Months of investigating
*NADYA POV*
It's been a total of 3 months since we found out that Natasha might be brought back. It's been months of despair, arguments and crying. After the first month passed, many of us were ready to give up, we couldn't find a way to bring her back. But we managed to carry on with the mission.
The first week of the mission was the hardest, Carol was told on another planet about the watcher, as I understand it is an entity that sees everything in the multiverse and has the power to restore anything in all of them, even bring people back to life. But we couldn't find them.
Wanda and Yelena had an argument, Yelena was afraid that if she got her hopes up that Natasha might come back, they would be taken away from her which she didn't want to help, and Wanda was almost sure she could be brought back and wanted Yelena to help. In the end Yelena decided to help and without her we would not have made it.
Now we were on the ship of the Guardians of the Galaxy, or so they say they are called, about to leave. They knew Natasha during the 5 years of the snap, they say they became great friends. Although it still amazes me to see a talking raccoon and a tree saying "I am Groot" all the time.
In the ship we were the guardians, Wanda, Yelena, Carol, Thor and me. The others had stayed in New York, along with Clint and Tony, including America.
-We will make the jump in three... Two... One!-. Nebula yelled and I swallowed dryly holding on to the straps, closing my eyes for a second.
I turned to look at Yelena, who was next to me, who abruptly turned her face towards Wanda who had her eyes closed, when she opened her eyes she turned to see Yelena, giving her a slight smile. I think Yelena had adopted Wanda as her big sister just like me. Wanda always took care of us, made us breakfast and made sure to take care of our wounds when we came back from a mission. I grabbed the necklace Wanda gave me from Natasha and held it tight. I looked at Wanda, who was already looking at me, and whispered "thank you" to which she smiled back and whispered back "I love you, baby." I turned back to Yelena, and reached out my hand to her, she immediately realized what I was asking for and grabbed my hand, squeezing it gently.
The plan was to get to the center of the universe, no one on the team had ever been there, so it was hard to know that we might find ourselves there. Carol and America told us everything they knew about it, they both heard about it on many of their journeys through the universe, or in America's case, the multiverse.
The jump caused us to reach a place with immense darkness. The plan was to create a big threat by having the vigilante appear and from there try to get him to bring our sister back. We didn't know if it would work but we had to try.
Wanda, Yelena, and I were wearing outfits that would allow us to move around the place. They had been created by Tony, which allowed Wanda and me to use our powers.
- Good, Nadya, I need you to absorb as much power as you can, I need your phoenix to come out with impressive force, I need you to look like a threat. If it doesn't work out, Wanda and I will team up, okay? - Carol asked me.
- done - I told her.
It was absorbing all the power it could causing a yellowish light to appear and illuminate the place. In my head I listened to the lessons that Jean gave me every day when I lived with her team. She was already an experienced phoenix and helped me a lot with my powers.
After a few seconds I opened my eyes and in front of me I found a huge man
- The watchman - I murmured
- What do you want, Nadezhda? - said the man, his voice was so strong that it resounded throughout the place, which surprised me a lot, I thought that there could be no echo in space.
- I want you to bring Natasha Romanoff back - I answered.
Apparently the watchman had created a type of floor with water around it. So I decided to go to where the others were standing.
- I can't do such a thing, your sacrifice maintains the balance in the universe - he answered, which made me angry and fire came out of my hands.
After several training sessions with Jean, we realized that not only did she have the same powers as Jean, but she also had fire manipulation. HYDRA really wanted to destroy Jean so they gave me extra power.
(N/A I wasn't really sure if fire manipulation could be included in Jean's powers and that's why I researched it and none of the pages showed anything about fire manipulation and that's why I wrote this, if you think she does have it then do as if this was not there, thanks )
-For her sacrifice she deserves to return! Natasha deserves the life she always wanted but was denied to live since she was a child! -. Wanda yelled really making the others go silent, including me - We are just stories for you, we are not real, you watch us fight, lose, win... You only saw us, did you eat popcorn while Thanos ended our world? - Wanda asked.
- They are much more than that for me - replied the watchman
- Then repair my world - I muttered with so much pain in my voice
- I can not-. He murmured Watcher causing a tear to run down my cheek.
- Bring Natasha back, bring my girlfriend... Haven't we suffered enough already? Doesn't Natasha deserve a happy ending? Why not bring her back? Natasha deserves a happy ending, please. Give me back my fiancée - Wanda begged, surprising everyone by saying that she was his fiancée
Every one of the team members began to beg the guard to bring Natasha back, each and every one of them had a place in their hearts for my sister.
*NO POV*
The Watcher knew the value that the redhead brought and the pain that all those present felt when they found out about the death of said woman. He already knew that after his death the world was not the same and he knew that it would never be the same without the presence of the Black Widow. Already in many other universes the redhead had been lost and the world always came to destruction. She was the glue of the Avengers and without her there was no group. Therefore, The Watcher broke his oath and brought Natasha back.
- I have listened to everything said here and I have decided that I will bring Natasha back from this universe - The Watcher finally said
All the hearts of those present began to beat very fast, they did not believe that they would finally see the redhead again.
Seconds later, the Watcher disappeared, leaving the team back in the dark. Therefore, Nadya used her fire powers to make some light, it wasn't enough to illuminate the whole place, but it was enough to see each other.
- Where is she?-. Thor asked looking around.
No one knew exactly what was happening until a loud gasp was heard from their right side, they all turned in that direction, only to see how someone came out of the water, taking a strong breath.
