Tony noted the time on the clock, double-checking that he wasn't running late before he fastened the blindfold around his head. It was the last step in making himself ready for Steve and he felt himself automatically relax as he settled into his waiting position.

It had taken them a while to figure out the process that let Tony put away CEO, Superhero, and Genius, but they got there eventually.

It started with a shower, with a specific soap that Steve had chosen, a different scent from his usual. He had a particular set of towels to dry off with and a robe that he only wore between their bathroom and the playroom. And then it ended with him here, kneeling on the carpet, blind, waiting and trying not to squirm.

The clock was ticking gently in the background, a comforting consistency that Tony let lull him along with the feeling of the plush carpet against his legs, and the whispers of air currents cool against his skin. He didn’t have to be anything here, nothing but Steve’s toy, or his good boy, or his naughty sub, whatever they needed together. He didn’t need his brain, just his skin and nerves and body. Steve could create works of art with marks and bruises on his skin. He could conduct symphonies in Tony’s whimpers and shouts.

And Tony didn’t have to do anything.

The clock ticked on and Tony let the time carry him forward until Steve’s hands landed on his shoulders and it was time to begin.
