Or are you gonna deny that too?

Catching a glimpse of her, Miles smiled. "Margo—"

"Fuck is you following me for?!" She swung around to face him. Right then, her voice could’ve defied a thunderclap. Miles lowered the hand he had raised while calling out her name.

"Damn, Chile, Why you so pissed—?" He stopped himself when he was greeted with one of Margo’s famous glares. "Dumb question, right?" He let out a dry chuckle, not sure what else to do.

"No, I need you to fuck off." She told him, pointing at him with her finger. Telling him off.

He frowned. "Me? I just fucking helped you. Shouldn’t you be a little bit, I don’t know?" He shrugged, looking at her. "Thankfully?"

"Ha!" Margo laughed. "This boy wants me to be thankful." She shook her head in disbelief. Before coming at him. "Don’t fucking take me for an idiot." You’re his best, and you can’t seriously look at me in the eyes and tell me you didn’t know he was fucking that girl!" Miles' words died in his throat as she screamed. Margo’s expression alone lanced him straight through the heart with its desolate sadness and—

Oh, he knew.

"I should be thankful, right?" Margo asked with both hands raised to her waist level as she walked around in disbelief. "I" was invited to a party that "I"didn’t want to attend. "I" looked for my boyfriend just to find him counting the teeth of some girl with his tongue, Cool. She shrugged, waving her hands dismissively.

Miles fought the smile that threatened to show at the thought that she was unbothered by the sight of John with someone else. Was she gonna drop him there?

““I’m” like fuck this shit.” I” walk out, and suddenly “I'm” pulled into a kiss by his best friend?”

Miles pursed his lips, and his pupils slid away from Margo's face. When put like that, that does sound bad. Seeing his inability to look at her, Margo continued.

He pushed his lips into a narrow line, and his pupils slid up this time. He wasn't trying to avoid looking at her. He simply felt bad that, despite Margo pouring her heart out to him, all he could think about was how beautiful she was.

"I'm getting to the good part." She tells him, faking a goofy smile, bringing Miles back to reality. He muffled a cry for help.

"And then he comes out trying to break up with me like his ass wasn't already on the ex list."

"Now, should I continue?" She asked, looking at him dead in the eyes with her hands resting on her waist, but that wasn't a question, and if Miles had dared to answer, she was gonna let him have it.

Miles sighed deeply, thinking hard about his next words as he finally gave his eyes a break. Letting that fall on the snow beneath their feet.

"Look," he began as Margo blew a raspberry, letting some of her frustrations out. The air quickly morphed into mist.

The whole cheating thing? Margo didn’t give a fuck. The fact that she was taken for a fucking idiot was what pissed her off.

"I called a cab." He announced, and that caught her attention.

Do I look like I can’t drive? was on the tip of her tongue, begging to come out, but she restrained herself when their eyes met and the taller man raised both of his hands in a gesture of peace. He wasn't looking to anger her anymore. She gave in to the pleading in his brown eyes and allowed him to finish.

"I don’t think you should drive right now." He told her his voice was coated with worry. Margo sighed, wrapping her arms around herself to shield her body from the cold.

"I’m still not getting into your damn taxi; just know that." She still bit.

"Well," he exhaled, abruptly reducing the gap between them. No matter what he says right now, she was gonna stay stubborn till the end.

Observing the close proximity between them Margo She gave him a glare. He sighed; every breath he let out morphed into mist due to the cold, and in a swift motion, he took off his hoodie and wrapped it around her.

"You are cold." He told her. "Or are you gonna deny that too?" The corner of Miles’ lips curled into a smirk when Margo didn't find anything to say as he continued to fix the hood of his hoodie on her.

"Don’t catch a cold, k?" He said, tugging on the strings a little too firmly, closing the frontal part of the hood on her face.

"Oh!" He gasped, ready to laugh, but caught himself with a cough, but it was too late. Margo had already heard the subtle laugh. And despite not being able to see, Margo raised her middle finger at him. "Fuck you." Miles hid his smile with his fist. Mentally kicking himself for the 100th time tonight for thinking about how cute she looked,

The man with the ebony eyes exhaled, seeing his breath turn to mist as he peered around, his gaze was lured to the light of the tall buildings. The city was beautiful at night, but that was not what he was thinking. His gaze was drawn back to the girl, who was straining to free her head.

"Man, Fuck it." He whispered, loud enough for both of them to hear.

He had made his decision.
