Note
Hello!Welcome to my new story! It has been in drafts, but I could publish it now, because I had some things to do also another intern drove me crazy! Before starting to this story, I want to give some warnings.1. This is a boy x boy story, there may be smut at some point, if you are uncomfortable so please don't read the story.2. This story contains step brothers falling in love with each other. THEY ARE NOT BLOOD RELATED! I'm emphasizing it, because some people don't understand the step sibling concept and think it is incest. Let's check the meaning of incest.Incest: Voluntary or involuntary sexual intercourse between blood related relatives.STEP SIBLINGS ARE NOT BLOOD RELATED SO IT IS NOT INCEST!IF IT WAS HALF - SIBLINGS RELATIONSHIP IT WOULD BE INCEST BECAUSE HALF-SIBLINGS ARE BLOOD RELATED!Since stepsiblings are not blood relatives, they are legally free to marry each other. There are no state laws that prohibit marriage between stepsiblings since they are not at risk of having children with genetic defects due to being close blood relatives.3. In this story Kouyou is Chuuya's mother and Paul is Chuuya's father. If you will say something about this, please leave at this instant... I really have enough bullshits in my life and I don't need more. It doesn't have to make sense to you, but it is not something to dwell on.Anyway enjoy ^-^.

Snowfall Confessions And Tender Care

I don't know you, but I want you
All the more for that

The snow fell softly, blanketing the city in a serene white cover. Atsushi, bundled up in a thick coat and gloves, stood outside Dazai's house with a mischievous grin. That day, Atsushi had decided it was time to be brave and confess his feelings.

He took a deep breath, his heart pounding with nervous excitement. With a handful of snow, he aimed for Dazai's window, intending to get his attention. Little did he know, the window was open, inviting the crisp air into Dazai's room.

The snowball sailed through the open window with surprising accuracy, landing on Dazai's desk and scattering papers in its wake.

Atsushi winced, realizing his miscalculation. He watched as Dazai appeared at the window, his expression a mix of annoyance and amusement.

"What in the world, Atsushi?" Dazai called out, leaning against the window frame with a raised eyebrow.

Atsushi sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "Sorry, I didn't realize the window was open. I just wanted to say hi."

Dazai chuckled, shaking his head. "You never fail to surprise me. Come on up."

Heart racing, Atsushi climbed the stairs to Dazai's apartment. Each step felt like a leap into the unknown. When he reached the door, Dazai was already there, a playful glint in his eyes.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Dazai said with a flourish, holding the door open.

Atsushi stepped inside, taking in the cozy chaos of Dazai's living space. Books were scattered everywhere, some open with bookmarks peeking out, others stacked precariously on shelves.

"Sorry about the mess," Dazai apologized half-heartedly, as if he were proud of the disorder.

"It's... Uh, charming," Atsushi replied, trying not to sound too nervous.

Dazai flashed him a smile that sent butterflies fluttering in Atsushi's stomach. "Can I offer you some coffee?"

"Sure, that would be great," Atsushi replied, grateful for the distraction.

As Dazai disappeared into the kitchen, Atsushi took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. This was it, the moment he had been building up to for months. He couldn't let fear hold him back now.

When Dazai returned with two steaming mugs of tea, Atsushi gathered his courage. "Dazai, there is something I need to tell you."

Dazai raised an eyebrow, settling into his chair. "Oh? Do tell."

Atsushi took a sip of tea, relishing the warmth spreading through him. "I... I have admired you for a long time. Not just for your intelligence or your wit, but for who are as a person. You are kind, despite your facade of indifference. You care deeply, even if you try to hide it.

The room seemed to hold its breath as Atsushi spoke. Dazai's expression was unreadable, his gaze on fixed on Atsushi with intense focus.

"You are confessing your love for me," Dazai said slowly, as if testing the words on his tongue.

Atsushi nodded, his heart pounding loudly he was sure Dazai could hear it.

Dazai set his mug down and leaned forward, studying Atsushi with a newfound seriousness. "Atsushi, I... I never expected this."

The words hung in the air, heavy with uncertainty. Atsushi's chest tightened with anticipation, waiting for Dazai's response.

"I have always seen you as a dear friend, someone I can trust and rely on," Dazai continued, his tone gentle. "But love... Love is a different matter altogether."

Atsushi's heart sank, the weight of rejection settling over him like a heavy blanket. He forced a smile, trying to mask his disappointment. "I understand. I just needed to be honest with you."

Dazai reached across the table, his hand covering Atsushi's briefly. "Atsushi, don't mistake my surprise for rejection. I need time to process this, to understand my own feelings. Can you give me that?"

Hope flickered in Atsushi's chest like a candle in the wind. "Of course, Dazai. I will wait for you."

It was a crisp morning, despite the chilly winter air, it wasn't snowing. So Akutagawa and Chuuya had decided to go for a bike ride.

As they pedaled through the quiet streets, the cool breeze ruffled their hair, and laughter filled the air as they playfully raced each other. Chuuya, always the adventurous one, decided to take a sharp turn down a narrow alley, urging Akutagawa to follow.

