It was the first time I brought Yelena and Nadya home, Wanda had been here many times before, along with Aunt Nat. I was very excited to show Nadya my home, and if it could be, that it would also become her home too.
This was Auntie Nat's home since she first arrived, it was like an escape for her, a place where she didn't have to think about fights and deaths, that's what she always told me, and I hoped it would be the same for Nadya and Yelena.
A home for each of them
When the quintet landed, my mother and siblings could already be seen at the door, I hadn't seen Cooper for quite a few months, as he left for college. My father was the first to get out of the quinjet and then Wanda, I could see how Nadya and Yelena looked a bit uncomfortable, so I approached them
- Hey, what are you waiting for? my family will love you, don't worry - I said to them.
Yelena nodded her head and got up from the seat and went to the entrance of the house, where they were all hugging each other after several months without seeing each other.
But it seemed that Nadya needed some confirmation.
- Nadya, I promise they will love you, besides, I will be with you all the time - I told her and she looked up from the floor and looked me in the eyes.
- Do you promise? - she said extending her little finger
- I promise - I answered intertwining our fingers.
We both stood up and I took her hand, we went to the entrance to meet the others, when I saw that they were looking at us, I let go of her hand, knowing that she did not like to show this kind of affection in public. It didn't bother me, but I needed her to feel comfortable, and if that meant no affection in public, I accepted it. But, as I was about to release my hand from hers, she grabbed me tighter so I couldn't let go and looked at me.
- Don't let go, please - she whispered to me with those beautiful green eyes.
- I promise - I whispered back and squeezed her hand and smiled at her looking into her eyes.
I was never going to let her go
- Mom - I called my mother when she stopped hugging my father and Wanda
- Honey - she said coming closer to hug me - and I guess you are Nadya and Yelena, right? - she said looking at each of them
Yelena and Nadya just nodded, the latter squeezing my hand more. I really liked how Nadya felt confident enough with me to show me her feelings, like now, she was showing me how nervous she was.
- Well, let's go in - said my mother, knowing not to push any further.
She already has experience with Auntie Nat, the first time she came she didn't speak either, and she also had that look on her face that showed no emotion whatsoever.
When we entered the house, it was time to eat, the table was set and the food served, so we each sat in a chair, Nadya on my right and my mother on my left. Wanda was on the other side of my mother and my father on the other side of Wanda, and finally Yelena on the other side of Nadya.
We started eating and the only people talking were me and my parents, Yelena and Nadya just ate and listened and Wanda wouldn't even look at us. I still didn't understand why she was so pissed at Yelena and Nadya.
When we were all done, we cleared the table and went to our rooms, Nadya and I shared my room and Yelena and Wanda were in the guest room. No one dared to go into Auntie Nat's room.
