Prologue

The Spider-Verse—a vast web filled with peculiar encounters and infinite possibilities—piqued the interest of a once-young Miguel O'Hara. After years of dedicated research, he finally managed to access the web of infinite worlds. Within its infinite expanse, Miguel discovered an Earth in which he found happiness in his beloved daughter, Gabriella. However, their lives were disrupted on a fateful day when Gabriella was ripped away from Miguel's life. Fueled by his resolve, Miguel pledged to keep the balance of the multiverse alongside many others like him, creating the Spider Society. As time went on, the society began a further exploration of the Spiderverse to find more spider people to aid in the protection of the multiverse.

It was not unusual for all kinds of trouble to arise in these expeditions, but Miguel put his trust in his best members to maintain the safety of the multiverse while expanding its knowledge of it. Miguel sat focused, humming in his lab, finishing up his latest creations. It was one of those rare days when he had a chance to catch a break from his busy schedule and work on his projects—a moment of calm in the sea of chaos that was his life. Said break was interrupted by Lyla, as she materialized in a flash of light, causing Miguel to roll his eyes at the intrusion.

“Lyla, weren't you supposed to be in 'do not disturb' for an hour?” Lyla gave Miguel a raised eyebrow as Miguel sighed, annoyed, looking at her as he stopped his work.

“Alright, tell me. What is it?”

“An anomaly, of course, the exploration you sent early this morning went south. The team was ambushed,” Lyla said as she pulled up a screen. It was notable that the team put up a fight but it wasn’t enough. Much to Miguel’s displeasure, the anomaly was confirmed in the footage to be a carnage variant—an annoying one at that, as the footage showed the symbiote taunting the group.

“I’m guessing they already called for backup?” Miguel says to Lyla as he analyzed the footage.

“Yes they did, Jess went out to help, but she requested your help ASAP, Miguel,” Lyla says as she continued pulling up footage.

“Lyla, have they determined if that Earth even has a Spiderman?” Miguel said as he shed his civilian clothes, revealing his iconic red and blue Spiderman suit underneath.

“I have checked street cameras of the city as well as the media, and it seems like there is one, but she’s nowhere to be found. Guess the goo monster scared her big time,” Lyla snickered as more footage appeared around her.

“What a great way to protect your city, don’t you think,” he says, irritated, as he sets his watch to Earth 2103.

“You said it, boss. good luck!” Lyla says playfully saluting Miguel before disappearing.

A familiar hexagonal portal opened and Miguel leaped inside, mentally preparing for the situation he was about to arrive in. As he emerged from the portal and took a second to assess the current damages in the city, the rampage of carnage notable in every corner. Miguel began to leap across buildings and over police containment lines and arrived at the scene, greeting Jessica.

“No sight of Spiderwoman yet?” Miguel said as he approached Jessica.

“Not yet, Miguel. Seems like she is busy with other matters or something. The original team has been rescued and taken to Headquarters med bay, but some need assistance, and then there is the anomaly” she says as carnage hurls a car at the building they stood upon.

“It's been a while since we had gotten one of these guys,” Miguel remarks, annoyed, his eyes fixed on the anomaly.

“Doesn't make them less annoying,” Jess says as she webbed the anomaly before crashing down on it with her motorcycle. Using this opportunity Miguel landed some well-placed attacks and managed to get a sample of the symbiote's goo.

“Lyla! Analyze that sample, porfavor(please)” Miguel said urgently as he dodged rubble being thrown by carnage, his voice barely audible amid the battle.

As the fight continued, Lyla processed the information within seconds, Miguel's watch showing the DNA of the symbiote, and its original earth, quickly Lyla explained the situation.

“Miguel, the analysis indicates that this variant of carnage is especially dangerous and aggressive compared to the one found on our earth, although there is no chance of cannon events being disrupted,” Lyla said her voice laced with urgency as she read through multiple screens, continuing to break the information down.

Determination rushed through Miguel after hearing this. “Lyla, I need to neutralize this thing without hurting the host. Any suggestions?” Miguel said as he continued to swing, trying to find another opening to approach the symbiote.

After assessing the situation Lya responded, “Best route of action is for you to use some sort of sonic disruptor to attempt to separate the symbiote from the host, seeing that it has worked perfectly on previous occasions, Im sending some right away.”

Miguel quickly took action as a sonic disruptor materialized in his and Jessica's grasp. With coordinated movements, they were able to position themselves to attack the symbiote. As they began their approach, the bright lights and noise of prying news helicopters caused the Symbiote to writhe in pain, before fleeing.

The loud noise and blinding lights aggravated the symbiote in its weakened state, causing it to begin splitting from its host. For a short second, Miguel and Jessica were able to see the familiar glimpse of a Spiderman mask buried within the symbiote's tendrils. As the symbiote kept splitting from the host, a pained noise was heard from within.