"Come on, Ryuunosuke! Don't be a chicken," Chuuya called out teasingly, his voice filled with excitement.

Akutagawa rolled his but couldn't suppress a smile. He sped up, following Chuuya down the alley, their bikes weaving expertly between trash cans and parked cars. The thrills of chase filled them both with adrenaline, their laughter echoing off the walls.

But then, as they rounded a corner, disaster struck. A stray cat darted across their path, causing Chuuya to brake suddenly. His bike skidded on a patch of loose gravel, and before he could react, he was thrown over the handlebars, crashing onto the pavement with a loud thud.

"Akutagawa!" Chuuya's cry of pain pierced the air, instantly bringing Akutagawa to a halt. He abandoned his bike and rushed to Chuuya's side, his heart pounding with fear.

"Chuuya, are you okay? What hurts?" Akutagawa asked urgently, kneeling beside his injured boyfriend.

Chuuya winced as he tried to sit up, clutching his arm. "I think I landed on my shoulder. It hurts like hell."

Akutagawa's expression softened with concern. "Let me help you up. We need to get you home and check that injury."

Together, they managed to get Chuuya back on his feet, albeit with some difficulty. Chuuya gritted his teeth against the pain, trying to put on a brave front for Akutagawa's sake.

They abandoned their bikes and slowly made their way back to Chuuya's apartment, Akutagawa supporting most of Chuuya's weight. The walk felt like an eternity.

Once they reached the apartment, Akutagawa guided Chuuya to the couch and helped him sit down gently. Chuuya hissed as he eased himself into a more comfortable position, his injured shoulder throbbing.

"I will go get some ice and a first aid kid," Akutagawa said, already moving towards the kitchen.

Chuuya nodded weakly, watching Akutagawa with grateful eyes. Despite the pain, he couldn't help but feel lucky to have someone like Akutagawa by his side.

Akutagawa returned with a bag of ice and well-stocked first aid kit. He carefully applied the ice pack to Chuuya's shoulder, earning a relieved sigh from his boyfriend.

"Thanks, Ryuunosuke," Chuuya murmured, leaning back against the cushions.

Akutagawa sat beside him, his expression filled with worry. "I should clean up that scrape on your knee too. Let me take a look."

Chuuya nodded, lifting his leg to give Akutagawa access to the scrape on his knee. Akutagawa cleaned the wound gently, his touch feather-light despite the seriousness of the situation.

"You are really good at this," Chuuya commented, watching Akutagawa's focused expression.

"I have had my fair share of injuries," Akutagawa replied with a small smile. "I know how much it sucks."

Chuuya chuckled weakly. "Yeah, tell me about it."

Silence settled between them for a moment, the only sound the soft hum of the refrigator. Chuuya glanced at Akutagawa, his gaze lingering on the worry lines creasing his forehead.

"You don't have to stay here and take care of me, you know," Chuuya said quietly. "You have your own classes and projects to worry about."

Akutagawa shook his head. "You are more important than any class or project. I want to make sure you are okay."

Chuuya's heart warmed at Akutagawa's words. Despite their occasional bickering and differences, there was no denying the depth of their feelings for each other.

"I'm lucky to have you," Chuuya said, reaching out to squeeze Akutagawa's hand.

Akutagawa's gaze softened, and he leaned in to press a gentle kiss Chuuya's forehead. "I'm the lucky one."

"I should probably head home soon," Akutagawa said reluctantly, checking the time on his phone.

Chuuya nodded, though a part of him wished Akutagawa could stay longer. "Thanks for taking care of me, Ryuunosuke. I owe you one."

Akutagawa smiled, a rare genuine smile that lit up his eyes. "You don't owe me anything. Just promise me you will be more careful next time."

Chuuya chuckled. "I will try my best."

They stood up together, and Akutagawa helped Chuuya get ready for bed, making sure he was comfortable before saying goodnight.

As Akutagawa prepared to leave, Chuuya called out to him from the bedroom doorway. "Hey, Ryuunosuke?"

Akutagawa turned to face him, looking at him in question.

Chuuya hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Thanks for being my rock today. I don't know what I would do without you."

Akutagawa stepped closer to Chuuya, wrapping him in a gentle hug. "You will never have to find out. I will always be here for you, Chuuya."

Days turned into weeks, and Atsushi and Dazai's friendship deepened. They continued to study together, discuss literature late into the night, and share moments of quiet companionship. Yet, the unspoken tension between them lingered, a silent question waiting to be answered.

One chilly evening, as they sat by the window watching snowflakes dance in the streetlights, Dazai broke the silence.

"Atsushi, I have had time to think," Dazai began, his voice steady but tinged with vulnerability. "I may not have the same feelings as you right now, but I can't deny that there is something between us."

Atsushi turned to him, eyes wide with hope. "What do you mean?"

Dazai took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering. "I mean, I want to explore this... Whatever it is, with you. I can't promise where it will lead, but I want to find out together."

A rush warmth flooded Atsushi's chest, a smile spreading across his face. "I would like that, Dazai. I would like that a lot."
