The thing about forgetting something, is that when you remember it, it sometimes can be a great experience.....and sometimes it can be a great pain in the ass.
That is the situation Tony is on right now, with the recently pardoned Rogue Avengers coming back.
Context, it has been a year since the so called Civil War, and the Rouges spent a year in exile, hiding from the repecurtions of their actions.
During that time, Tony amended the Accords, fixed Rhodey's legs and made him the leader the Avengers need, recruited new members, helped Coulson establish the new SHIELD, and most of all, he went to therapy and got a healthy doses of common sense.
On his letter, Rogers had said that locks can be replaced, and he was right, locks can be replaced, and Tony certainly needed to do so. Thanks to his friends, he realized how toxic Rogers and his crew were, and that Tony should get the hell away from them.
It was just around this time that the Guardians of the Galaxy first arrived.
The group quite literally crashed on his backyard, making Tony prepare the poor personal of the compound for an attack, that was never gonna happen.
He went with Vision to investigate the crash, thinking that they were gonna come across enemies. Turns out, the aliens that had come in were friendly, and the reason they crashed was because a man and a raccoon were fighting on who the best pilot was.
Tony was just confused to see a talking Raccoon, when a green woman surprised him even more.
"You are Tony Stark ?"
Tony and Vision turned to her in shock.
"Eh yes....who are you ? How do you know me ?"
"Gamora, and for the other question. It is a long question."
Turns out, Loki had been nothing but a pawn on the invasion, which was truly lead by a guy named Thanos. Who had investigated Tony after he flew the nuke and had taken an interested in him. Gamora had known this as she and her sister Nebula (the blue one that terrified Tony at the moment) were actually his daughters. And by daughters it was that the titan took them after killing their people and raised them to be his assassins. And he thought Howard was cold.
Netherless, despite their old arrival, Tony had hit off with the Guardians almost instantly.
The weird but odd group were, what in a time, Tony had thought the Avengers were. A family. They cared for each other, and looked out for each other as equals. Quill was the leader sure, but no one was afraid to question him, nore Quill was against admitting he was wrong.
What’s more. The Guardians treated Tony with respect. Genuinely wanting to get him to kn
He spent hours showing Peter how Earth has changed. Spent the same amount of time with Rocket on the labs. He tried his best to understand Groot. Drax was always fun to have around and always made sure Tony never felt threatened by his massive figure. Mantis was always so gentle, and uses her powers (with his consent, every time) So Tony can relax and sleep better. He worked hard to make sure Nebula was actually comfortable on her body, and in return, she started joining him and Rocket on the labs. He spent time with Gamora the most. When she was helping him get in shape, by wiping his ass, she was there on the labs when he was helping Nebula...or sometimes when he wasn’t. The most common time though was when he didn’t get an extra boost from Mantis (he didn’t want to grow dependent on her powers) and his thoughts and nightmares kept him awake. For some reason she was there when he was awake. Those times they would stay awake together, sometimes talking, sometimes not, the presence of each other being enough.
He later found out FRIDAY made sure Gamora knew when Tony was awake. His AI having grown fond of her as well. He didn’t complain but wondered what was her endgame.
He would find out months later. On one of the Guardian’s visit. When another midnight talk led to Tony going back to sleep....with her, on his bed. Both with barley any clothing.
Turns out his AI was trying to pair him up with the Deadliest woman in the galaxy. Sneaky girl.
Not that he would complain. Tony didn’t want to remain alone. He and Pepper gave each other the go ahead in case they found someone. And Gamora was someone he really got along. They had a lot in common and understood each other. That and.....she is absolutely beautiful.
Rhodey had been the first to figure it out.
“Tony, question. Did someone else happen to sleep on your bed, and was this person green ?”
“Yep. Why honey bear ?”
“Fuck yes ! Now Scott, Jessica and Luke own me 30 bucks !”
“Huh ?”
“We made a bet. Either you and Gamora would finally act on the obvious sexual tension first, or Carol and Daisy would.”
“And you placed your hope on me. I’m honored honey bear !”
So yeah, from that moment Tony gained an awesome hot space girlfriend, that he really loved.
So much in fact, that the first time the Guardians had to leave, Rhodey came and handled Tony’s bags.
“I’m not about to watch you complain how much you miss her.” Rhodey joked. For Rhodey, it was refreshing to see Tony like this, being on a healthy relationship, both team wise and romantically.
Since then, Tony spent time in space with the Guardians, going on in crazy adventures and meeting new people. He even visited Thor on Asgard, surprising him with Jane one time.
He still wondered why Odín was so interested on him though.
His travels to space eventually lead him to become the Ambasador of Earth. With the arrival of Thor, Loki, and the Guardians, Earth was being noticed, and it needed someone to represent him. It just happened the Galaxy had gained respect for the man that managed to foil the Mad Titan’s plans. It made him the perfect choice for it.
Sure he was now even more busy, he was still working for S.I, is an Avenger, and now this. But despite all of that, he was happy with his life.
And then of course, the pardons came in.
He had been in space when the news came. With Thanos potentially attacking any day now, there had been talks about bringing them back. He had known about them. Still didn’t mean he was happy about it.
