Is it hot in here?
The sun was shining brightly in the sky as Peter awoke to face another day at school. However, something was different that morning. He felt sleepy and his body seemed heavy. Reluctantly, he got out of bed and prepared to face the day.
"Peter, I have detected a significant increase in your vital signs and body temperature patterns. According to my illness detection protocol, I must inform the chief of your condition."
Peter, feeling concerned and vulnerable, quickly replied, "No, FRIDAY. Don't tell Tony. I don't want to worry him."
"I'm sorry Peter, but according to the new protocol "Babe Underoos sick" I can't refuse to send information.
Determinedly, Peter picked up his phone and began hacking into the AI's system. He knew the ins and outs of FRIDAY's software and knew how to stop it from transmitting unwanted information.
"Sorry, FRIDAY, but I need you to keep this secret for now," Peter muttered as he dove into the AI's code.
As the morning progressed, the fever began to ravage his body. Every step seemed like a challenge, and his mind was clouded with sickness. Through it all, Peter clung to the idea of attending school, not wanting to miss classes or worry his friends and teachers.
As Peter got deeper into the hustle and bustle of the school day, his fever increased and his condition worsened. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and his energy seemed to drain rapidly. The hallways seemed longer and the voices of his classmates faded into a distant murmur. However, his determination was still intact.
As he walked through the halls, trying to keep his balance, he ran into MJ, his closest friend and confidant. She looked at him with concern in her eyes and, without a word, offered her shoulder for support.
"Peter, you look pale as a ghost, are you sure you should be here?" asked MJ with her usual frankness.
Peter sketched a weak smile and replied, "I can't miss class, MJ. I don't want to miss what's being taught, and I don't want to worry anyone."
MJ looked at him determinedly and said, "Peter, we all know you're a hero, but even heroes need to rest and take care of themselves. Let me take you to the infirmary. You need medical attention."
"Dont worry MJ" Peter just left the hall.
However, his condition was rapidly worsening. Peter was in math class, struggling to concentrate on the equations as sweat beaded on his forehead and his face turned pale. His classmates began to notice his condition and asked him if he was okay.
As Peter battled a fever at school, Ned and MJ began to notice his full pallor and tired appearance. Concerned for their friend, they decided to approach him and ask how he was feeling.
"Pete, are you okay? You look really really sick," Ned expressed uneasily, while MJ nodded with concern.
Peter, feeling a bit annoyed, weakly replied to them, "Don't worry, it's just a cold. I don't want you to get in trouble for me."
Ned and MJ exchanged knowing glances, aware that Peter didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble or worry. However, they couldn't help but feel guilty for not noticing it sooner.
"Peter, we are your friends. We're here to support you through good times and bad," MJ stated in a firm voice. "You shouldn't hide from us when you're sick."
Ned nodded in agreement. "You're right, Pete. We can't help you if you don't tell us what's going on. That's what friends do."
"I don't want any more trouble between the director and Tony. I'll be fine."
"Dude, at least go to the infirmary."
"Fever of 104.1, Peter. You are going home ASAP."
The nurse said that . Oh no.
It was at this point that the Midtown nurse decided to call Happy at Peter's request. Concerned about Peter's health, Happy rushed to the school. Upon entering the nurse's station, he was met with a bleak sight. Peter was sitting up, shaking slightly and leaning against the back of the gurney.
Without a word, Happy approached Peter and placed a hand on his forehead. The burning fever confirmed his suspicions. Concerned and full of care, Happy knelt in front of Peter and whispered words of encouragement.
"Come on, Peter. I'm here," Happy murmured in a soft, comforting voice.
Peter, barely able to articulate words, looked up at Happy with glazed eyes and whispered weakly, "Daddy. I want my daddy."
The words echoed in the air. Happy, surprised hugged Peter with tenderness and determination.
"Come on, let's go to the tower with daddy."
"Okay."
Despite not being his biological father, Tony had formed a special bond with Peter, a bond that transcended the barriers of blood. Ever so carefully, Happy lifted Peter into his arms and carried him toward the car. Peter's fever was evident, and his body was shivering with chills. Without hesitation, Happy decided to take him immediately to the Stark Tower medical bay.
