Hobie is currently sitting on a building in New York with Miles, who he's been hanging out with a lot. Hobie is just caught up in this moment, it's him and Miles. He's not thinking twice about anything about them, because well, the more they hangout the more likely their fanciness for one another will turn into love.
A month ago they came to admit they like each other, more than friends, so now the only label Hobie will ever use is Boyfriend.
The sun is setting, the moon is slowly starting to shine, and his boyfriend is leaning his head on his shoulder while wrapped around his arm. It's a perfect day, because they decided to have a picnic, so they chose the rooftop of Miles apartment complex.
Everything is frozen, because it's just them. No school. No friends. No parents. Nothing that can ruin their day. It's just them and their happiness.
Hobie can't stop himself from staring at Miles, not when he looks like the world is perfect for him right now. If Miles is happy and in peace, Hobie is too. His world revolves around Miles now, so if Miles is sad, Hobie is hunting. If Miles is angry, Hobie is taking him somewhere to let his anger out. If Miles is happy, Hobie is fabolous.
His heart beats loudest when around Miles, and well, he can't stop it now will he try. Miles is to be protected, because he's just so bright for this world.
Hobie loves the feeling of liking Miles. It's just… He really likes him. He loves the feeling over Miles' hand in his, of dates, of protecting Miles, and mostly? He just loves loving Miles. Who couldn't love Miles- 'Oh my god, I love Miles Morales.'
Hobie is in love with Miles. He's in love with Miles. It's an amazing feeling, he loves the rush of it, because he loves Miles.
Does Miles love him back? Does he want to say it? Does he want Hobie to say it? Is this actual love between them that can last?
"*mor?"
Amor. Amor is what gets Hobie out of his thoughts, as he looks over at Miles. "Yes, love?"
Miles gives him a confused looked, "You were lost in your brain. You alright, dude?"
Yeah, Hobie is in love. Miles first instinct was to ask if Hobie was alright when he was stuck thinking, which again, was just him realizing he loves Miles. Miles was his, and he's Miles. He'll always be Miles.
"I'm fine, Miles. Just enjoying this time with you."
And the smile Hobie gets, is like the sun will never leave them to die. Like they'll be immortal, together forever. He hears a laugh, covering up a "cheesy cunt."
Hobie wants to ask Miles to make him a promise, because well, Hobie has put all his faith in Miles. Hobie never trusted someone like he does Miles, and it's terrifying.
The promise he wants to make is that Miles will stay, because if he doesn't, Hobie doesn't know if he'll be okay again. He doesn't have time to dwell on what ifs though, so he smiles at his boyfriend whom he loves so much.
Honestly, Hobie doesn't know where they'll lead. Wherever fate takes them, they'll make it through. Hopefully.
Miles looks perfect under the sunset, on a picnic blanket, and a plate of food sitting by him. He's wearing one Hobie's hoodies, because he was cold, and well, that's the most adorable thing ever.
The only question left is where they'll lead. Will it be happy or go down in flames? Will they die by each other's sides, or will one dance alone with their ghost?
They spend the rest of the date laughing, talking, and kissing. Hobie has to get Miles home by ten according to Jefferson, so that's what he does. He'll spend the night thinking about Miles, like normal.
After months of dating, Hobie finally does something crazy.
Whenever Hobie is around Miles, he can feel the rush in his veins. Hobie has always hated the concept of marriage, but he already has their marriage planned out. Of course if they do get married, he'll do whatever Miles wants, but he can still have his temporary plan.
There's something about Miles making Hobie go insane. May it be his smile, his laugh, the way his eyes shine, the way he cries in Hobie arms instead of his mother's, the way Miles drags Hobie everything, or maybe the way Miles always find a way to steal Hobie's clothes.
Miles makes Hobie insane, in a good way. Hobie would do whatever Miles asked him too. Miles wants to try something in a different state? Hobie is taking him. Miles wants the moon? Hobie will find a way to give Miles the moon. Miles wants to run away for a week? Hobie will buy a hotel room on the edge of town. Anything Miles wants, he gets.
Whatever storm they have to go though, they'll win. They always have. It's them against the world, there isn't no stopping them. If they have the world against them, Hobie would fight them off for Miles.
Hobie feels so reckless with Miles, and well, he loves it. The adrenaline he gets from the recklessness he has around Miles will never get old, just worse, in a good way.
Miles makes Hobie want to give in, to throw his life into Miles' palms permanently. He wants to either take, give, or mix their last names. If Hobie didn't know he loves Miles already, he would've been jealous of all the girls who wanted him and wouldn't know why.
Hobie feels the rush of adrenaline over him as they walk through the park. Miles always said he wanted simple, so that's what Hobie is doing… kinda. He has an area in the park where's a water fountain for couples, and he spent the hour prior setting it up.
Gwen and Pav are watching it for them, waiting until they see Hobie, to hide. There's candles along the side of it, and the same flowers Miles used when confessing to Hobie. The flowers weren't meant for the confession, but it was still a cute memory so he had to add it.
"Later tonight my mother and father are supposed to be taking me to a family dinner, do you want to come?" Miles asks Hobie, as he intertwines their fingers.
"I don't see why not, spending time with you is always fun." Hobie smiles. Miles pushes him away, but not letting go of his hand. He's also smiling, because like he likes to reminds Hobie, he's a cheesy cunt.