“Rhodes told me about the pardons.” Gamora said the night they found out.
“It was to be expected.”
“You know no one will Let them come close to you. Either us, or the New Avengers.”
“I know. And I won’t let them walk over me again. I’ve learned my lesson.”
“That’s what I wanted to hear.” She said, closing in and kissing him,
“And if they come close, we will crush them.” Drax said, spooking both Tony And Gamora.
“Dude, what the hell, when did you get there ?”
“I have become so still, that I become invisible to the eye. Now if you excuse me, I must eat this xarnuts before Mantis finds out.”
He left the couple after that.
“We could totally see him.”
“Just give it a moment and...”
“DRAX !” Mantis yelled.
The Rogues’ return went as expected. Which was nothing smooth and a lot of yelling and cursing.
For one, the 5 idiots (5 because Scott had returned long before them, and had cut all ties with the group at Hope’s advice, and Barnes had decided to stay in Wakanda, much to Rogers’ sadness) had not read any of the packets T’Challa gave them (shocker) meaning that all the changes they were supposed to know about came as a complete suprise. Like Rogers no longer being team leader, the compound being renovated by the UN and no longer having the suites it used to have (none of the New Avengers even lived at the compound), among other stuff.
And now as fate would have it, the five idiots, mostly Rogers and Romanoff, constantly chased Tony around. Probably thinking he could get things back to how they wanted because “they were his friends” and “he owned them from making them criminals”.
To make matters worst. Gamora and the Guardians had to leave as soon as they came back, after getting an urgent call from the Collector. Gamora And Nebula were pretty sure it was a trap, but the others disagreed, and since the man had an Infinity Stone, they had to go.
Tony much rather would have suited up and joined them. But there was an issue on S.I that needed fixing, and Pepper really needed his help. He wasn’t gonna say no to Pepper, so he stayed. Which meant now he has to go threw the constant torture of seeing the Rogues without his girlfriend around.
It was specially annoying since Rogers had taken to literally chase him around the compound.
“Tony Hey !” Steve greeted, despite probably knowing Tony knew he was there. “Listen I was wondering if we could talk...”
“Sorry Rogers.” Tony made sure he was not happy at all. “I don’t have time, have a meeting with Coulson in five.”
“Come on Tony. We haven’t been able to spend time together like we used to.”
“We never spent time together Rogers. Not unless it was you watching me. Now if you excuse me, both Coulson and I are busy men, and we have a lot to do.”
“Haven’t you avoided us enough Tony ?” Steve asks. “It’s not fair to do this to your team, to your family.”
Family ? Yeah right. Tony knows what’s a team that is a family, and the Rouges is certainly not that.
“You are not my team or family Rogers, like I’ve told you countless of times.”
Rogers went to argue, but at last, someone showed up to Tony’s rescue, in the shape of Daisy Johnson.
“Sorry to interrupt.” Again, like Tony, she didn’t sound sorry at all. Daisy, like all of Mew SHIELD, didn’t hide her resentment towards Rogers and Romanoff. “But Coulson is waiting for us.”
“Well let’s get going, lead the way Agent Johnson.” He said, leaving with her. Rogers stayed behind glaring at his back. “Thanks for that by the way.”
“No problem. Ruining his day makes my day after all, and unlike him you are my friend, so it’s obvious someone had to step in. Besides, I’m worried what your space girlfriend would do to me if she figured out I didn’t help,you.l
“I’d be worried what your space girlfriend would do to me if I was partly responsable for something happening to you. We should start a club, Partners of Over Protective Space Girlfriends.”
“P.O.P.S.G ?”
“Yep.”
Daisy looked at him and then laughed.
“No offense Tony. Naming things is not your forte.”
“You wound me Daisy, I felt You quaked my heart....We are still making the club right ?’
“Absolutely.”
“What the fuck is this !” Barton yelled on the current team meeting. “Why haven’t we gotten our new equipment !”
Tony sighted, it was the third rant the man had given on this meeting, and pretty much everyone aside from the Rouges was done with it.
"Like we said Mr. Barton." Carol said, trying her best to be calm. "You just submitted your request, and it takes days for the Accords panel to deliver. Others submitted requests before you, and therefore, they are getting their deliveries first."
"Yeah, because that dickhead decided to throw a fit and refuses to do the only thing he is good at." Barton spatted at Tony, who really did not care.
The Rouges had expected for Tony to continue to give them all the money, and to work on all their equipment. However, Tony had promised....a lot of people, that he would not even entertain the thought. No more free money, nor fancy tech for them. To make matters worst for the Rouges, the SHIELD scientists, FitzSimmons, had refused to work for them as well, same with Shuri who they tried to get to work for them on Wakanda. With all options out, the Accords council (who had also expected that Tony would just give the Rouges what they wanted) scrambled some technicians to work for the Rouges.
The group was certainly taken an exemption about not being treated as princesses.
"Mr. Stark is free to work for whoever he wants to." Vision said, sitting as far from Wanda as he could. "You don't have a contract with him, so any work he might do, should be his choice."
He heard Romanoff start to speak, but Tony's phone vibrated, which took his attention.
When he saw who it was, it certainly took all his attention.
