Miguel says, sternly, while gesturing to Rooney's figure on the floor.
"Well," Peter starts as he picks up Mayday up from the floor, she giggles and babbles happily. "For starters, Her name is Rooney-"
"Yeah, I got that. What is he doing here?" Miguel is starting to become more annoyed by the second.
"Well if you would let me talk you would know!" Peter laughed at his husband's behavior. Miguel may seem like a hard-shelled and intimidating guy, but Peter knows, deep down, Miguel is a sweetheart and doesn't mean any of his negative words. "Her parents are.... unavailable at the moment, and none of her family can take care of her. Her dad and I are friends, so I thought I could do him a favor by taking care of his girl!" Peter smiles happily, but Miguel's expression is the complete opposite.
"And you didn't think to tell me beforehand? Or even ask if it was okay with me?" Before Peter could respond, Miguel looked down at Rooney asked the question Peter was trying to prevent Rooney from ever answering.
"Where is your father?" There was a short pause before she answered Miguel's question.
"Rehab."
Now there was silence.
"And your mother? Where is she?"
Rooney just shrugs and looks towards the floor. Miguel can feel the anger slip from his mind, now understanding the situation. Although, he's still deeply annoyed by another presence he didn't plan for.
"I see. I'll be in my office. It was nice to meet you, Rooney."
Rooney gave him a slight glare, but did nothing else. 'what an asshole...' Rooney was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by Peter's voice and hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry about him, Rooney. He may seem mean right now but, trust me, he'll come around. In the mean time, I'll show you where you'll be staying for your time here!" Peter smiles, brightly. Never has she seen such an accepting person before.

(Time skip: Night Time)
Miguel and Peter get ready for bed, both doing their usual routine. But then, Miguel Peter into an embrace.
"I'm sorry for how I acted earlier, cariƱo" Miguel mumbled into his shoulder. In return, Peter kisses Miguel's head and holds him close.
"I know, my love, but I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. Rooney didn't deserve to get threatened by the big, bad, wolf." Peter laughs but his husband grumbles in response.
"I'll...I'll talk to her tomorrow when I get home from work..." He mumbles.
"There you go!" Peter praises Miguel before giving him a kiss on his lips, running his hands through that taller man's hair. Peter brings Miguel's, stupidly handsome, face into his hands. "I love you. Y'know that, right?"
Miguel smiles, softly, and puts his own hands on top of his darling's. "I know. Te amo tambiƩn..."
"Good. Now go to sleep. You'll be grumpy in the morning."
Miguel chuckles and drags the both of them into their shared bed and peppers kisses all over Peter's face. He couldn't be happier.
