Chapter 2

As I awoke, an overwhelming feeling of anxiety, frustration, and sadness washed over me, attacking my core. I found myself in the same dream again.

< "Miles! Please, I'm sorry for everything! " I shouted hoping that he would finally understand me. There were tears in my eyes, my outfit was ragged with blood pouring from some places from my body.

"... AFTER ALL THIS TIME I AM SUPPOSED TO FORGIVE YOU? Gwen understand that you hurt me terribly, you lied to me for so long, I'm sick of you, I wish I never met you!" Miles said, looking into Gwen's eyes.

Hearing these words everything in me broke down.

"It wasn't supposed to be like this Gwen?" Miles exclaimed, his tone sharp with anger. "You lied from the very beginning, and I was so stupid. I thought you were on my side. When you suddenly appeared in my room, it was like a surreal dream. I thought I would never see you guys again." Miles was very angry

As I heard Miles' words, my heart ached even more. I knew there was no justification for my lies, and the weight of my actions had cost me the most important person in my life. The realization of the damage I had caused was overwhelming, and I felt consumed by remorse and regret.

"Miles, I'm truly sorry," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion as she tried to hold back tears. "I never meant to hurt you. But everything got so complicated... When I came into your dimension, I didn't know how to reveal the truth without putting everything at risk. It was an incredibly difficult situation."

"Complicated?" replied Miles bitterly.

I could feel my heart racing, beating faster and faster with each passing moment. The intense emotions and tension were taking a toll on my physical and emotional state.

"So why did you come here?" he asked. "To see me? Or did you just feel that you should tell me something?"

At that moment, I froze. I wished to say sorry, but I knew that mere words couldn't change the past or repair the damage I had done. It was a painful realization that some things are beyond the power of words to fix.

"I came here to apologize to you..." she stated seriously. "I didn't mean for things to come to this, but you have to realize... Miles, if I had told you the truth back then, I could possibly never have seen you again. Miguel could have returned me to my world. "And if I had been forced to return, my father would have definitely arrested me," Gwen said, her emotions spinning as she paced in circles, gesticulated with her fists, and grabbed her head.

"I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive you," As Miles openly expressed his pain and uncertainty about forgiving her.

Drawing in a deep breath, Gwen acknowledged, "I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive myself either." The journey to healing and reconciliation seemed daunting, but it was a necessary path to walk.

"I never meant to hurt you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper as she lowered her head. She feared that saying anything more might only worsen the situation.

Miles' answer was tinged with apprehension and vulnerability. "I don't know what to do now," he said, his voice slightly wavering under the weight of his emotions. "I don't know if I'm ready to see you yet." His emotions were raw, and the scars caused by her acts were still raw.

Gwen shrugged her shoulders, giving him the space he needed. "It's your decision, Miles. I understand if you need time and space, but if you ever want to talk to me.... I'll be there." Saying this she looked at him with a sad smile. >

I wiped the tears that were streaming down my cheeks with the sleeve of my blouse. Leaning on my elbows, I gazed out of the window at the gloomy dawn, noting that even the sun seemed lacking its usual cheer today. I desperately wished I could just wait out the day like any other, concealing my emotions deep within.

Slowly, I got out of bed, going through the motions of dressing myself mechanically. In the mirror, I saw a tired and worried version of myself, but I didn't want to burden anyone else with my condition. Despite that, I couldn't shake the awareness that my dad was deeply concerned about me.

Intent on avoiding any intervention, I hurriedly left my home, determined to slip away unnoticed. As Spider-Woman, I felt I could have some peace of mind for a while.

I put on the mask that hid my identity and webbed the building, soaring high above the city. Moving across rooftops always had a relaxing impact on my soul, providing a little respite from the complications of my life.

After a series of acrobatics and balancing on the edges of buildings, I finally reached the Clock Tower. This place held a special significance for me, as it provided a sense of isolation from the bustling city below, allowing me to focus on my thoughts.

I sat on the upside-down platform and watched the city slowly come to life. The sight brought a mix of emotions, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty washing over me.

"Something is happening, something is changing, and I don't know how to handle it," I muttered gently, catching a glimpse of the clock's hands rapidly ticking away the time.

While my eyes were fixed on the horizon, my mind wandered elsewhere. I knew Miles needed time to process everything, but I couldn't help but wonder how long I could wait. The uncertainty of the situation weighed heavily on my heart, and I found myself grappling with the unknown future ahead.

Miles found solace in the act of floating skyscrapers and jumping between rooftops in New York. It was his way of escaping reality temporarily, a means of numbing the pain brought on by the complicated situation with Gwen and HQ.

One evening, upon returning from a patrol, I discovered my father sitting on the sofa, watching TV. He noticed my presence and immediately sensed that something was amiss.

"What's wrong with you, Miles?" my father, Jefferson, inquired with genuine concern.

I longed to share my troubles with him, but the weight of the secret I carried prevented me from opening up. Avoiding his gaze, I remained silent, unsure of how to express what was troubling me.