*G: We are finally finished here, coming back in a couple of days.*
*T: Was it a trap ?*
*G: Of course it was. The Collector wanted to make us exhibitions. We were only able to escape because Rocket hijacked an elevator and turned off the gravity to escape.*
*T: An.....Elevator ?*
*G: I will tell you when we return.*
*Sounds good, so how did Darcy do ?*
Jane is still mad that Tony had the great idea to introduce Peter Quill and Darcy Lewis, who immediately hit it off. Though to be fair to Darcy, if Jane can have a hot space boyfriend, so can she.
*G: The new taser Rocket and you made her were surprisingly.....useful. Though she and Peter could be quieter on bed. I am supposed to be sleeping, and well, too much noice.*
T: Sorry...... they do make a cute couple.*
*G: How are things even there ?*
*T: As expected. The idiots are being idiots.*
*G: Have they tried talking or getting in your space.*
*T: Sadly yes.*
*G: Well maybe I can take care of that soon. That and help you with that stress you have.*
*T: :) *
Tony ended the conversation, as he could hear more yelling from the room, telling Gamora he would call her soon.
"Until Mr. Rogers stops giving orders on training, and you people stop following them. You will not be cleared for field work." Rhodey said.
"Steve should still be the leader !" Wanda yelled. "We only follow him !"
"Continue like that and you will break the conditions of your pardon." Carol responded. "It was as clear as day on your packets. Rogers will not lead the team, nor is he allowed to. If he wanted to continue leading, he should not have become a fugitive. Your leaders are Colonel Rhodes and myself, and until you actually listen to us, there will be no field work for you."
Tony has yet to be present for a training session with the Rouges, but he has heard the stories. How despite being told he is not in charge, Rogers tries to take command, and his pack follows him, causing chaos on the simulations.
Until that issue is over, neither Rhodey, Carol, or the council is allowing them on missions.
"Does anyone have legitimate questions that have not been addressed before." Rhodey asks. When no one speaks, he nods. "Then this meeting is finished."
Tony immediately steps up and walks towards the door, when he hears Rogers call him.
"Tony, Tony wait !"
Tony sights and turns to the man, Natasha with him.
"What is it Rogers ?"
"I just want to talk to you. We haven't really gotten the chance to do so."
"I am very busy. You were made aware of my new position."
"Ambassador of Earth." Romanoff said. "Must be a lot of work."
"Sure it is."
"Look Tony, don't you think that is taking away part of your time as an Avenger." Steve said, crossing his arm. "It seems like you are not focusing on being on the team."
"I have done all of my duties as an Avenger perfectly well. Ask Rhodey and Carol."
"You have been avoiding us."
"I was unaware that spending time together was an obligation of the Avenger."
"Tony." Steve said with his typical Captain America is disappointed voice. "We are trying to put an effort to fix things, but you need to work with us, meet us halfway."
"Well then, congratulations Rogers, you must be a better man than me. Something you have always thought. But as it stands, I am happy with the status quote. We meet for meetings, we will eventually meet for training, and maybe for missions, and after that we will go on our separate ways. You stay with yours, and I stay with mine."
"And who are those people Tony ?" Natasha asked. "You can't only rely on Rhodes and Potts. Are you even still speaking with Pepper, after your break up ? You need to come back to your family."
"Like you are the one to talk about family Romanoff. As far as I know, Yelena still refuses to even speak to you."
He noted with some happiness how that comment made Romanoff flinch.
Tony was about to speak, but his phone started ringing.
"Well, this was fun, but this is a person I have to answer to."
""Wait, Tony, we still need to talk. Whoever is on the phone can wait."
"Sorry Rogers, this person is far more important than any of you."
"And who is that ?" Natasha demanded.
"My girlfriend." He said simply, leaving the stunned Rouges behind.
Tony did not notice the broken look Rogers had, but FRIDAY certainly did.
Tony was awoken from his slumber when he felt his bed move.
"What the..."
"Its me." Gamora said gently. "We just came back."
"Oh hey, FRIDAY did not tell me about.."
"I asked her not to. Didn't want you out of bed." She layed besides him. "The others are well but exhausted."
"I can imagine." He said, holding her close. "By the by, I might have slipped the news on the Rouges."
"You told them about us ?"
"Not exacly. I told them I was seeing someone. I did not say who. Hope you don't mind."
"We are not keeping this a secret, and besides, it is bound to come out. If they keep harassing you, I do have to get involved."
"Oh boy, just keep it as bloodless as you can."
"I will try. No promises though."
"You need to work with us Tony." Steve said. "We need to move past this !"
Tony groaned as the man once again began. He can't even get a sandwich in peace.
Rogers and his team had been trying to get Tony to house them on the tower again. They said they didn’t feel comfortable in the compound anymore, and that Tony welcoming to the tower would be a good step for “earning their forgiveness.”
Like that’s gonna happen. First of all, their agreements clearly state they have to remain at the compound. Second, no way he is gonna allow them on his space again. Third, their rooms were taken by the Guardians.
“Haven’t you still read your agreements ?” He said incrediously. “On the agreements it clearly states that you lot must remain at the compound from 9 PM to 7 AM, unless you are in a mission or require medical attention that can’t be given at the compound.”
