When the ultrasound showed 3 beating hearts in the blond's belly, Steve and Tony both almost fainted from the surprise, they were expecting a baby as it normally is for any couple, but now they found that they would be first time parents of not just one baby, but three. It was a little scary at first but before all the pregnancy stuff started, that is, more months passed, they accepted the idea that they would be parents of three little ones and adore it, of course they loved them immediately and now just the idea already settled, with Tony at the helm the shopping started, even a remodeling of their home as they needed the extra space, Steve simply let it be, as he knew his husband was on the cusp of happiness and loved seeing him with that big smile on his face as he arrived with bags of clothes, the blond rubbed his belly with adoration of all that he was experiencing now.
Obviously the whole pregnancy process was tedious because of the little space in Steve's body, at least for three little ones it was a bit tight and cramped, that's why the delivery was planned for before nine months, taking care of Steve and the children's health.
When the due date arrived everything went as it should, unfortunately it was not as Steve wanted because when he found out the positive result he thought he could give birth naturally, but obviously it would not be like that, it was too risky. The cesarean section went without any complications and although the babies were born early, all their development was complete, their lungs and heart were strong and healthy.
They received their visitors and everyone was happy, the deluxe room was adorned with balloons and flowers and letters sent by distant but important friends, they felt in heaven, their babies healthy, a perfect circle of support plus Tony was happy and Steve the same, healthy and strong.

Well, the reality was a little far from what they had expected, they wanted to be like those model parents with triplets who obviously knew which one was which, but being so identical they could not do it and decided to do the most obvious, differentiate them by colors in their clothes, bottles, all their belongings, to make it a little more dynamic and ironic, they used Steve's colors, blue, red and white/cream, of course all in different shades but the same palette.
It was funny to have had to resort to that instance and the uncles and aunts of the little ones noticed it, however it was something that united not only the couple, but the former avengers already retired, the couple lived in their country house and sometimes the meetings of friends were spent happily with the little ones and helping the couple in the new journey of having triplets.
Sometimes it was necessary for Sam and Bucky to feed two and Steve the remaining baby while Tony slept and so they rotated so that the new parents could rest at night or sometimes during the day to have energy at night.
This is how the first few months went, where the little ones slowly learned everything, smells, tastes and sounds.
Tony was in charge of heating the milk that Steve extracted from his swollen breasts every morning and every afternoon, for three little ones it was necessary a lot of energy and the milk, thanks to Steve's body, came in abundance. While Tony warmed the milk to a good temperature, Steve changed the diapers one by one of the little ones and put on a beautiful outfit for each one, then he would ask Sam to help with the cleaning of the room, there was a lot of mess.
With the milk ready the problem began almost every day, sometimes Steve would forget because it was funny and that is exactly what started it, it turns out that Steve sometimes forgot that when breastfeeding (apart from the bottles) Harley specifically needed the blond to hold him, no one else and they learned that the hard way as the little one cried and kicked until he was taken by his mother and finally had his precious milk. As Steve had two arms he could only hold two at a time and the third must be carried and bottle fed by someone else, either by Tony or with his aunts and uncles in cases of need. Then when Steve forgot the matter sometimes he would hold the two babies that were not Harley, the little one's discomfort would begin... however the babies that were already nursing did not want to let go of the nipple as it would be another river of crying when they wanted to switch to the bottle, Steve came to a funny conclusion and something for the book of prosperity and what to tell when the children are older.... Steve printed out a picture of his smiling face and laminated it, cut two holes in the sides and attached them with a strip of elastic... he made a mask so that anyone who will take Harley can give his milk without crying and without tantrums.
Of course it was a solution that made Tony laugh to tears and he even enjoyed it when it was his turn to wear the mask, there were already several pictures of him wearing it, the funny thing was that when James, Bucky, Rodhey and Nat helped with Harley, they had to wear one of Steve's clothes in addition to the mask, it was like a comedy show.
Of those kinds of situations there were also pictures that they kept with tenderness in their albums, once again the family was reunited and it felt cozy, especially for Steve and Tony, who longed so much for this family, this home life... finally they could get it and although sometimes they struggle with their children and the situations of first time parents, they wouldn't change it for anything.