It doesn't take them long to make it to tje spot, and when they do, Miles looks at Hobie confused. "What's this?"
"It's something special I did for you, love." Hobie was anxious now. He was really about to give his life away for good. He's excited, but the anxiety is heavy.
"You… did this for me?" Miles was extremely confused, it wasn't hard to tell. He was examining the place, from what Hobie could tell.
"Yeah, do you like it?" Hobie tries his hardest not to over analyze how this might now be perfect, because Miles deserves the best. Hobie wants to give Miles what he deserves.
Miles wraps his arms around Hobie's neck, bringing him closer. "I love you, you did great making it special Hobie." He whispers in Hobie's ear.
Hobie feels some of his anxiety flow away, because if Miles loves this, maybe proposing won't go that bad. He's so excited to propose. He's not afraid of jumping in, but it's only if Miles wants to.
When Miles pulls away, he's wearing the brightest smile ever. "You're the best boyfriend. Sucks you don't believe in marriage, would make an even better husband."
Hobie feels all the anxiety leave him finally, Miles does want to get married one day.
"Maybe I do want to be your husband?" He huffs out, because well, this whole setup was so he could propose. "What if I was going to propose, huh?"
Miles stands on his tiptoes, and whispers into Hobie's ear again, "Then propose, Hobie Brown."
Hobie surges in to kiss Miles, because this bloke will be the death of him. Whatever Hobie had planned, is now a change planned. Because well, Miles wants to marry. Hobie loves Miles more than anything, he can't believe he was anxious!
"You, Morales, will be the death of me. I did this all so I could marry you." Hobie whispers between them, as he pulls away not going too far so he can rest their foreheads together.
"Then ask so I can give you an answer, or we'll just stand here like this."
Hobie pulls away fully now, pulling a ring out his pocket. Like any cheesy cunt would do, he gets on one knee. Miles and his stupid smile, making Hobie weak like this.
"Miles Morales, I have liked you since I laid eyes upon you, and I realized I loved you that evening on the rooftop when we had a date a month into our relationship. I think I might've loved you since the beginning. I was thinking of the best, but simple way to ask tonight, but you beat me to the punchline. Would… you do the honor and marry me?"
Miles has tears in his eyes, even though he was expecting this. He laughs, in a loving manner.
"Yes Hobie, I'll marry you. I've loved you since I could remember a life without you," Miles is still smiling. He pulls Hobie into a hug, making them officially fiance's.
It takes them a year after their proposal to finally get married, but it doesn't matter. It's their wedding day. Hobie is so anxious, because Miles is so perfect.
Miles is walking down the aisle with his mother. He thought side dads take their daughters down the aisle, his mother could take him instead.
They're getting married in the mountains at a lake. The lake is near the bottom, but as you look up you see looming mountains. It's honestly perfect. They're outside, it's summer, and they can swim after the ceremony.
Gwen is Miles' best gal while Pavitr is Hobie's. Mayday will be the flower girl for them, with the help of Peter B. The priest is Ganke. This wedding is going to be perfect. Like Miles.
Hobie is standing at the altar waiting for Miles to walk down it. He can't wait to change his *boyfriend* label to husband. The only labels he'll ever accept if it's Miles.
The music starts and it starts with the people standing at the altar walking down it. It's slow, but perfect. Everyone is so beautiful, but not as beautiful as Miles will be.
After everyone at the altar is there, Mayday and Peter B walk down the aisle throwing sunflowers. She's energetic and happy to do so, even handing people some. It's adorable, she was the perfect person to choose as a flower girl.
After Mayday, Rio comes out with Miles on her arm.
Miles is drop dead gorgeous, like, Hobie can't wait to get to their honeymoon. Miles is so sodding fine in his suit. No one has a right, minus Miles, to look that hot in a suit.
As they walk down the aisle, everyone starts crying. Why the hell is this so bloody emotional? When Miles makes it to his spot, they can't keep their eyes off of each other. If anyone asks if Hobie cries, no he did not. (He did.)
Ganke clears his throat, "Today we are brought here to this wonderful scenery to watch a wedding blossom between Hobie Brown and Miles Morales. I would like us to take a moment and to hear the lovers' vows, we'll start with Mister Brown."
Hobie smiles. His vows… he didn't write them out. He wanted them to be from the heart when he said them, and not rehearse.
"Miles, I have loved you before I laid eyes upon you. This last year and half has been the best time of my life, and I can't wait to make it forever. I've never thought I'd get married, but now that I am, I'm so glad it's you I'm marrying. You are the best bloke I've ever met, and you make me the luckiest person to exist."
Miles has the biggest smile Hobie has ever seen, and it's the best feeling Hobie has ever felt. Miles coughs at a small laugh, before speaking.
"Hobie Brown, you cheesy cunt I have loved you since the beginning of time, and I'm so glad I have found you. If I didn't believe in soulmates before, I definitely do now, because you're the one for me. You the bestest partner anyone could have, and I'm so lucky it's me who has you."
Ganke makes an ahem noise, "Hobie Brown, do you take Miles Morales to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
"Miles Morales, do you take Hobie Brown to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do.
"You may kiss the groom." Ganke announces, as everyone around applauds.
Hobie pulls Miles in for a kiss, not letting go. This is only the beginning to their story, and the start of a new forever. It's them against the world. Hobie Brown-Morales and Miles Morales-Brown.