“We know you could change that rule if you wanted.” Natasha said.
“True. I could do that. I did help Scott out with his house arrest.” Difference of course is that he likes Scott, and he agreed on what the man wanted to do. “That said, the answer is still no.”
“Fuck you Stark !” Barton yelled. “You could at least let us in your tower to make up for kicking me out of my house. But you are petty as always.”
“Cry me a River Barton. Besides, your rooms are no longer there. I gave all of them, baring Thor’s and Bruce’s, to someone else.”
“ oh yeah, everyone knows you don’t have friends besides Rhodes and Potts. Who the hell would like to live with you.”
“He’s talking about us dickhead,” the voice of Peter Quill filled the room.
The Guardians all came from the other door. Glaring at the Rouges as they came in.
Gamora with her inhuman reflexes quickly was on his side and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“You are Barton right. The archer that never shuts up. Yeah we talked to your ex wife. Lovely lady, no wonder she left your ass.” Peter continued. “I think Drax got your room, he had fun destroying your bows.”
“Hahaha, it was quite fun indeed !”
Barton was glaring at Peter. While the rest of the Rouges were perplexed at seeing them.
“Who the hell are you people ?” Wilson asked.
“We are the Guardians of the Galaxy.” Peter said. “We are Tony’s actual friends.”
“We are Tony’s friends.” Steve said. “We are his family.”
“Yeah right, and I’m Kevin Bacon dude.”
“Why are this people saying that Tony owns them ?” Mantis asked.
“Because they are stupid.” Rocket finished, shocking the Rouges on seeing a talking raccoon. “They can’t accept they are to blame for their own failures so they use Tony as an excuse.”
“I am Groot.”
“That’s right Groot. They are so delusional that it hurts !” Rocket laughed.
“I thought the Black Order was bad.” Nebula commented.
“At least they had common sense.” Gamora said.
The Guardians kept laughing an Tony felt comfortable with them. They might be from another planet sans Quill, but he feels at much ease with them than the Rouges.
“So you gave our room to some aliens !” Barton, man has no filter. “Are you that desperate Stark ?”
“Is it desperation when we are miles better than you lot ?” Rocket countered.
Seeing Barton getting shut up by Rocket, was something Tony wishes FRIDAY recorded.
“I am Groot !”
“That’s right !” Mantis said. “Gamora doesn’t occupy one of the rooms anymore. Not ever since she began sleeping with Tony !”
All eyes turned to them after Mantis revealed that little fact.
“I think you should have kept that part.” Drax whispered to her.
“Oh,”
“It’s fine.” Gamora said. “We weren’t gonna hide it.”
“No we weren’t.” Tony agreed, kissing her cheek.
The look the Rogues gave at that, was even better.
“I’m so looking forward to this.” Daisy said exited.
“You got that right.” Yelena said.
Tony looked at both ladies and couldn’t help but agree.
He was standing with Nebula, Yelena, and Daisy, watching as Gamora and Romanoff circled each other on the training mat. The spy had not had the best record, with both Daisy and Yelena wiping her ass.
The spy had no clue that Gamora had in fact trained them both.
“How long do you think it will last ?” Yelena asked.
“I give it three minutes tops.” Daisy said.
“Two.” Nebula countered. “With all Romanoff has done, Gamora wont go easy on her.”
Tony was about to say his peace, when as always Rogers came in.
“Hey Tony.” The man said. Clearly ignoring the glares the three women sent at him. “I was wondering if you wanted to go out after training, maybe go out for lunch and catch up ?”
“Sorry but not sorry Rogers. I got plans on the afternoon.” Tony said.
“Oh, do those plans include the one about to beat up Natalia.” Yelena jokes.
“Dam right they do. We are going to that new bruger down on town. I don’t know why but Gamora has a taste for bacon.”
“Oh Carol and I went there two days ago.” Daisy said. “They have couple discount.”
“Oh !”
“Blaw, you people with your relationships.” Yelena said. “I’m happy single thanks.”
“Ph really. Cause I heard Peter complain how certain spy has been getting to close to Mantis lately. Saying someone was trying to take his sister without permission.”
“Want to explain that Yelena ?” Daisy asked.
“.......I have no comment on the issue. Except that Mantis, is cute.”
“Hahaha I knew it.” Tony And Daisy laughed.
Tony doesn’t know what is it with the Guardians making Earth people fall for them. But they have that charm.
“Tony.” Rogers calles. Tony had completely forgotten he was there. “Can we...”
“That’s it !” Carol calles off the training session.
As expected. Romanoff was on the floor, most likely knocked out, while Gamora looked like she had just stretched.
“How fast did she...”
“It took 1 minute and 14 seconds.” Nebula said. “And I was wrong, she did toy around with her,”
Gamora got off the Matt as Wilson and Barton came for Romanoff. Both man clearly unearved by someone taking down the Black Widow like she was nothing.
“Satisfied.” He asked his girlfriend as she came to his side.
“Very.” She said leaning on his shoulder. “So we are going soon ?”
“Yep. Just a few sessions left.”
From the look of his eye, Tony could see Rogers stare at them with....with a look he doesn’t have idea what means.
