New Friend
"YOU ARE A SHAME TO THIS FAMILY!" Walburga spits out. "HOW DARE YOU TRY TO SHOW YOUR FACE AROUND HERE?! YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOUR NOT WELCOME HERE ANYMORE REGULUS!" She says venomously. "I-" She cuts him off with a slap across his face. Tears start welling up in his eyes. "OUT OF EVERY HOUSE, YOU GET SORTED INTO HUFFLEPUFF?!" Regulus feels tears start streaming down his cheeks. Walburga pulls out her wand, "CRUCIO". Regulus snaps awake, tears in his eyes. Well fuck, he thinks. His heart beating fast. Regulus looks at the clock, 5:10, it read. "I guess I should start getting ready for the day." he thinks to himself.
Regulus gets up trying not to disturb his other roommates while sneaking off to the showers.
-15 minutes later-
Regulus gets out of the showers with his uniform on even though he still had time left until breakfast. He decided to go down to the common room and read a book to pass time. He reads until it's 6:00, which is when most of the other Hufflepuffs start getting up to get ready. Regulus sees one of the boys that he bunks with sit down on the couch next to him. "Hi!" The boy says. "I'm Oliver, Oliver Wilson, what's your name?" "Regulus, Regulus black, nice to meet you Oliver." He says smiling while shaking Oliver's hand. "We should probably start heading to the Great Hall." Oliver says, "yeah, let's go." Regulus reply's with a smile on his face.
They walk out of the common room together and start talking about Hogwarts. "This place is huge! My parents are muggles so I don't really know much about magic." Oliver says. "Yeah, my family's pure blood so I should be used to this, but the place is so big it's like a maze!" Regulus says while looking around. "Wait- are you- apart of the Black family?" Oliver asks. "Like THE Black family?" Regulus quietly sighs, "yeah, that's my family." "I thought the Black family was full of Slytherins though?" "Well, it is but my brother, Sirius, was the first Black in centuries to get sorted into anything different." Regulus says. "And I was the first ever Black to ever get sorted into Hufflepuff." He adds. "Really? That must be hard for your parents." Oliver says, kicking a rock he saw. "Yeah. I don't how how my mother will react. When she found out Sirius got sorted into Gryffindor she was really mad" he says, sounding a bit upset. Their conversation comes to an end as they reach the Great Hall. "I have to go talk to my brother, I'll see you around." Regulus says as they walk in. "Okay, bye regulus!" Oliver says while they split. Regulus walks to the Gryffindor table.
"Hey Reg!" Sirius says as Regulus sits down next do him
"Hey." "Who was that kid you were talking to?" "Oh-uh his names Oliver, he's a first year. I'm sharing a room with him." He says. Sirius smiles at that and nods.
"So, what are you gonna do about Walburga?" He asks, changing the subject while stuffing food in his face. "Dunno." he says, shrugging. If he's going to be honest, he's pretty much accepted the fact that he's going to be in huge trouble when Walburga finds out. She probably already knows, but is waiting for a break to occur to bring it up. Still, Regulus can't help but be nervous for breaks. He knows how hard it was and still is for Sirius when he was sorted into Gryffindor. He knows how badly Sirius wants to leave, but he doesn't. Because of him. Sirius refuses to go without Regulus. He knows that if he leaves Regulus alone with Walburga, he would be hurt even more. Walburga doesn't exactly have a good reputation with children. "Well whatever happens I'm going to be right next to you the whole time, okay?" Sirius says while looking at Regulus with a slight smile on his face. Regulus slightly nods and smiles.
A boy who Regulus remembers from the train yesterday, James, he thinks his name was, sits down on the opposite side of Sirius and Regulus. "Mornin'." James says as he starts puts food on his plate. "Morning James." Sirius says as he grabs food off his plate and bites into it. Regulus looks at James. "Where's Remus?" Sirius asks. "He went to see madam Pomfrey, he's getting sick again." James says, sadly. "Oh." Sirius muttered. Regulus asked about Remus's illness curiously. Turns out, Remus got ill every month. He said it was because he had a muggle illness called epilepsy.
As lunch ended, everyone started heading to class. Sirius and Regulus splits up. Regulus first class of the day was History of Magic.
As Regulus reached History Of Magic, he saw Oliver sitting alone. He walks over to him and sits down on Oliver's right and says hello. They soon stop talking as the professor walks up and starts teaching.
