HeartBreak

I- I didn't know…how to tell you

Those words replayed constantly in Miles' mind as he was frantically swinging, desperately trying to get home to save his father. Each time he heard those words again and again, he became only more confused and enraged.

I lik- loved her, and look what that led to. She betrayed me, she knew the whole time and yet said nothing. Did anything we did mean anything to her? Was she just leading me on so she could trap me and let my father die? She even dared to smile at me, after what she did, but was she trying to protect me? No, yes, no, yes, no, DAMMIT, doesn't matter she didn't care enough to stop Miguel or warn me, so I obviously meant nothing to her

He shook his head, he was still confused and angry, more angry than anything, but he had a job to do and that was to save his father from the Spot, and any Spider-man or woman who dared to stop him will get hurt, badly, even his own friends. If I even consider them friends anymore. He was nearing the headquarters where the machine that would take him home was located. Becoming invisible to creep in unnoticed, he wished there was a spider-man he could take out his anger on, to show the maricon they called Miguel, what he was capable of. His eyes lit up with a poisonous smile, as he saw two spider-men guarding the collider unaware of what awaited them. This is where the fun begins, he thought as he crawled right above them. Let's show Miguel and the rest of this shitty society what I'm really capable of.

—----------------------------------

The one question that occupied the swinging Gwen Stacy's mind was WhyWhy did I visit him? Why didn't I tell him the truth? Well, she knew the answer to the first question. It was simple really, she missed him, he was the first friend she had in a long time and now she may have lost him forever, No, I can fix this, but how?

She silently cursed herself for not telling Miles the truth sooner, and they could've found a way to save his father, together, side by side. Instead, she had opted to keep him in the dark and trust he would never find out about his father's fate, but he found out the truth and she will never forget the way he looked at her on the train. All she could see in his hazel eyes was a look of betrayal and sadness. She never forgot the two words he said to her before falling off the train, Goodbye Gwen. A lone tear fell from her eye. I'm so sorry Miles, forgive me, I'm so sorry. She bit back a sob, as she noticed they were nearing headquarters.

She glanced to her left at Peter, but he too seemed lost in his own thoughts. As they swung through the headquarters entrance, Miguel spoke up, "Gwen and Peter, stay out of this, I won't have you two ruining our chance to stop Morales from disrupting the multiverse. If you try to stop me, I will not heist-" Gwen looked at him confused as to why he stopped talking but soon noticed what he was looking at and she gasped. There were two spider-men bodies and they didn't look good, at all.

Blood, that’s what his hands were covered in, he could taste it in his mouth. Why, why couldn’t they have just let him go?

Miles made a beeline to the transporter to send himself home, if he had to seriously hurt Spider-men in order to save his family, then so be it.

I’m gonna save you Dad, and then I’m going to figure out this whole mess.

Miles legitimately wondered if Miguel had to, would he kill him? Just to protect the so-called canon

“You can choose between saving one person or saving an entire world, all worlds. Being Spider-man is a sacrifice, that’s what we signed up for.”

Those words irritated Miles to no end. So he wants us to let people fucking die? Even if we have the chance to save them? He shook his head, “ Fuck no, Spider-man can do both. Our job is to save anyone possible even if that means sacrificing ourselves so that others live, that’s what we signed up for.”

He scanned his surroundings and made himself invisible, he noticed no one around the controls, but he still cloaked himself. He quickly activated the machine, scanned his eye, and let the giant robotic arachnid grab him to send him home.

I’m coming home mami, don’t worry, I won’t lose you or Dad, I promise.

“MILES!!!!”

He looked up to see Miguel charging toward him with his gleaming red eyes, for a moment he felt fear, but he calmed his nerves. The portal was practically done, besides if he was going to fight Miguel in the future, he shouldn’t be afraid of him.

He smirked as he saw Miguel maybe a foot away, slashing and punching the shell of the portal. I’m going home Miguel and there’s nothing you and your society can do to stop me.

His smirk dropped as he looked past Miguel and straight at Peter and Gwen. The betrayal was still a fresh wound and each time he saw them, it burned his heart. He glared at Peter, angry that his so-called mentor sold him out, but his eyes softened slightly as he looked at Gwen. As always the first thing he noticed about her was her eyes. Sky blue, like when a child wakes up in the morning and looks out their window in the summer.