“Allright.” Carol called. “Barton, you go against Nebula left.”
Oh hoho, Tony was really gonna enjoy this one. Specially with the smirk Nebula just gave.
Things with the Rouges got even weirder. For some reason, the group was even more insistent on cornering him, and trying to get him to “hang out with them.” As if he would do that.
It was very annoying though. So much that when Thor called, saying he needed assistance, Tony didn’t doubted for a second before joining the Guardians to help. After all, unlike the Rouges, Thor is his friend.
Though typically, he was in for a shocker.
They found Thor on a ship full of Asgardian refuges. Odín had died, Asgard had been destroyed by a sister Thor didn’t know about, and now they were going to Earth.
Second, Bruce was there ! Turns out he had been trapped in space as a gladiator. He found him with a woman they called Valkyrie. She seemed dangerous, and Tony was sure his life was gonna get yet another woman that terrified him. Seeing how close she and Bruce were there.
Third, turns out, Loki is not dead after all ! The man stood besides Thor. The brothers having let go of their issues and now were close again.
Thor said that he had uncovered evidence that Loki had been mind controlled by Thanos during the invasion. That he had little will, and the few he had he used it to sabotage the invasion.
“He’s right.” Gamora said. “Nebula and I saw it. Thanos made him his pawn.”
Tony of course believed it. Didn’t make it any easier when they arrived back on Earth. People were shocked to see Loki.
The Rogues specially took offense at seeing that. They were claiming that Loki should be immediately locked up because he is a criminal. In fact, the only reason they didn’t attack him, was the threats Thor made of a painful retribution if anyone touched his brother.
Rogers tried to tell Tony that they had to do something, that Loki couldn’t be allowed to go free.
Tony took a page from their book, ignored everything they said, and helped Loki get a full pardon. With a much better deal than what the Rouges got.
Their shock and outrage meant nothing to him. And he was very pleased with that.
Barton later tried to “talk to him” with clear violent intentions, calling him a traitor.
Nebula had no issue on beating up the man again, which was again, very fun to watch.”
“What’s wrong with him ?” Peter asked concerned.
Tony was sitting on the couch, holding a wet towel on his face.
“He’s been having headaches all night.” Gamora said, sitting by his side, placing a bag of ice at his side.
“He’s been having them all day,” Rhodey said concerned, “nothing happened in the labs, right Tones ?”
“Nothing.”
Vision kept looking at Tony with a....an almost angry expresión. One that wasn’t directed at Tony, but what was happening.
“Vis. What’s wrong ?” Rhodey asked.
“There is....something weird on Tony’s head. I can’t say it exactly but....I believe we should contact Doctor Strange.”
Tony tensed at hearing that. If Vision thought Stephen should get involved, then....
Lucky for them Stephen was awake, having been on Nepal recently he was with their time zone.
“Hm. Yes, it is as I feared.”
“What is it, what’s wrong with him ?” Nebula asks.
“Maximoff has been attempting to get in Tony’s head.” Stephen said seriously.
Tony flinched at hearing that, hearing that the witch was trying to get to him again.
Gamora held him tightly in response. Her face showing intentions of a very bloody murder.
“The good news is, the binders I placed worked, and she had been unable to get inside his head. The concerning thing is, for Tony to actually feel pain, Maximoff has been trying to get inside for quite some time.”
“You saying this is not just from today.”
“Correct. She could have been trying for days, but we only noticed because the strain on the binders made Tony feel pain.”
No one spoke for a while.
“Rhodes.” Gamora said. “In their contracts, it said that any attempt to attack someone would lead to their pardon being revoked.”
“Correct. Things like Barton’s fits aren’t enough, but something as serious as this....she has breached her contract.”
“With how much magic she used, her intentions were not good. She was fully intending to harm him, seriously in fact.”
“Can you do a report that shows absolute truth that this happened.” When Stephen nodded, Rhodey respondes. “Good, that witch is done. Those idiots have still not read their contracts, it’s about time they know consequences are a very real thing. We will take care of her Tones, you just rest. She will be gone soon.”
Tony nodded at that, leaning into Gamora as she comforted him. “Peter, we might need to wake up Mantis. See if she can ease him.”
“I’ll go wake her up.”
“That is not recommended Mr. Quill. I’ll do it for you.” Friday said.
“What ? Why ?”
“Because Ms. Belova entered your sister’s quarters at night....and she has not left.”
If was as if destiny wanted to lighten things up, as watching Peter’s face go red was impossible not to laugh.
“SHE IS WHAT !”
The panel neeeded little convincing after Stephen presented their evidence.
With neither S.I or SHIELD willing to pay for the Rouges. The panel was having to pay for them themselves. This of course didn’t make them happy. Specially after the Rouges we’re finally sent on the field, and caused a lot of damage.
Even the ones that had been for the pardons, were no longer im favor of them.
So when the news hit, the council acted without mercy.
Wanda Maximoff had lost her pardon, and she was to be arrested, stripped of her powers, and returned to Sokovia to face the consequences of her actions.
Stephen said he knows someone that is familiar with Wanda’s powers. And she would be able to take them away with no problem.
