For a really long time Matt thought that befriending Foggy Nelson was the best decision he ever made in his entire life. Now, he's not so sure of it anymore, not because of Foggy, quite the opposite, the man is an welcome warm in Matt's life, he's gentle, supportive, enthusiastic, smart, he's the opposite of Matt. And that's why it was a mistake bringing him into this mess.

Now he can see his best friend becoming more reserved, worried, sad even. He hates it. Matt knows it's because of him. Foggy's eyebrows wrinkle with worry every time he notices a new bruise. Matt can't see it but he knows, he learned how to use the first aid so they didn't needed to call Claire everytime.
There's so much pain in his voice now, he says he doesn't mind being the one to help because at least he knows that Matt is safe and doesn't need to wait until he shows up to work in morning.
It's bullshit because there's fucking blood in his couch and his neighbors are starting to get suspicious. But, he's not lying. His heart beats normally even when he say something like that, and this is worse, Matt wishes he was lying about this, about caring. Matt wishes nobody cared about him so he could be Daredevil and never look back. Being Matt Murdock, the lawyer and friend is too difficult to him. Being Daredevil is only listening to his instincts and to people asking for help. He doesn't need to believe in the law when he is in the red suit.

"Hey? Do you need any aspirin after this?" Foggy asks and Matt swallow.

"No, thanks. Just the stitches are good."

Foggy is probably raising one eyebrow, he can't see the movement but he knows this is something he does when he doesn't believe in someone.

"I'm sewing your face and you don't need any medicine for that? Come on, bud."

"Mhm. Maybe some aspirin could be good." Matt answers tired.

"That's what I thought. Don't need to hear your heart to know when you're lying." He says laughing and Matt wants to cry. Why is Foggy laughing?! He doesn't deserve the way that he is holding his face so gently and talking about his day and laughing and caring. Why does he cares so much?

"Why are you doing this, Foggy?"

"Because you have cuts all over your face?" He asks confused. "There's no way you're not feeling it."

"Why are you helping me? You don't need to do that every night. You could be sleeping, or having fun. It's friday." There's tears in Matt's eye's but he's not crying. Not yet, at least.

"You really think I would let you bleeding all over your loft while I drink in a friday night? What the fuck, dude? I'm doing this because I care, I worry about you even if you don't like it. I love you, Matt. Besides, you would do the same for me." Not a single lie. Matt is crying now.

"Hey, hey, hey, don't cry. Did I hurt you? What's happening?" He's holding Matt's face and trying to dry his tears and Matt starts laughing a little because, Jesus, he is so sweet!

"There's nothing wrong. I love you too, Fogs. Thanks for doing this."

"No need for thanking me! You're okay?" He's still worried.

Matt nods because he is okay. Foggy is here so of course he's okay.

"I'm fine."

"Ok, good. Tell me if I hurt you, now keep still so I can finish it already and we both can take a nap."

Loving Foggy is the best decision he ever made, and even if he regrets dragging someone innocent in his mess, he's glad is him, because Foggy happens to love him back.