He noticed that she was crying and he immediately wanted nothing more than to run to comfort her, but he shook his head. He figured she was only crying because she was caught in her lie.

That’s all this ever was, a bigfucking lie. He clenched his fists and his gaze hardened as he looked at Miguel, who was still in a fury.

“Hey, hey, pendejo,” he snapped to grab Miguel’s attention, “Come on, is that the best you can do?” He was really starting to enjoy antagonizing Miguel.

The countdown started,

3…

This is it, I’m going home.

2…

I won’t let Spot win.

1…

Even if it kills me

Everything went white.

It was everywhere, they had a pulse, but it was barely there. Blood pooled beneath their bodies and onto the polished floor. One of their arms was completely broken, and the other had both legs broken.

“This is my fault, I did this,” Gwen internally screamed at herself for not telling Miles the truth, and now this is what her actions lead to. She looked at Peter and saw the sadness in his eyes as he kissed Mayday on the head making sure to cover her eyes from the carnage in front of her.

Probably thinking the same thing as me.”

“Jess, get these two to the infirmary, the rest of you, with me. I was trying to be nice with this kid, but now that is no longer the case. We ne-”

“Interdimensional Transporter Initiating”

“Carajo, he’s already there!” Miguel bolted toward the transporter, “I’m gonna put an end to you Morales.” He seethed.

As they neared the transporter, Gwen could see Miles already half-covered in an interdimensional shield, and she knew Miguel would never reach him in time. She heard Miguel shout at Miles, and in that moment all the spiders saw another side of Miguel no one had ever seen.

Pure animalistic rage.

He had his claws out slashing at the shield barrier, but she knew it was pointless, he would never breakthrough. Even Peter glanced back and she saw, fear? Or was it concern for Miles's safety?

She looked at Miles and saw the anger in his eyes when he looked at Peter and her, and she has never hated herself more in that moment than in her whole life. She wiped at her eyes to make sure no one saw the tears cascading down her face. As she looked back up, her eyes met Miles and her throat tightened at his gaze. She saw him say something to Miguel but couldn’t make out his words. Then she heard the countdown of the machine and knew it was over. Miles was going home to save his father and she and Peter had betrayed him.

3…

I’m so sorry Miles

2…

I just wanted to protect you

1…

That’s all I wanted to do and I’m sorry for not telling you

The portal flashed white and Miles was gone and Miguel was left standing there. Now, it was pretty easy to tell he was pissed , but she didn’t care, she wanted to find Miles.

“Lyla, set course for Earth-1610, let’s finish this once and for all”

“Wait, let me talk to him, he’s my friend.” She tried clinging to any sort of hope she could that granted her the opportunity to fix her mistake, to beg Miles for his forgiveness.

“Yeah, we already tried that and you being his friend is a huge problem, one I will not overlook again.”

“Miguel take it easy on her, she’s worried about him” She turned her head to see Peter defending her and she inwardly smiled. “You did go hard on Miles, if you had just been more understanding and reasoned with him maybe we wouldn’t be in this predicament.”

“Oh yeah, excuse me for wanting to fix the original mistake in the entire multiverse.”

“Hey, watch it, maybe if you didn’t throw a desk at him when you first met, he’d hear you out, but noooooooo, ‘I’m Miguel and I’m so serious because I’m the head of Multiverse spider people.’  Get a grip man and get a hold of your ego always thinking your right.” Peter was now also starting to get pissed off, not only because of his betrayal of Miles, but because Miguel was taking his anger out on Gwen.

“Do you even know what happens if he breaks the canon?” Gwen was feeling more confident in standing up to Miguel with Peter alongside her. She wasn’t going to let him go after her best friend. If that’s what we are anymore, she silently thought.

“Do you wanna find out? You willing to put his whole world at risk just for his father?”

She stayed silent.

“Exactly, go home Gwen.”

She was about to respond before she felt her arms being grabbed by the robotic limbs of the transporter.

“HEY, let go of me, Miguel what the hell!” She struggled with the machine to no avail, it had already covered half the podium in an interdimensional shield and then the countdown started.

3…

2…

“We are supposed to be the good guys.”

1…

And then everything went white.