Both the Guardians and the New Avengers were pissed off when they heard what happened. The Guardians were already planning to murder Maximoff, with Jessica, Daisy and Yelena, who had their experiences with mind control, joining them. Bruce had Hulked out and hasn’t been able to calm down. He’s still in the Hulk room with Valkyrie, who Thor said would help Bruce and Hulk with their rage.
Naturally, none of the mentioned people were gonna participate on Maximoff’s arrest. The pannel needed it to be profesional. Despite being the leader, Rhodey knew he was to personally involved and handled the task to Carol. She and Stephen went with Avengers that weren’t as personal to the issue.
Tony didn’t go to the compound the day of the arrest. He instead had FRIDAY show him the footage.
“You can’t do this !” Steve cried as Strange held Maximoff on chains. He tried to get to Stephen, but Carol held him on place. Her strength surpassing him by far.
Danny And Luke were also there, holding the other Rouges in place.
“You find that we can.” Stephen said. “You were all warned that if any of you attempted to attack someone in the team, you would face consequences and loose your pardons.”
“As it stands, there is more than enough evidence to prove that Maximoff attacked Tony with malicious intent, therefore she’s getting dropped.”
“I can’t control my powers !” Wanda yelled, crying. “I can only control my own fear.”
“Yeah cry me a River.” Stephen said unmoved. “You claimed some days ago you had perfect control and now you don’t. Pathetic.”
“She’s just a kid !” Rogers yelled. “She doesn’t deserve this !”
“A 26 year old woman is a kid ?” Carol said. “Pft. No wonder this team fell apart when you lead it Rogers. She just attacked someone and here you go defending the abuser. It seems that’s a pattern.”
Rogers turned red at that statement.
“Yeah right.” Barton yelled. “Like we believe you fuckers, you welcomed Loki back ! If any one is messed up it’s you !”
Tony then watched as the doors were opened, and one Phil Coulson stepped in.
“You were already informed that Loki was under Thanos’ control when he attacked Barton.” Phil said seriously. “If I, the one he killed, can accept that, then you can as well. Unless you are being irrational and biased, which is not surprising.”
Barton for once didn’t speak, his former mentor shutting him up. Coulson then turned to Maximoff.
“Wanda Maximoff, you have breached your contract with the Accords Council by attempting to attack a fellow Avenger with malicious intent. As such, your pardon has been revoked. You will be taken by Doctor Strange, were he will stripped you from your powers, and then you’ll be deported to Sokovia to face trial for your actions.”
“It’s not fair !” Wanda yelled, trying to get free. “The attack didn’t even work !”
“So you admit that you did attack Tony.”
Wanda stopped talking, realizing what she just did.
“That’s all I need. Take her away.”
“NOOOOOO !” Wanda yelled as Stephen dragged her away. “STEVE HELP !”
“You can’t do this !” Rogers yelled. “Let’s talk about this, she doesn’t deserve this !”
“She just admitted she attacked Tony and you still defend her ?” Carol said. “You really are a hypocrite Rogers.”
“There is no talking to be done.” Phil said, turning to the group. “You well all warned what would happen. You all had a second chance and she blew it. I hope this serves as a lesson for the rest of you. Hopefully you will finally read your contracts. If any of you attempt to free her, or attack someone in retaliation, you will share her fate.”
The confrontation ended pretty much there. Coulson and the New Avengers left, and Rogers started Vowing he would get Wanda back.
Tony is sure he means he’s gonna corner Tony and try to get him to do it.
He’s not looking forward to him.
2 days later, Stephen’s contact, Agatha Harkness, successfully removed Wanda’s powers. She was now on route to Sokovia to face trial.
With all her crimes. There is a like hood that she might end executed.
Tony felt nothing at the thought. Wanda had made her bed, and now she had to lie on it.
Rogers as expected, tried to corner him, to get him to bring her back.
“It’s not fair Tony.” Steve cried, cornering the genius on the hall. “She’s just a kid, she doesn’t deserve it.”
Tony just stared at Rogers. He didn’t like being cornered by the man, specially alone, but he wasn’t gonna show fear.
FRIDAY already informed him she was watching and ready to intervine, and Gamora, who was sparing with Yelena, was on her way.
“For the last time Rogers. She’s not a kid. She’s a grown ass woman that can’t accept responsibility for her actions and finally learned the had way that, no matter how powerful she is, she can not get away with anything she wants.”
“She’s young.” Rogers said, ignoring all Tony said. “She deserves another chance. She’s still Learning to forgive !”
“Forgive, forgive what ? I’ve done anything to her.”
“Tony you know that’s not true,” Rogers says like his talking to a child, giving him great wisdom.
“No, it is true. The bomb, that had nothing to do with me. Even if it had been a real S.I bomb, I didn’t fire it. Ultron, That was monster of her own making, and don’t you dare say anything.” Tony interrupted Rogers when he was clearly wanted to speak. “Thor and Vision already explained what happened and there is footage. And for keeping her inside the compound, that was me trying to help her against my judgement. So no, there is nothing to forgive Rogers. That woman is crazy, and her hatred for me finally was her downfall. Besides, her powers have already been stripped and according to Stephen, there is no reversing that.”
Rogers looked at him for a while, with a look Tony could not get what it meant.
