Problem was she probably wouldn’t die!

“Hannah Sharpe?” a man’s voice said as the door opened, and a young man appeared in the doorway sporting a Navy t-shirt. Hannah slowly started to stand and get her crutches level. She didn’t move she looked down over at Ava who still trying to disappear. She smiled and hit Ava’s shoe with her crutch scaring the shit out Ava who was deep in thoughts of embarrassment and despair. She jumped up to her feet and just gave Hannah a death stare as she straightened out her uniform and Hannah laughed as she started to crutch towards the open door.

Once they were though the door there was a lot going on people grunting in pain or laughing at a joke. Some held their phones and watched videos while they waited for the next thing to do. It was a very busy room it was a lot louder than Hannah and Ava both thought. Hannah was thinking what kind of glass it was separating the room from the waiting area. Because she couldn’t hear any of this noise at all. Ava found herself keeping her head down to avoid any eye contact with anyone possible in the room especially a particular blonde who she was sure saw her staring at her. The man who had opened the door had managed to get in front of them by now and was leading them towards a room with a table and chair. Right before he made it to the door the small blonde managed to beat him into the room as Hannah continued in a small smile creeping up on her face. “Right here ma’am.” The young man pointed towards the chair in front of the table. Now taking a seat on the other side of the table was the small blonde who Ava had been staring at. Hannah crossed the threshold smiling at what she knew was going to be the best day.

Ava Had kept her head down looking at Hannah’s feet the whole way through the room and when she noticed the doorway she looked up and saw Hannah moving towards a chair in the room and when Hannah started to sit down, The small Blonde came into Ava’s view across the table from her sister. Her eyes went wide, and she just stared at her sister not knowing what to do. GAY PANIC WTF HOW DID I NOT SEE HER? A million things were racing through her mind at this point and the small blonde had her head down in a file probably Hannah’s file her mind thought. She kept looking at Hannah who could feel her eyes because she turned her head ever so slightly and caught Ava’s Panic and actually smirked which just set Ava’s mind off in a whole other direction of knowing what that meant. Hannah knew she had caught her staring and Hannah loved to embarrass her sister. Hannah Winked as she turned her attention to the small woman.

“So, Lieutenant Hannah Sharpe, looks like a broken ankle and some torn ligaments.” She closes the file and looks up at Hannah with smiles. She quickly looks up and see’s Ava standing in the doorway wild-eyed still deep in her panic, “Your wife can come in if she wants.” She states. Which causes a huge laugh to come out of Hannah as she turns towards Ava who had just registered what was said and if she wasn’t already wishing she was dead now would be the time for death this moment. Hannah couldn’t control her laughter as she tried to get words out.

“Oh, that is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.” She couldn’t stop her laughing as it became a giggle. Ava who is still standing in the doorway had now turned her shocked face towards Hannah who was literally laughing at her trying to formulate a plan she tried to speak.

“I’m not…were not...” why weren’t the words coming out of Ava’s mouth. She tried to compose herself as Hannah continued to giggle and Ava just quietly said “Gidget.” As if to tell her to stop, at the Hannah looked right at Ava. And she knew in that moment the threat from earlier she had all but knew Hannah was about to say something that was going to embarrass her as if it was possible for that to even happen as Ava was already at a breaking point. She could see in Hannah’s eyes this was not good. She needed to find her voice and she needed to find it now. Get your shit together Major What the hell is wrong with you? Her thoughts were flying threw her brain so fast she didn’t know what to do or say but this woman had somehow shaken her to her core, and she didn’t even know her name. Hannah turned back still giggling and started to speak.

“This is Major…” and before Hannah could finish the sentence Ava took two steps forward know the word douche was on Hannah’s tongue and she was determined to make sure it didn’t come out.

“Ava…. Ava Sharpe.” She held out her hand towards the woman and snapped and look towards Hannah and with every ounce of her being she begged and pleaded with her eyes in that moment. Please not here now and not in front of this beautiful creature. She looked back to the woman who had leaned forward and taken her hand and released it. “I…. I am her sister.” She managed to say somehow the words just kind of fell out of her mouth. She stood up and took a step back next to Hannah.

“And I’m Captain Sara Lance.” The woman stated and sat back in her chair. “I’m truly sorry I presumed that the two of you were married.” I meant no offense.” She looked them both over they didn’t look like sisters, and it was probably wrong of her to assume anything without asking first. “You don’t really look alike.” Causing Hannah to snort, she didn’t know Sara at all, but she loved her already.

“Oh well Ava here likes to say were each a carbon copy of one parent.” As she pulled out her phone and opened her pictures and found one the last pictures of the family together.
In the picture was an older red headed man who Hannah was almost the spiting image of. Brown Eyes, Red Hair he was Ava’s height but there was no mistaking Hannah was his daughter. Next to him Stood Hannah but in her uniform, she has just gotten back from her second deployment, so she had her travel gear with her on her back. Next to her was an older blonde woman whose hair was flowing over one shoulder she was wearing a floral dress and had a bright smile she stood the same height as the father and Ava. And then there was Ava not in uniform but with her hair down too draped almost the same way as her mothers. A smile of pride that her sister was home safe in torn jeans and a marine corps shirt. A carbon copy of her mother in looks height and glorious hair. But you’d never guess as Ava’s hair was currently up in a bun because she was in uniform. Ava glanced down at the photo and thought to herself. Is she about too…fuck! Hannah I’m gonna kill you when we get home. May not even make it home I may kill you in the parking lot! As her eyes followed Hannah’s phone in her hands to show Sara the family picture.

