The Rogue Avengers were in Wakanda, sitting salty as usual that the world had forgotten about them. It all started when Tony, according to Natasha, banned all news reporters from talking about them unless he addressed them specifically. How he got this order from the court? Well, the rogues believed it was money. Even if T’Challa and Shuri told them it was because he argued he didn't want the trauma of speaking about the people who supported his parents' murder, they didn't believe it. They stuck to acting like their shit didn't stink. As they watched the news, Natasha made a face as she saw Yelena in a $1 billion dress. She was fully decked out in gold and jewelry. All in all, she didn't look like her sister, but she was now the Stark matriarch.
The thought of her sister having a better life than Natasha made her angry. She was meant to be a sidepiece, one that made Natasha look good. One that she could be compared to and always come out on top. But Stark, Stark changed, and when Yelena got married, she had access to money and power like never before. Right now, the only person who had more power was T’Challa, but even that might not last. The Wakanda council, from what she had heard, was getting antsy, and the hatred of the people for T’Challa harboring their people's murder was growing. Even if T’Challa managed to keep the throne, he was engaged to Nakia. They even had a child on the way, and that was Natasha’s weakness: she was unable to give birth.
As she watched the press conference discussing the new Avengers, Natasha scoffed at Tony replacing them with some low-level heroes like Spider-Man, her sister, Kate Bishop, Doctor Strange, Wasp, Isaiah Bradley, War Machine, and Tony himself. The crowd, however, loved the team. They were like a perfect version of the Avengers. It got worse when Thor and Bruce arrived and accepted the new accords. This made Natasha angry. Tony did what Natasha thought he couldn't; he managed to get some politicians to accept his version of the accords, which took away their power. Natasha didn't know how, but she suspected it was Pepper. From what she saw, Tony was only good at making stuff, not handling situations like this.
She then watched as her sister took the stage on TV.
“I would like to announce mine and Tony’s baby's arrival,” Yelena said. The words Natasha heard nearly sent her into shock. “Baby,” Natasha lightly stuttered out. Clint turned to her and held her. She could tell he was pissed at Tony for hiding this from the team and from Natasha herself. She always wanted a child to be perfect, not a defective woman like the Red Room had made her. And Tony could do it, but he hid it. Natasha focused on the TV.
“As you all know, I had things done to me, and it got worse when my so-called sister, the old Black Widow Natasha Romanoff, one of the war criminals who sided with Captain Hydra, abandoned me. Well, my husband has found a cure for all of us: the perfected Extremis virus. With it, I was able to regrow my womb, something taken away from me by those monsters. And with that, I would like to announce Stark Medical. Thanks to the Extremis virus, we can now heal everyone. Of course, right now, the wait times will be long because my husband has to code the virus to be compatible with you. So patience is advised. We will only be treating people who have true injuries or are in life-threatening situations, so don't try to book an appointment if you have a cold or something. You will be wasting money on something that can be cured with readily accessible medicine. We are not here to take jobs.” Yelena said on screen.
Natasha saw Yelena walk off the stage. She walked away depressed; she knew that Stark would never help her. Yelena hated her. She would be the only widow left alive that would be defective, but what's worse, she wouldn't be able to fulfill her dream of having a family.
“Nat, you good?” Steve said.
“What do you think, Steve? A product that could remove the signs of the Red Room has been created by our enemy, and you think I'm fine,” Natasha yelled.
“We'll force him, Nat. I will make him heal you. For ruining our lives, making us criminals,” Natasha heard Clint say as he walked in. Natasha scoffed.
“What makes you think you can beat him, Clint? You're just a man with a bow, and he's the man with the most advanced suit. Even Shuri can't figure out how the arc reactor works,” she said.
“I can mind control him to do it,” Wanda said, her red haze leaking out. Suddenly, her magic burned, and her hand set on fire.
“Arghhhh!” Wanda yelled in pain. “Make it stop!” she cried out.
“Wanda, what's wrong? Sam, go get some water! We need to put out the fire,” Steve yelled.
“It's Stark. I tried to use a small backdoor in his mind to force him to send an Extremis virus compatible with Natasha, but his brain was hotter than usual, as if he was on fire. And now my brain's being fried! Help me!” Wanda yelled in pain.
Sam arrived with Wakandans, but Wanda's brain was burnt; she had died. The witch had been burnt. Steve and Clint let out cries of pain. Natasha herself cried, as with Wanda dead, her dream of getting Extremis was over. Even if she recovered the formula, she couldn't code it into her head, and Shuri was honor-bound; she wouldn't take others' tech. Just like how she refused to work on Avengers gear, saying it was Stark tech when T’Challa tried to force her; the council made him undergo repentance trials.
A few years later, Natasha watched from afar as her sister and Tony hugged their child after defeating Thanos. Clint, on the other hand, was in a dire state; he would have been better off dead. He attacked Tony when his wife divorced him and married Loki. Loki even had the audacity to say, “Your wife and kids call me daddy now,” to Clint. Clint blamed Tony and tried to force Loki off the planet and make him heal Natasha. Tony laughed as his suit formed around him, and Clint was beaten to near death.
Later, Yelena used her access to her husband's money to torture Clint. She had him captured and ripped out his eyes, forcing him to eat them. She had her ways, especially with the Mind Stone. Let's just say after forcing him to eat his eyes and hands, she used BARF to frame him for the attack and put him in jail. Nobody believed Clint; why would they? Well, Steve did. He rushed in to save Clint and ended up getting hit by an anti-serum. Let's just say that due to an enhanced disease being introduced to an unenhanced body, Steve died painfully.
Now, Natasha remained. She had a dead look as she walked home, scars and cuts all over her body. Every day, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents she exposed attacked her, and she didn't have it in her to fight back, not after Tony destroyed her mentally by making Yelena better than her. She accepted her punishment as a form of failure. She now realized that her report on Tony Stark was actually about her. She had textbook narcissism; she was the one who wanted to be better than Yelena, to make sure she stayed below her. As all things should. It was her inability to handle that Yelena was better that caused her friends, her team, to die. All in all, the real Avengers' report should have been: “Tony Stark: Yes, Natasha Romanoff: Not recommended.”