“We just want things to go back to normal Tony.” Steve said, like that had been what they had been talking about. “Things were very good back then. We were happy !”
“I wasn’t. I wasn’t happy Rogers. Not with you lot treating me as a banker and as your personal inventor.”
“Tony you know that wasn’t true.”
“Tell me at least once when you, Romanoff, or Barton even thanked me for your gear...”
“...”
“Thought so.”
“It’s all the Accords’ Fault Tony !” Steve said, again changing the topic because he didn’t know how to answer. “They twisted everything. They have turned you against your team, your family !”
“You were never my family Rogers.”
“Yes we are Tony. We care about you, unlike those Guardians.”
“Excuse me.”
“Nat did some digging. She found the truth of Gamora and Nebula. They are Thanos’ daughters Tony ! They are tricking you !”
At hearing that, Tony went red with rage.
“Fuck you Rogers, fuck You !”
“Tony ?” Steve said confused.
“First if all, that digging Romanoff made, That’s information everyone knows ! Second of all. You are a fucking hypoctrate. If you know about that, you know what Thanos did to them. He killed their families, slaughtered their planets, right in front of them ! Then they were tortured and manipulated to obey him. They were forced, maybe not mind controlled like Barnes, but they had as little choice as he did with Hydra. But of course, you ignore that because it’s not convenient to you. Now you better NEVER, say shit like that again, or I’ll make your life here a living hell.”
Rogers stumbles a bit at Tony but quickly composed herself.
“I just don’t think she’s good for you Tony.” Steve said. “I care about you, and I don’t think dating her is a good idea.”
“What the hell ? It’s my life, why you suddenly...”
Tony was unable to react as Rogers suddenly grabbed him and kissed him.
Steve fucking Rogers has feelings for him....oh Tony is gonna throw up.
Tony quickly armed himself with the gauntlet, and punched Steve on the face, sending him to the floor.
“WHAT THE FUCK ROGERS !” Tony said to the man on the floor. “HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF CONSENT ! Fuck I’m gonna throw up.”
“You felt it didn’t it ! There is a spark, there is something between us ! Tony I...”
“There is NOTHING, between us Steve. I don’t like you, I certainly don’t see you like that. I have a girlfriend, that’s who I love. Not you !”
“Tony please... you have to see.”
“And even if she wasn’t on the picture. Do you think I’ll love you after all you did ? After lying to me for years, using my money and resources to find the weapon that killed my parents. After you left me to die after beating me up when I got angry at your lies. When you insist of defending the woman that clearly stated she wants to attack me. After that and much more, do you think I’ll even consider going out with you.”
Rogers for once had no answer.
“You are a grown man Rogers, so get this on your head. No. The answer to all of this, is no. There is nothing and will never be something between us. Get any ideas of that out of your head. And there is nothing you can do to convince me.”
“Tony please...”
“Please nothing. It’s my life Rogers, and I will no longer allow you and any of your lot any say on it !”
Tony was done with this talk. But Rogers wasn’t.
“I won’t give up Tony, I will make you see this. You belong with us, you belong with me !”
Rogers went to get close, probably wanting another shot.
But a lovely green hand held the man’s wrist.
“Hands of my boyfriend.” Gamora said, before kicking Rogers right on his super soldier nuts.
The man fell to the floor in pain.
“You need some rescuing ?” She asked him.
“Sure, lead me away !”
Tony left with Gamora, ignoring Rogers’ cries for him to stop.
“I need to wash my mouth.” Tony gagged. “I can’t believe he did that !”
“I’m not too surprised. There were clues. I just thought there was some common sense in him to know you don’t want any of that.”
“Rogers and common sense don’t mix.”
“Hmmm.” Gamora stood in front of him, and kissed him. “Better ?”
“Much better. Thanks.....but I might need to get more to clean Rogers off.”
Gamora smirked and dragged him to a nearby closet.
Tony certainly felt clean after that.
The next months were interesting.
Rogers kept trying to get close to him. Trying to “show him their connection”
He was shut off at all avenues. Gamora had no problem on making sure he knew he was taken.
But then, it happened.
Thanos arrived.
The coalition of Avengers, Guardians, and other allies joined up in Wakanda, and fought the Mad Titan as he sought the Stones.
The fight was very hard, and it was certainly grim at times.
Then Thanos tried to kidnapped Gamora.
Tony knew that was possible. She knew where the Soul Stone is.
But in that moment, seeing her legitimately afraid, Tony saw red.
He attacked with a fury, unleashing attacks with power he never used before.
Thor and Hulk soon jumped in and joined Tony on his assault. Together, the trio managed to corner the Titan.
Carol, Stephen, and the rest off Guardians took down the Black Order behind them. Yelena and Daisy made an awesome team up to take down the final member of the group.
Thanos tried to use the stones against them, but Gamora, joined with Nebula, returned with vengeance. Both sisters swinged their blades to cut Thanos’s hand, not allowing him to use the gauntlet.
Using the momentum, Tony asked Hulk to grab Thanos’ back, while he used his nano suit to stab Thanos’s chest.
I’m Anger, the Titan grabbed a blade and striked Tony’s shoulder, piercing his body.
Tony yelled in pain, but he could not stop.