“Help me...” you said with a grave voice as you tried to fight against the symbiote's grasp on your body.

With urgency, Miguel and Jessica pursued carnage as it fleed, maneuvering poorly across the city. As they managed to close in on the symbiote, Miguel's mind raced with possibilities on how to quickly finish the fight.

“Jess, when you get close enough, trap it with your webs and use the sonic blaster to break the bond! ill follow after and contain it.” Miguel said as he continued to swing across buildings, before receiving a nod from Jessica as she hurried off on her motorcycle.

In a dark alley, carnage painfully bent over, exhausted from the persecution. Jessica used this opportunity to web the symbiote before shooting continuously as she circled the beast in her motorcycle. The symbiote's hold weakened with every hit, allowing the mask to peak through once again.

“Miguel, we can't let it escape again!” Jessica said as she continued to spin around Carnage, shooting consistently with the blaster.

“We won't, Jessica,” Miguel replied, determined, as he shot the symbiote with extreme precision. Carnage's weakened grasp revealed you, your body battered after a harsh battle. With two final shots, your body fell to the ground with a thud as the symbiote fled. Jessica quickly moved towards your unconscious form, while Miguel activated a containment unit to trap and bring back the symbiote to headquarters, before returning it to its universe.

“Finally, it's secured. That was something. Lyla, call for a clean-up team would ya.” Miguel says, sighing as he catches his breath before glancing at Jess behind.

“Miguel… this one isn't doing so good,” Jessica says, her voice filled with worry as she looked at your unconscious form, blood and bruises blooming in your skin.

“Mierda(shit), Lyla please asses her quickly,” Miguel said as he rushed to Jessica's side, kneeling beside you.

Lyla’s form materialized and began processing the orange light rays, moving swiftly along Spider-Woman. After a long silence, Lyla spoke.

“Miguel her vitals are weak and unstable. The scan indicates severe physical and mental strain due to the symbiote's mental and physical control. She has some cracked ribs and internal bleeding, her life force is diminishing. You need to bring her back to Headquarters for immediate medical attention” Lyla said with urgency.

“Lyla, activate the emergency medical protocols in the med bay. We will be right there,” Miguel said stoically as he lifted your unconscious form into his arms. A portal to headquarters opened before they both stepped through.

As they reached headquarters, Miguel and Jess rushed to the med bay, as concerned gazes of fellow spidermen looked at them. Slowly the situation began reminding Miguel of his past. His mind plagued by a deep feeling of Deja Vu as the vivid memories of his daughter Gabriella disintegrating along with her earth resurfaced in his head.

As they entered the medical bay, medical personnel, and advanced equipment were already prepared. The atmosphere was rough, and filled with worry as machines sparked to life ready to save you. Miguel gently laid your dying form on a medical bed, before leaving the room. The medical team quickly took over, working trying to stabilize your vital signs and fix your injuries. Miguel and Jessica stood by, their eyes fixed on your unresponsive form.

As the medical staff continued their work your Spiderman mask was removed revealing your battered face. As your face was exposed Miguel's heart skipped a beat, a rush of emotions overwhelming him. Your face bore an uncanny similarity to an older version of his daughter, Gabriella. Your features, though battered and bruised, stirred memories that he had long cherished and mourned. The pain of Gabriella’s loss surged within him, reopening a wound that never fully healed.

Miguel's eyes locked onto your face, his eyes tracing the features that mirrored those of Gabriella. The similarities striking, it was as if he were looking at a version of Gabriella from an alternate reality—one where she had grown into a young woman. At that moment, hope and despair filled Miguel's heart. A new possibility of reuniting with his daughter again right at his grasp, in a way it tugged at his aching heart. This was the opportunity he had yearned for after her tragic death. To have her back in his arms. As his thoughts raced, Miguel felt a reassuring hand resting on his shoulder, grounding him in the present. He turned to see Jessica, her eyes filled with empathy and concern.

“Miguel, are you okay?” Jessica’s voice pierced the chaos in his mind. His expression morphed by the emotions he experienced. He remained silent, unable to speak.

Jessica understood Miguel's pain. She had witnessed the depths of Miguel's grief after the loss of his daughter as they had dragged him back to headquarters. She knew that the sight of you, so reminiscent of Gabriella, had stirred something profound within him. At that moment, all she could offer was her support, while standing by his side. Every fiber of Miguel yearned to reach out and embrace you as he once embraced his daughter. His heart ached as he saw your form dying in the med bay.

In the chaos of the situation, the medical staff tended to you. The room buzzed with activity as machines and voices filled the air. Time seemed to slow down as the hours trickled by slowly. As the day progressed the Spidermen left the med bay to tend to their heroic duties, while relying on Lyla for updates on your condition. They both clung to hope, trusting that the staff's efforts would bring you back from the brink of death.
