Matthrew Murdock was terrified of a child. But this wasn't just some child, it was spiderman. Spiderman, who had deceived so many, although never killed anyone. He was terrified because he knew damn well, the kid was lying. It was something he might have let slip during their first talk.

He knew that the kid killed Mysterio. He also knew, for a fact that this Mysterio was the bad guy here, no one understood manipulative people better than him. But even their heart rate sped up, they panicked or even flinched sometimes while lying and here is this, sixteen year old with absolutely nothing to loose lying like a goddamned expert.

So Matt wasn't terrified that this kid has superpowers he is terrified of what will happen if he loses this moral compass of his. The court room was silent, except for Peter's few sniffles. Everyone looked sympathetic and the judge looked troubled.
"You okay?" Foggy asked him. "Yeah, I guess." He heard a shift in Foggy's heartbeat and understood that he was worried but didn't want to mention it. At least in the court room. Thank God for that.

After a few hours of waiting outside, the results finally came. Peter Parker was after all deemed not guilty and it had been Mysterio who had tricked him into believing that the drones were a harmless experiment that would only save the people from the Elemental attacks. His aunt was right next to him, hugging him and comforting him in any way possible.

Peter got up and walked towards Mat. Out of nowhere the brown-eyed boy hugged him and muttered a quick, "Thank you, Mr.Murdock." Matthrew only smiled.

"It was all you, Parker."

That night Matt was discussing the case with Karen and Foggy when he asked them how they felt about the kid. "Absolute sweetheart. Never met a more innocent and selfless person like him before and to think he has to go through so much. If I were him I would already have become a villain." Foggy replied. He was a little sad. Mat felt that and then there was a shift in Karen's heart beat.

"I like him too but I don't know what they will do now that they know he is spiderman." She was anxious and nervous but then she turned to question over. "Why, do you not like him?"

"He is nice, I guess."

"Matt I have heard you use 'i guess' twice today. You don't 'guess'. I suppose, you do that. But you at least pretend to know for sure. What's wrong? I am worried." Foggy inquires. Mat smiled, "Nothing is wrong, something just doesn't seem right." They ended that conversation there and went back home to sleep it off.

Matthrew made sure to keep an eye on the red and blue clad hero always after that, in case he lost it and did something bat shit crazy. Little did he know, Spiderman always knew when someone was watching him. Hmm...maybe not the spiderman of this dimension. He clearly didn't know because he was now somewhere no one would ever find him and he, Peter Parker, was here.