“Now Thor !” Tony yelled.
“It’s over Thanos ! Your reign of terror ends now !” Thor yelled, super charging storm breaker and chopping Thanos’s Head, finally killing the Titan.
Tony watched as the monster of his nightmares finally died.
It was the last he saw before he collapsed on the floor.
“Ugh.” Tony groaned as he woke up.
He opened his eyes to find out that he was on a hospital.
“You are awake.”
Tony turned to his left, to find Gamora sitting there.
“Hey. How long was I out ?”
“Two days. It was a nasty wound, but Bruce, Rocket, And Shuri managed to heal you.”
“So....it’s over now ?”
“Yes...he’s gone.”
“Good. Good.” Tony said, feeling at peace.
“Tony...I....I was crazy with worry when I saw what happened. You could have died.”
“I’m sorry...I didn’t want you to fear like this.”
“Seeing you like this, does make me realize something.”
“What is it ?”
“You, Anthony Edward Stark, are the man of my life. I can’t let you go, so...” she handled him a ring. “I want to make us permanent.”
“Are You...asking me to marry you ?”
She nodded at him. “My mother gave me this ring before she died. It was to be given to someone I love, and now I found that someone.”
Tony had to take a bit to figure what to say.
“So are we gonna do a human wedding, or one of your wedding ceremonies ?”
Tony spent the next days recovering.
Both teams him visited him. Saying that they were relived he is ok, and congratulate him on his engagement.
He heard that Rogers has been trying to get into his room but the last thing Tony wants on this time of happiness is for the man to get close to him. He later heard Rogers was arrested, but he didn’t know why at the moment.
As soon as Tony was ready to return to the lab, the first thing he did was build Gamora a ring. One equally as special as the one she gave him.
Eventually the world started to move.
Tony, Bruce, Rocket, And Shuri removed the Mind Stone from Vision, so that he wouldn’t be targeted again. After that, Thor, Loki, Carol, and the Guardians split up to split the Space, Reality, Power, and Mind Stones to different parts of space, making sure they were safe, and far apart. That left the Time Stone as the only stone on Earth, remaining under the Sorcerers’ protection.
The Soul Stone remained lost, and that’s how it was gonna be. Gamora told him the price one had to pay, and he shivered thinking what Thanos would have done if he had taken her. It’s best for the stone to remain where it is.
After that life continued on.
New Asgard was built on Earth, with Thor pleading to lead his people well. Coulson retired from SHIELD, leaving Agent Mackenzie as the new Director. He and May began an academy for potential Avengers and SHIELD agente. Rhodey and Carol kept leading the Avengers, getting new members and expanding the team.
Bruce finally opened his heart to a new relationship and began dating Valkyrie. Yelena and Mantis didn’t hide their thing any longer, much to Peter’s shock. Now P.O.P.S.G had new members than him and Daisy, who continued to date Carol. Thor and Peter followed Tony’s book and decided to get married to their woman. Both were horrified when Jane and Darcy suggested a double wedding.
Life continued on and everyone continued living, they had fought for that. To be able to live.
As for the Rouges....well their team had disbanded and were finally out of his way.
Wanda was found guilty and executed shortly after Thanos’ death. People celebrated her death.
Barton went on a drunk fit after Laura divorced him. He attacked a man on a bar, and striked a waitress. The man’s rage ended up being his end, after he got in a fight with the waitress’ boyfriend, who had super strength. Barton was beaten to death, his anger fully consuming him and bringing his end.
Sam had left the team after his conditional period ended. He had been injured during the fight when he took a blow from Rhodey, and despite Wakanda’s help, it was recommended he dropped the Falcon suit. He had regained his passion for council work after helping many people go threw their trauma from the fight. Sam realizes this is what he wanted to do, and became a councilor for the Accords Panel. He is also the only member of the Rouges Tony made up with, and now considers a friend.
Natasha was eventually handled to the SHIELD Academy. As Coulson was one of the few could keep her in check, she was to become an instructor on the academy. She wasn’t an agent nor would she be going to the field ever again. She was been constantly watched, and it she ever messed up again, it would be over for her. She had no allies nor where to hide. Natasha has been properly humbled.
As for Steve...
Well during the fight, the man tried to once again do his own thing and broke formation. His need to be a hero led to an explosion that killed 13 people. Among them, was Bucky Barnes, who died trying to stop Rogers from doing something stupid. It was karmic irony, but also sad. Barnes had always cleaned Rogers’ messes, and it eventually resulted on his demise. At least he was at peace now.
Rogers was certainly not an easy prisoner, as so, Tony had to create an anti serum that would take his strength, but leave him healthy. The creation of the anti serum was like closure for Tony, he could finally put this chapter behind him. When the anti serum was done, he felt no need to be there, and allowed Bruce to take over. Rogers tried to get in contact with Tony, but he ignored him. Tony was done with Steve Rogers.
Tony And Gamora got married on New Asgard, and the ceremony was attended by pretty much everyone.
It was a truly happy event, the best on Tony’s life.
As he held his now wife close, Tony remembered his promise to Yinsen.
He is now finally living his life to the fullest, and just like the man that changed his life said, this made Tony truly happy.