Sara took the phone from Hannah and let out a gasp she hoped wasn’t too loud. The woman standing in front of her, whom she knew had been watching her from the waiting room couldn’t possibly be the woman in the picture. Her eyes darted quickly between the two. Hannah seemed to be the only one who noticed because Ava was too busy staring at Hannah with invisible death rays shooting at her from her eyes. “Your dad is adorable.” Sara said quickly and handed the phone back to Hannah.

“Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment considering I look just like him.” Hannah snorted and Ava rolled her eyes. “Our Mother is gorgeous she was a model.” Hannah winked.

“Yes, she is very beautiful, and I have to say she has amazing hair.” Sara commented and continued to smile. They were getting way off topic, but she liked to get to know her patients, so it wasn’t unusual really, she found Hannah Charming. But she wasn’t exactly sure about Ava who was for some reason staring at her sister as if she was willing her to shut up.

“Oh, so does…” Hannah was cut off by Ava before she could finish the statement.

“So, what’s the plan here?” she looked up over to Sara. She had finally found her brain and was ready to move forward. She didn’t want to talk about her mother that was a subject better left to itself and she didn’t feel like talking about her father. She wanted to move this along and honestly, she was still plotting Hannah’s murder at this point. Hannah just looked up at her a little annoyed that she had interrupted her fun chat with her new doctor. But when she saw Ava, she knew that it wasn’t Ava it was Major Sharpe now. She knew that face and that glare. Ava had gone into military mode; Hannah knew that mode when she would get irritated or something emotional would come up. So, she looked back to Sara with sorry eyes and a slight smile.

“Yes of course Hannah and I are going to work out a physical therapy plan with her ankle.” She motioned towards the door. “If you’d like to have a seat in the waiting room while I evaluate her, and we work out the next two weeks. Ill send her out when she is done.” Sara ended with a gentle smile and Ava nodded.

“I can do that. Thank You.” Ava looked at Hannah one more time and turned to leave. She didn’t realize how close she was to the doorframe because her eyes were still on Hannah, she took on step forward and half her body ran into the wall and the other half in the doorway. She stopped and leaned her head on the wall she took a deep breath and slowly quietly moved into the doorway and walked out. She didn’t look back to see that Hannah had her hand over her mouth with a half-shocked look on her face trying to not laugh. And Sara was just wide-eyed staring after her she walked away. And that’s all folks. She thought to herself as she walked into the waiting room and thought about jumping out of the third story window right then and there. Problem was she probably wouldn’t die, and she would just fucking end up here in physical therapy with Captain Sara Lance as her therapist.

After about 45 minutes Hannah emerged back into the waiting room to find only Ava sitting in a chair with her head leaned back staring at the ceiling. “You ready?” Hannah broke the silence and Ava tilted her head to make eye contact with Hannah. She nodded and got up from the chair to meet Hannah as she was walking towards the elevator. Nobody said a word they just silently got on the elevator and headed down to the car. Hannah was still slow, and Ava matched her pace as they walked still no words spoken, they got into the car and Ava just started it and took off. Ava could do nothing but think of what a shitty day she had. And Hannah was doing everything she could not to ask her the one question she wanted too. Until she finally broke the silence because she couldn’t take it any longer. “How did you not know you were that close to the wall?” she said trying so hard not to giggle.

Ava just tightened her hand on the wheel keeping her eyes forward “I hate you.” She wished more than anything she could rewind this whole day and start over. Jensen had already set her mood for the day, Sgt Maj still after 3 months of working together hadn’t actually said a word to her, and now she had made a complete fool of herself in front of who she believed might be the most beautiful woman she had ever seen.

“You know if it’s any consolation I don’t think all hope is lost. Well I didn’t until you went all Major Sharpe in there.” Hannah said looking forward.

“What the hell does that mean?” Ava was annoyed now. She just wanted to go home take a shower and disappear into her room until the end of time. She didn’t want to talk.

“I mean exactly that. It was adorable to watch you fumble over your words and look completely disheveled when you saw the picture, I showed her. I was just trying to help you.” Hannah kept her eyes forward.

“How exactly were you trying to help Hannah? You were laughing at me and then you showed her like a five-year-old picture of our family. And I know what you were going to say when you were about to introduce me.” Ava said with a slight angry voice.

“I told you not to call me that anymore and you still do, and I also told you what I would call you if you did in public.” Hannah was now looking at Ava to make sure she understood.

“You were fucking laughing at me I just slipped out it’s not like I introduced you as Gidget and I’ve been calling you that since you seven years old. You, calling me a douche is a new development. And I didn’t even say it loud enough for her to hear, I caught it.” Ava was getting more and more angry as this conversation went on.

“First thing I wasn’t laughing at you I was laughing at the situation. As in my doctor thought we were married. So, let’s get that out of the way, secondly, you’re the dumbass who couldn’t put a word together to form a coherent sentence if your life depended on it. What the hell was that?” Hannah couldn’t get a read on Ava because she was still facing forward. Ava pulled into the driveway of there house and put the car in park. Hannah was still waiting for some kind of response, but instead Ava just got out of the car and started walking towards the front door. Hannah opened the door and crawled out the car grabbing her crutches and making her way to where Ava was unlocking the door and heading in. “So, what now you’re not talking to me?” Hannah stood in the doorway.

“You know what Hannah I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to do anything but go upstairs, take a shower, and sleep. Okay I have had a shit day and I just want it to be over. I want to pretend today did not happen.” She turned to head towards the hallway.

“I have to go back tomorrow.” Hannah said and Ava stopped in her tracks and her eyes fell to the floor her head shifted down.

“Fucking Awesome!” Ava said frustratingly.