"We're worried about you, Miles. You can tell us anything," he said softly, offering a safe space for me to confide.

I squirmed, torn between wanting to confide in my father and protecting him from the truth about Gwen and HQ. "Dad, it's not that simple," I struggled to say. "This... this is something I can't talk about. I need to figure it out on my own."

Jefferson sensed that there was more to the story but respected my boundaries, not pushing for answers. "It's okay," he eventually responded, his voice tinged with concern. "Just know that we're here for you, always."

I nodded, then retreated to my room. I needed time to sort through my thoughts and emotions, to come to terms with everything that had transpired. The journey ahead was uncertain, but I knew I had to find my own way through it.

Over the next few days, I found myself occupied with the familiar routine of climbing skyscrapers and battling criminals. At school, I maintained my friendships, trying to carry on as normally as possible.

However, beneath the surface of this facade, my mind was constantly haunted by memories of the spider-gang. Images of defeating the Kingpin together with them flashed in my mind, followed by the emotional encounter with Gwen, the whole spider-gang. Forgiveness felt like a distant goal.

I knew that healing and forgiving others, as well as myself, would take time. The wounds were deep, and it was essential to give myself the space and patience needed to work through these complex emotions.

It was a quiet morning but definitely for me wasn't. As soon as I woke up, I sensed my heart racing. The nightmares continued to haunt me even after I had triumphed over The Spot and rescued my father.

< I soon found The Spot roaming across the city. My heart beat frantically, fully realizing that this would be a seriously tough battle with possibly catastrophic results. No matter what, protecting my father remained my top goal. At the same time, I couldn't shake the feeling that Gwen's gang might show up there, and I hoped to avoid any kind of interaction with them. I slipped off the roof quickly, disappearing from view in an instant, leaving only a white spider web behind.

When I arrived at the area where the spot is I was met with confusion. The Spot was insane, producing multiple holes that disrupted not only my actions but also the efforts of the cops. This was one of the most difficult rivalries I've ever faced. He had predicted every move I made, simply slipping into another hole and escaping every strike.

I guessed which space hole The Spot was going to escape through in one frantic effort. I tried to catch him in my web and hold him there. However, it was too late. The Spot vanished into one of the black holes. I slumped on the ground. My pulse hammered like crazy as my adrenaline slowly began to slow down, and I was able to sense the pain burning through my body. I had become tired, and I realized I was bleeding from my side. I didn't have anything to wrap it in, unfortunately.

I heard footsteps. I opened my eyes, and in front of me I saw Gwen and her team, who stood as if stupefied. I saw their concerned looks.

Struggling to hide the pain, I whispered, "What are you doing here?" as Gwen approached me, her concerned blue eyes locked on mine. Despite my reluctance to engage with them, she insisted on helping, showing genuine care.

"I'm fine," I insisted, attempting to downplay my injuries. "I need to go back and finish The Spot."

Gwen, however, wouldn't back down and firmly held my hand, refusing to let me face the danger alone. I tried to stop her, but her determination was unwavering. "Miles, we can't leave you alone. The Spot is dangerous, and you're injured. Together, we can handle him."

I couldn't afford a long discussion. I needed to get back into the fight in order to protect the city and save my family. "Gwen, I... I have to do this by myself." "You wouldn't understand," I responded quickly before quickly moving away from her sight, focused on my mission. My emotions were raging, but I needed to stay focused on the battle, pushing through the agonizing discomfort without showing signs of weakness.

I returned to the location where the battle was taking place. The Spot was still causing chaos, creating holes to avoid attacks. But this time I was more determined and fearless. I didn't let the pain limit me. I have to fight for the sake of the city and for the sake of everyone I care about.

The Spot right away wrapped me and him in a seemingly endlessly extending black hole. As I started to lose strength, I heard The Spot say, "Your father is about to die, and it's all because of you!" It was a blow straight to my heart. I couldn't picture anything horrible happening to my father. I had to put a stop to it.

I realized I didn't have much time. I had to remain focused and find the power within myself to defy The Spot and save my father. Even though everything seemed to be against me, I began to fight. I tried to block out The Spot's remarks by ignoring them. I refused to give up, despite the pain and the shredded state of my costume. "You can't get away any longer, Spot." "You will now pay for your actions," I said, my voice firm despite my heavy breathing.

The Spot stayed silent as he levitated over me. Without warning, I was lifted into the air and brought face-to-face with my enemy. I took control of the situation and loaded the full force of my venom blast on him. The force poured through me as I focused all of my power into the attack, eager to make him responsible for the destruction he had caused.

The venom blast shook the area, and for a brief while, there was silence as the smoke cleared. I kept my ground, waiting for the outcome of my assault, but it never came.>

I not only conquered The Spot with my electric strength, but I also saved my father. As I lay in bed, I let out a sigh of relief, the weight of the battle slowly lifting from my shoulders. Yet another day awaits me.
