Bruce examined Peter thoroughly, using every medical resource at his disposal. He took blood samples, performed X-rays and evaluated every detail of his condition. During the process, he noticed something unusual in Peter's lungs, an abnormality that could be key to understanding his health status, but decided to hold it in reserve until he could get more precise confirmation.
In the meantime, Helen devoted herself tirelessly to caring for Peter along with the 15 specialized nurses. She administered more potent medications and treatments than usual, tailoring them to Peter's specific needs. Her experience with Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, allowed her to provide specialized and effective care.
As they worked together to care for Peter, Helen and Bruce shared whispered conversations, exchanging ideas and theories about his condition. Helen mentioned her surprise at how quickly the medications for the genetic condition seemed to take effect, even more so than in cases with earlier laboratory models. Bruce, however, decided to keep quiet about what he had noticed on the X-rays, opting to wait until he had more solid information before sharing his findings.
Hours passed and Peter began to show signs of gradual improvement. His fever began to break and his energy gradually returned. Although he was still not strong enough to participate in his usual heroic activities, he was grateful to have Helen and Bruce by his side. Their constant care and dedication provided him with a sense of security and support in the midst of his illness.
Meanwhile, Bruce continued to immerse himself in his research. He investigated Peter's x-ray findings, consulted with medical colleagues, and reviewed related studies. His determination to discover the truth was evident on his face, but he knew it was important to wait for a firm conclusion before sharing any information with Peter or Tony.
Tony had been helicoptering over Peter all night and in the morning decided it was time to approach the subject with Peter. He didn't think this was anything new.
"Excuse me Tony, give me a moment with Peter."
"What, what's up? I want to hear it."
"Sorry Tony, it's doctor-patient confidentiality."
"But... Tony. Give us a moment please."
Tony reluctantly left the room being led by Pepper into the kitchen to get something to eat.
Bruce, aware that he had discovered something important in Peter's x-rays. He knew it was necessary to approach the asthma issue, although Peter had not mentioned it to him before.
Sitting in a quiet medical room in Stark Tower, Bruce looked at Peter seriously, knowing he had to approach the matter delicately. Peter was curious but a little nervous, not knowing what to expect from the conversation.
"Bruce, is there something important you need to tell me?" asked Peter with a mixture of anxiety and confusion in his voice.
"Well..I'd like you to tell me, wouldn't you?"
"I...I don't have anything to say."
Bruce held up the X-rays as usual. Oh Boy, right there in the middle of the picture was everything.
"How do your lungs look to you?"
"Really nice..."
"Yeah well, you know...even more so when someone wants to hide something from two really prepared doctors."
"I don't know what you're talking about. It's the flu, isn't it?"
Shut up Peter, you're really going to fuck everything up. It's nothing, don't say anything. Bruce already knows.
Bruce nodded, keeping calm and empathetic in his expression. "Peter, while analyzing your x-rays, I noticed certain signs that indicate the presence of asthma in your lungs" he revealed, choosing his words carefully.
Oh boy, I am so screwed.
