Forever They Do Belong (Final)
A week passed, and in the morning, Chuuya and Dazai woke up in each other's arms. Their naked bodies still intertwined just like every day in the week. Dazai was the first to stir, blinking sleepily as he took in the sight of Chuuya nestled against him, his ginger hair spread like a fan on the pillow. Dazai smiled softly and ran his fingers though Chuuya's hair, causing Chuuya to mumble something incomprehensible in his sleep.
"Hey, sleepyhead," Dazai whispered, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to Chuuya's forehead. "It's time to wake up."
Chuuya's heart fluttered open, and he looked up at Dazai with a sleepy smile. "Morning," he murmured, snuggling closer. "Do we have to get up?"
Dazai chuckled. "Unfortunately, yes. We have a lot to do today. Remember, we decided to tell our moms about us."
Chuuya groaned and buried his face in Dazai's chest. "Can't we just stay here forever?"
"As much as I would love that, we can't avoid this conversation forever," Dazai said, his tone serious but gentle. "They need to know."
Chuuya sighed and nodded, reluctantly sitting up and stretching. "You are right. Let's get ready."
They both got out of bed and went about their morning routine, the air between them filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. After a quick shower and a light breakfast, they dressed casually but neatly, wanting to make a good impression.
As they finished getting ready, Chuuya glanced at Dazai. "Are you nervous?"
Dazai nodded. "A little. But I know we can handle this together."
Chuuya smiled and took Dazai's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Yeah, together."
They left their apartment and headed to the café where they had planned to meet their mothers. The walk there was quiet, both of them lost in their thoughts. When they arrived, they spotted Yosano and Kouyou sitting at a corner table, chatting animatedly.
Chuuya took a deep breath and squeezed Dazai's hand once more before they approached the table. "Here goes nothing," he whispered.
Yosano and Kouyou looked up as the boys approached, their faces lighting up with smiles. "There you are! We were starting to wonder if you got lost," Yosano teased.
"Sorry, we took a bit longer getting ready," Dazai said, pulling out a chair for Chuuya before sitting down himself.
Kouyou raised an eyebrow. "Everything okay, boys? You seem a bit... Tense."
Chuuya and Dazai exchanged a glance, silently deciding who would speak first. Dazai cleared his throat and nodded. "Actually, we have something important to tell you both."
Yosano and Kouyou looked at each other, then back at the boys. "Go on," Yosano encouraged.
Taking a deep breath, Chuuya began. "Mom, Yosano-san... Dazai and I... We are in a relationship."
The table fell silent as Yosano and Kouyou absorbed the news. Finally, Yosano spoke, her voice gentle. "Are you sure about this? Have you thought it through?"
Chuuya nodded firmly. "We have. This is not something we decided on a whim. We have been feeling this way for a while, and we believe it's the right thing for us."
Kouyou reached out and took Chuuya's hand, squeezing it gently. "As long as you are both happy and have thought this through, we support you."
Yosano nodded in agreement. "Yes, your happiness is what matters most. We are just glad you felt comfortable enough to tell us."
Relief washed over Chuuya and Dazai, their tension melting away. "Thank you," Dazai said, his voice filled with gratitude. "We were so worried about how you would react."
Yosano smiled. "You are our sons. We love you, no matter what."
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, the atmosphere relaxing as they enjoyed their time together. Chuuya and Dazai felt a weight lift off their shoulders, grateful for their mothers' understanding and support.
After they finished their meal, they decided to take a walk in the nearby park. The sun was shining, and the fresh air was a welcome change. As they strolled through the park, Chuuya and Dazai fell a few steps behind their mothers, enjoying a moment of privacy.
They went better than I expected," Chuuya said, a smile playing on his lips.
Dazai nodded. "Yeah, it did. I'm glad they took it so well."
Chuuya tiptoed and kissed Dazai's cheek. "Me too. I feel like we can really move forward now."
Dazai wrapped an arm around Chuuya's shoulders. "And we will, together."
They continued their walk, their step in sync, their hearts light. The rest of the day was spent enjoying each other's company, sharing laughter and stories. It felt like a new beginning, a fresh chapter in their lives.
As evening approached, they made their way back to their apartment, the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. Chuuya glanced at Dazai, a thoughtful look in his eyes. "So, what now?"
Dazai smiled. "Now, we live our lives. We take it one day at a time, supporting each other through whatever comes our way."
Chuuya nodded, feeling a sense of peace. "I like the sound of that."
They entered their apartment, closing the door behind them. The familiar surroundings felt different, imbued with a new sense of hope and possibility. They settled on the couch, Chuuya resting his head on Dazai's shoulder.
"You know," Dazai began, "I was really scared about telling them. But now that we have, I feel like we can face anything."
Chuuya smiled, his fingers intertwining with Dazai's. "Me too. As long as we are together, we can handle anything."
Dazai leaned down and kissed Chuuya, a tender and loving kiss that spoke volumes. "I love you, Chuuya."
"I love you too, Dazai," Chuuya replied, his heart swelling with emotion.
The rest of the evening was spent in each other's arms, talking about their hopes and dreams for the future. They knew there would be challenges ahead, but they also knew they had each other. And that was enough.
As they drifted off to sleep that night, still wrapped in each other's embrace, they felt a sense of contentment and belonging. They were no longer just step-brothers. They were partners, lovers, and best friends, ready to face whatever the future held, together. Together, they were stronger, and together, they would find their way.
