Chapter 3

You cry out as your grip slowly loosens. Your fingers slip off the ledge, and you desperately try to cling on, but it's futile. Panic sets in as you realize you're going to fall, and fear grips your heart.

"PLEASE HELP ME!" You scream, pleading desperately.

Amidst the chaos, another explosion shatters the ledge you're desperately holding onto. Your grip weakens, and you feel yourself plunging into the void. As you fall, your eyes lock onto Spiderman engaged in a fierce battle with the Green Goblin. In that moment of desperation, he spots you and reacts instantly, leaping off the building towards you.

His hand reaches out, so close to touching yours, but fate intervenes cruelly. He's suddenly slammed away, pulled from your grasp just as rescue seemed within reach. He almost had you... he almost saved you. The disappointment and fear intertwine as you continue your descent, the ground rushing up to meet you.

As you fall through the air, time seems to stretch, making the world around you appear both distant and crystal clear. Tears well up in your eyes, suspended in the air like tiny, glistening droplets. Though gravity pulls you down at an alarming speed, the sensation feels like an eternity of torment.

In this surreal moment, your life flashes before your eyes, a tapestry of cherished memories and heartfelt connections.

You blink, and you find yourself sitting at the kitchen table during early mornings, sunlight streaming through the curtains. Your grandfather sits across from you, a warm smile on his face, sharing breakfast and laughter, creating memories that etch themselves into your heart.

Another blink, and your aunt's loving gaze meets yours, as she affectionately strokes your cheek. Her words of pride and love embrace you, providing comfort and reassurance during these final moments.

As you close your eyes, images of dear friends fill your mind. You find yourself walking with them, sharing laughter and joy. The memory of bumping into Gwen playfully, your shared laughter, and Hobie's playful side hug bring a sense of camaraderie and warmth. You recall the smiles and genuine connection you shared with Miles.

And finally, you watch yourself in Miguel's arms. He's holding you, looking at you with that gaze only he can pull off. He's smiling, truly smiling, telling you he loves you. He tilts your chin up and kisses you tenderly. Your foreheads touch, and he holds you there.

And in that moment, a sense of happiness washes over you. The memories are undeniably beautiful, and you find solace in accepting them. Amidst the chaos of falling, you are at peace, embracing the bittersweet beauty of your end.

The sky above you erupts into a monstrous thunder, jolting your eyes open as vibrant colors explode across the canvas of the heavens. A gasp escapes your lips as red lightning surges toward you, striking your chest. However, instead of pain, you are left suspended in midair, gasping and screaming, realizing you're now hovering about six stories above the ground.

In a sudden twist of fate, the lightning connected to your chest forcefully propels you upward. You soar, mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of colors in the sky as a figure takes shape amidst the luminous display. The lightning seems to emanate from his hands, drawing you closer to him at an astonishing speed. Before you can fully comprehend, he falls before you, gripping your wrist firmly.

The eyes on his mask squint down at you, and with a firm yet gentle grasp, he pulls you up and places you on his broad shoulder. Swiftly, he shoots his red laser-like webs, securing you both onto a nearby building's rooftop. As he lands, you find yourself splayed over his shoulder, his hold on you almost suffocatingly tight.

In a moment of relief, he eases his grip, allowing you to slide down into his arms. He cradles you in a bridal style, his head slowly tilting until his gaze locks with yours.

"Are-" he stammers, his voice slightly trembling, "are you okay?"

You nod slowly, gazing at him with wide eyes. It's Spiderman, or at least a version of him with a more futuristic suit. The familiarity brings comfort, even in this extraordinary situation.

"I, uh... I've never," he starts, his voice quivering as he struggles to maintain his composure, "last time i… i didn’t make it in time."

You don't quite grasp what he means, but you can sense the fear and urgency in his hold. He clings to you tightly, as if he's afraid you might vanish from his arms at any moment, as if he fears losing you.

‘’Are you okay…?’’ You asked, hesitantly.

As you observe him, his shoulders seem to falter, as though he's trying to suppress tears hidden behind the mask. Despite not fully understanding the reasons as to why, an overwhelming sense of empathy washes over you. Instinctively, you cling onto him, wrapping your arms around his head, embracing him tightly.

He freezes momentarily, seemingly caught off guard by your embrace, but soon, his shoulders start to shake ever so slightly. Gradually, he reciprocates, wrapping his arms around you, clinging to you with a tender grip.

"It's… it's okay. I'm here. I've got you," you whisper, your voice soft and uncertain, yet filled with a genuine need to offer him comfort.

He rests his head in the crook of your neck, and you can feel the way his shoulders slump, that he was weeping, quietly against you. You hold on to him tighter, running your hand over the back of his head. You're not sure why you're the one comforting him instead of the other way around, but you can’t help but feel the need to hold him.

As you listen, you hear the tiniest, faint sound of a whimper escaping him, and your heart tightens with pain. In that moment all you want to do is hold him and comfort him, keep him safe.

Softly, you start to hum, the gentle melody vibrating between you as you hold him close. You hold him close, whispering comforting words, assuring him that everything will be alright, that you have him, that you both are safe, and that he saved you.

Time seems to stretch, making the moment feel like an eternity. Yet, as the seconds pass, he slowly pulls away, but not entirely. His body leans against yours, and his forehead gently rests against yours. It's an intimate gesture, a shared moment of vulnerability that leaves you breathless.

‘’Si solo...’’ he mumbled, ‘’lo deseo con todo mi corazon… mi amor.’’

Gently, he lowers you back to the ground, handling you with utmost care, as though afraid any sudden movement might cause harm. He turns his attention towards your Spiderman, who joins you both on the rooftop.

Instantly, your Spiderman envelops you in a tight hug, clinging on to you. Words of gratitude pour from him, a continuous stream of thanks, as he clings to you, never wanting to release you from his embrace. Together, you both look up, your eyes meeting those of the other Spiderman. Taller and more muscular, this futuristic version stands before you, watching the scene unfold.

He watches you silently for a moment, and then, with purposeful steps, he turns around, another vibrant cloud of colors forming before him. It's at that moment realization strikes, and you can't help but call out to him.

"Thank you!" you shout, your voice filled with heartfelt gratitude.

He pauses, glancing over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of your Spiderman bowing his head in silent appreciation. As his gaze shifts from your Spiderman to you, his expression softens.

"¡No lo menciones, mi amor," he mumbles, looking forward again as he confidently steps through the colorful cloud. And just like that, he disappears.
