Lara remembers that one time when John and Mary were brought back from the dead as a reward for saving the gods and angels in heaven. Despite the joyful occasion, Mary and John's reunion with the family was short-lived. The siblings were grateful as was John and Mary Winchester. Lara smiles at the second chance to form a relationship as an adult with their parents. She was grateful to the angel who brought this forward, she didn't know which angel had done so she knew one was responsible for the great memories that she got to form is their parents as an adult.
If she thought that it would help she would grant Derek the same wish, a chance to make wonderful memories with his family. But she knew that this would only give grief and more guilt for Derek, and she wanted to spare this.

The family settled around the dining table, a plate of homemade food by their parents. it was wrecked with complete silence. No one said a word for good to half an hour. Just kept staring at each other. food and drinks forgotten for a moment, as each one puzzles over what is to come.
it was John who broke the silence, "All alright, as far I can tell, we have two choices. think about what's coming or we can be grateful for this time we have together. I for one, choose to be grateful." he took Marry's hand and kissed it and adds " so whatever power got us together, we owe you one, Amen"
Lara looked around the table and a rare smile pulled at Dean's lips. who was the first to agree with the statement saying "amen"
Marry made eye contact with John, shining with Love to do a great with the statement saying "Amen"
Thena smiled, she was beaming with joy when she too agreed with the statement and authority she said "Amen"
Sam what's so quiet through it all, there was so much emotion playing one of his face. his voice was laced with mixed emotions as he agreed with the family and said, "Amen"
They all look at her and Lara's face breaks out in a wide smile. her eyes pointed upwards to the ceiling as she added "Thank you" They were not perfect, but they were family, her crazy dysfunctional family. She too agrees with the rest of the family "Amen".
End of flashback.
Lara and Thena both knew, this moment was short-lived and they were not going to waste it, they were going to embrace and make memories of every chance they had with their parents starting right now.
They all raise their glasses of peanut toast, you start digging into the food. There me something about Dad's roast that brings back memories. childhood before the fire in the nursery. the way they sit around the table and laugh telling each other about things that were going on in their lives.
