Not home
“I’m Miles Morales. But you can call me The Prowler.” The alternate miles said.
Miles stared at his alternate self. Doppelgänger? But he held of the confusion back for a moment.
“If I don’t get home our Dad is gonna die-“
“Your Dad.” The doppel-Miles—er—prowler corrected him.
Miles shook his head. “ Please, you have let me go.”
”Why should I do that?” Prowler-Miles then pressed his gloved fist against the punching bag in a firm lock.
Prowler-Miles had a death stare at Miles.
Miles placed a finger on the chain as it started to spark with electricity. The chains dropped and Miles sprang up and charged a fist of electricity with Prowler-Miles having a raised a clawed hand ready to strike. But then Miles glitched out, dubbing over as mix matched neon patterns consumed his body.
Prowler-Miles eyes widened with shock and worry at what just happened.
When Miles breathed, he saw his doppelgänger and disappeared.
Prowler quickly put on his mask and he whipped around when hearing glass being smashed.
Prowler and Aaron dashed over to the broken glass of a window. He gripped on the window frame gazing over the walls of the building. No sign of him.
“We need to get him.” Prowler said.
“What about the break in?” Aaron asked. They needed to get this done.
“It can wait. This other miles is gonna be dead soon.” Prowler growled.
* * * *
Miles breathed heavily from the glitch and escape.
He was in the wrong universe with his Uncle alive and his Dad dead. But that wasn’t his Uncle and Dad.
His spider senses blared 'danger' as a motorcycle rolled down the streets. Miles took cover under a building ledge as it drove past.
Miles stay at his spot in case The Prowler came. He probably waited longer than he needed to.
The rain ran down at the top of the ledge he was under. It made everything darker than it was suppose to be, fire competed with the green downpour. The only plus side was that the rain drowned out the screams and guns.
His city had crime but it seemed a lot safer with the police and Spider-Man. A city with no Spiderman.
But now wasn’t the time for comparisons because it isn’t getting him anywhere. Throughout his life Miles would compare himself with his loved ones and heroes, trying to be like them.
Miles shook off the rainy feelings and started walking around the city. He needed to find a way home fast so he can save his Dad.
’Okay Miles let’s think. Inter-dimensional travel, so the good thing is that the theory of parallel worlds is more solid now. And that it can also get more complicated. His teacher said that the parallel worlds are in fact parallel to each other in a way that a person can make different decisions causing a split to different timelines. When a person make decision another version can choose the different path.’ Miles’s brain kept going on about the multiverse until he found something useful.
Miguel said there was canon events that defined every spider to be Spiderman and if the events were to be broken it would cause the universe to collapse. But that wouldn’t any sense because there has to be Spiders that don’t follow the “canon” and what about Mayday, Peter’s world would get destroyed all because of him being inspired by him to have her.
But even if Miguel is right he still needs to try and save all of them.
. . .
With all the brain power was using he needed a simple plan to get out of here. Luckily he had a pretty short one.
First: Find someone smart that knows about dimensions so they can help to get him back to his universe.
Second: Build a way to get home fast.
Third: Make sure that The Prowler doesn’t find you.
He knows that this isn’t a concrete plan but he need at least something.
Luckily he found a building with a neon sign that said “Community Labs. We make science accessible to every survivor.”
Miles wondered how these survivors could last so long. The Prowler scared him, he could imagine something like that happening, again he had more help. When his Dad and Uncle came into the city they weren’t welcome so they became criminals. The Prowler could have a gang or something.
This Prowler could be ten times more dangerous because it was him. He could be stronger, faster and more reluctant to go down.
Miles venom started to spark uncontrollably, he took deep breaths to calm himself down.
”~Needless to say I keep in check. She was a bad bad nevertheless. Hmmm mmm hmm—baby I’m a wreck. Crash at my place baby you’re a wreak~”
The electricity dissipates and then Miles pulls on the door handle and into the building.
”~Hmmm hmmm some things we just can’t refuse. She wanna drive like a cruise and I’m not tryna lose~”
The music went off in his head when he saw the place. Inside people were being treated by food and medicines. Workers taking care of their needs and wants. He saw that some of them had technological enhancements to their bodies. It had a nice safe feeling to it compared to the rest of this world.
“Hey that’s a cool costume.” A voice complimented him.
Miles turned to the voice that gave the compliment, and it was Gwen.
Shoot.