The drive to Stark Tower felt endless. Every bump in the road seemed to jar Peter's weak body, but Happy made sure to drive smoothly, taking care not to cause him any more discomfort. During the ride, Peter clung to Happy like a life preserver, feeling his security and unconditional support.
Arriving at Stark Tower, Happy quickly led Peter to the medical bay. The other members of the Avengers, who had returned from their mission, were in the control room, awaiting Peter's arrival and worried about his condition. Tony, seeing Happy and Peter enter, immediately rose from his seat, a distressed expression on his face.
While Peter was receiving medical care at Stark Tower Bay, Tony returned from his business trip with Fury. Upon entering the bay, he encountered Happy, who had a worried expression on his face.
"Happy, WHAT'S GOING ON, WHAT HAPPENED TO PETER?" asked Tony anxiously.
Happy sighed before replying, "Peter is sick, Tony. He had a fever and looked pretty bad at school."
Concern took over Tony's face as he approached the gurney where Peter rested. He watched his young protégé, his concern increasing with each beat of his heart.
"What exactly happened?" asked Tony, his voice filled with anxiety.
Happy hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Tony, when Peter was delirious with fever, he mentioned your name. But not only that...he also called you 'Dad'."
Tony's heart stopped for an instant. Happy's words echoed in his mind, leaving a sense of surprise and excitement in his being. The thought of being called "dad" by Peter, even if it was during a moment of confusion and illness, generated a whirlwind of emotions in Tony.
"He called me...Dad?" muttered Tony, almost in disbelief.
Happy nodded solemnly. "Yes, Tony. It seems Peter considers you more than just a mentor. He sees you as a father figure."
Tony walked over to Peter's bed, looking at him with tenderness and awe. The words echoed in his mind over and over again, making clear the deep bond that had formed between them.
Although Peter was unaware of the conversation, Tony felt an irrepressible urge to protect him and give him all the love and support a father can offer. The idea of adopting him, which had been on his mind for some time, was now gaining even more strength.
Taking Peter's hand gently, Tony whispered, "Dada is here, Peter. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
A warm smile came over Tony's face as he sank into his thoughts and emotions. He knew that this revelation would change his relationship with Peter in a significant way. He had found in Peter not only a valuable apprentice, but also a son whom he loved deeply.
The road to legal adoption would be a long and challenging process, but Tony was more determined than ever to do everything he could to give Peter the family and love he deserved.
As Peter rested, oblivious to the conversations going on around him, Tony silently vowed that he would do everything he could to make sure his adopted son always knew he was loved, protected and valued in his life.
Tony approached Peter's gurney, his gaze full of tenderness and affection. He took a close look at Peter's face, still marked by the pallor of illness, but also with an expression of vulnerability and trust that only a child could display.
"Hey, Pete," Tony whispered, gently taking Peter's hand. "I'm here. I've always been here for you."
Peter, still weak but aware of Tony's presence, looked up at him with glassy eyes. "Tony... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..dad stuff and .. worry you."
Tony smiled sweetly. "You never have to apologize for that, Peter. You're my boy and I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
The atmosphere was filled with a comforting warmth. Tony leaned over and gently kissed Peter's forehead, conveying his unconditional love and support. In that moment, it didn't matter that they weren't biological family, the bond between them was strong and meaningful.
"Peter, you will always be part of my family," Tony said with conviction. "No matter what happens, I will always be by your side. You are a brave hero and I love you like a son."
Tears began to well up in Peter's eyes, but this time they were tears of relief and happiness. He felt a comforting warmth in his chest as he heard Tony's heartfelt words. In that moment, he realized that his relationship with Tony transcended the label of mentor and mentee. He had found a father in him, someone who loved and protected him in a unique way.
From that moment on, Tony became a constant support in Peter's life, not only as a mentor and leader of the Avengers, but also as a loving father. Together, they faced challenges, shared moments of joy and supported each other every step of the way.
In the Stark Tower medical bay, the bond between Tony and Peter grew even stronger. Peter slowly recovered under Tony's care and attention, while Tony continued to guide him on his path as a hero and protect him as a father would do for his son.
Peter's recognition of having Tony as a father figure did not disappear after his illness. It remained ingrained in his heart, a testament to the love and connection they had built together. Together, Peter and Tony faced not only the threats of the world, but also the emotional ups and downs of life, building a strong and lasting relationship in the process.
